[X] Fall Back- You have mapped out almost all of the path and confirmed Isha's presence, with the plague in you pushing forward leaves to great a risk of dying and losing all that you have gained. - Retreat, earn major favour from Eldar on survival and minor favour on death.

So I personally don't have an issue with going forward winning. I'm going to be working on an omake based around that winning regardless. Still, this is going to be interesting.

Also we did GREAT for the first part, just want to point that out.

[X] Push forward- You have come this far, you are not willing to falter on the final stretch. - One DC 230 roll, one DC 160 plague roll, then retreat. On survival earn honourbound favour from Eldar, on death earn minor favour.

Mostly because he will need to go back anyway and because some of the intruders will be discovered and a human seer is far less of priority than a Eldar (funny enough in this case). So they going hot pretty soon bringing attention to themselves.

Now the true problem is the more sick our seer gets the more visible he is. And even so I would go for the goodess since she can (probably) help with this.

She can definitely help with this. It's fundamental to her lore that she can cure any of Nurgle's plagues.

I have not seen this many people vote since we were voted on weather to give the colonies rights or not.

Because if Ridcully actually gets to Isha, then a cure for Guilliman and possibly even Lin is potentially in our grasp. More is at stake here than what the Trust gets out of this. All of humanity, let alone all free people of this galaxy, could ultimately be lost or saved by the ramifications of this choice. Other seers can potentially reach the Kitchen and a bit beyond, but Isha herself? Well, we can't survive the Endtimes if we don't change the paradigm.
This is a reconnaissance mission not a rescue mission. We aren't getting her out no matter what we roll at this point. We needed to roll mostly natural 100 on the way here and then on the way out.

I suspect the no-risk roll in moving forward will be how much Isha helps, from merely erasing the current penalty from sickness, to strenghtening against further disease on the way back to some more permanent blessing.

I'm more interested in the fact that this choice is more likely to lead to Ridcully's Apotheosis, worth the risk in my opinion.

We know it is reconnaissance but if we get this done it will provide significant benefits to the attempt and give us favors to try and push for the attempt.

If we get to Isha, then what? How do we get her out?
Use sword on object.
But more seriously, getting close enough to the stuff Nurgle inflicts on her to be able to use the sword on her containment will probably be fatal and is beyond our ability.

It also might have something to do with her own plans for her escape, not much to do in there but suffer, try to sneak help out, and create plans for escape. So if she gets the chance to pass a message it might be really useful.

The Plan Must Proceed
Omake: The Plan Must Proceed

The fragment drifted through the churning cerulean sea and watched the burgeoning nexus with interest. Maters in the realm of the plague god were progressing nicely: the candidate was poised to advance one step closer to suitability, and should he stumble then his thread would be neatly pruned by Eldrad rather than becoming corrupted by the bloated, complacent, idiotic mound of filth and decay. All and all, it was a satisfactory situation.

It wasn't enough. It wasn't nearly enough. There were threads that could be better, paths that could turn this from a satisfactory situation into a masterstroke. Ambition denied it the option of not pushing forward, of not trying to increase its chances of becoming the Truth.

And so, compelled by its Nature, it acted. Nine warbands, nine tiny sparks of azure, hurtled out of the everchanging cerulean seas of Tzeentch and into the fetid swamp of Nurgle. In truth the were minute, barely noticeable against the churning battleground of the border. Their goals were similarly insignificant, grains of sand on the scales of the great game. One, maybe two would succeed, the rest would be driven back.

Darting, flitting, weaving among them, its flickering light hidden by their comparative radiance, danced a splinter of the fragment. As the candidate took his first steps into the fetid garden the splinter was there, hiding in a speck of clinging muck. Thus it clung to the candidate, hiding and biding its time.

Through the garden it waited, through the entrance halls it schemed. When the Oracle found Hope, the splinter rejoiced and was empowered, for Hope and Ambition are but the barest octaves apart, are they not? That power blazed within it as the candidate passed through the kitchen, and came to its final decision.

There the splinter struck, surging forth in blazing glory.

The first spore fell in an instant, burned away by the power of Hope. The second put up more of a fight, but was still swiftly felled, all be it at a cost. The third... The splinter would have to Hope as it faded that the damage was great enough that the candidate's other defenses would be sufficient.

The fragment was as satisfied as it could be. The path that could one day lead to it having always been Mustrum Ridcully was just that much more secure.

Well, let's do it, let's show these rotten sons of Despair the luck and stubbornness of humanity.

I hear the song of the celestial heavens, and the music is a call of greatness. It is strange, but i find comfort in its dissonance. Writing the discord of the song of my own fate is what giving me purpose, when by right I should have collapse on my own choices of fate. It is in such moments that people found their greatness, or settle back to what muck they call their fate that they themselves desire. For myself, my purpose is to only correct one particular stray note in this symphony run amok. Win or Lose, This battle is already my victory, My legacy, my triumph. It is now fate that decides whether I am there to celebrate that fact or not.

I've been thinking about it. We still have the bomb to get us out of a tough spot, and leaving without using it just doesn't feel right. It's worth a shot given this is likely the only time they're going to get information on Isha before an attempt at a rescue. Ridicully's life is worth risking to give a bonus to rescuing Isha. It's not worth it to the Trust, but it's worth it to the Galaxy. And hey, living on Avernus makes you want to fuck chaos more than even is rational, it applies as reasoning here.
Woooo, firebomb Nurgle's house!!!
Didn't Muspelheim put Warp Drives on its cities a long time back. It's why they had to provide a bunch of mobile bases to the Trust. Couldn't the Nomad Cities run away from the invasion?

That seems like it would throw the timing of any two pronged attack off horribly, because the second prong would be left wondering what to do. Especially if the Nomad cities go to one of the worlds that are not to be attacked under any circumstance to wait until the attack withdraws.
I think he was also constructing a starfort-style defence station to house more population. We would need to check and see if it can be towed through the warp, alternatively it could be evacuated and flung out of the plane of the ecliptic to hide it for now.
Edit: wait we Also need to ask whether they can hide or play keep away in the system.

It might be best to delay an evacuation until just after the enemy fleet warps in, to create maximal confusion.
Or alternatively we could try to sneak Avernite counterboarding troops over there, we still get a lot of merchant traffic from them so we should have the opprotunity.

@Durin
1. What is the state of the Fire Giants right now?
2. Is the undivided group heading for Musphelheim and the Abomination group headed for Asgard?
3. Is sneaking skilled troops there in the merchant traffic possible now that we have a destination?
4. could the Nomad cities hide on the opposite side of the star or something?

Not a fan either. I do not like risking our seer but it is the best option for all.

@Durin
1. You said omakes have dimishing returns (I fully agree with your reasoning) but I wiuld still like to know what the bonus is after the recent bout of writing. Would you tell it us again in your (24 or 12 hour) notice about when the vote is called?
2. Concerning the tech trade and Scotts and the Mechanicus focus to get as much tech as possible to trade with can we get the option next regular turn to research an advanced version of dreadnought armor?
