Makes sense. If Tranth is set to live 1200+ years between the hyper advanced juvenat and augmentations, then of course all of his peers would be as well.
Not really.

He's been able to integrate DAoT stuff into his body back when it was flesh and presumably had fewer components integrated into places that couldn't be removed without killing him.

By contrast we were told Magos Varnak would be dead already and yet he's holding on, the bastard.

I don't personally have a problem with the conservatives, it's not like they are against progress, they are just slow about it.
Yes they are, that is their entire point now.

Palidus was a "conservative" who was in-favour of slow change, but only to an absolute minimum extent.

People like Sahr and Vanir von asshat want to try and keep their precious traditions in a galaxy where those traditions are actively detrimental in the extreme.

These are the same kind of nutjobs who spent so long debating whether a tank was "pure" that the Mechanicus Magos who designed it died of old age before they finished.

That tank BTW the Macharius, a downgrade in every possible respect to the Baneblade and it took the Magos centuries to design it and centuries more for them to approve it because it wasn't based on a whole STC pattern.

These are the kind of nutters we're dealing with, we do not have time to move at their glacial pace.

Did we ever figure out what the Inquisition wanted us to do? Or was it just help out with the blank training?
We're pretty sure it was that.

I am still sad we didn't get any boost to ship production from that archeotech Shipyard though, Voidbuilding is our biggest bottleneck right now.
Try the data jewels or Callamus.

Btw, should we start investing in mining ships? I don't know where we are at right now, but we have been digging deep and greedily for a while. Not sure how much reserve we have left.
Not really.

The entire moon's made of metal, we've barely mined a fraction of a percent of what's there.

They are man, they are.

But all of the old guard can keep doing their job for even more centuries.

So those positions are not opening up.
Why did people suddenly stop getting killed in battle all of a sudden?

Why were the only replacements the wife of another governor who is disqualified by default before considering the Asire's rocky past with Jotunheim and a conservative, where was the progressive candidate for the job?

I dunno apparently they don't exist because OLD PEOPLE.

Its like real life academia.

@Durin would taking the option to increase the Admech military decrease the conservatives power base or not?
it would, as it would men a greater proportion of the military would be young, and the young are almost entirely progressive. it would lso open up new senior postion due to an expended force organisation chart increasing the number of progressives that can reach high ranks

The biggest reason you are having problems with the conservatives for so long is the hyper advanced Juvenat, which means that it is basically the same conservatives that are causing the problem.
Even Juvenat isn't forever, though. Arkhan must be ready to drop dead of old age soon.

Of course Arkhan probably has a successor in mind already. >.>

Such a pity we can't reasonably afford it in the next millennia.

Nope he's only what 1000 years old now.

Still for some reason got another 100 years in him.

Thankfully any successor likely doesn't have anywhere near his level of clout, but given the fact that nothing does anything to them I get the feeling that his death wouldn't cause any real impact either.

Not when they've got nutjob mckill them all in charge.

Umm what? Most of the Mechanicus lives on the moons in the Avernus system, Vanaheim or Alfheim. Why would they be dying in battle? There hasn't been a battle or really a threat to those locations in centuries.
And a good chunk of the conservaties are in the Mechanicum military which should be on the front ****ing lines dying with the rest of us pathetic fleshings and if they're not then I have some very pointed questions to be asking.

Regardless I'm not just referring to the conservatives in the mechanicum, but the Trust in general.

We can afford it, but it would be expensive.
If we had attempted it this turn it would have taken all our AM income and dropped our reserves appreciably before taking into account all the other projects we are doing.

I hope to god we can do it soon, but somehow I get the feeling we won't be.

Did our support/opposition numbers shift with the discovery that other powers have basically broken the admech warnings?

I don't have previous numbers to compare with.

We should consider taking the Admech in 4 turns after the high council meeting and conference. That demon incursion really messed with are economic expansion. We wil still need about 15 million am after we finish the tithe. But we will have enough metal, promethium and material to trade.

@Durin how far are we from getting a huge forge hive?

Hum, I must admit I am pumped up about our educational and Administrative.
Btw, it should be about time to shake up the Imperial trust administration and get some more efficiency going. Something to bring up in the next meeting maybe?
@Durin can we get something similar to administrative shake up and educational review for our factory and mine or even building/Voidbuilding? Something like Work Efficiency?

Regardless of how much of the xenotech we use directly, we would definitely want to get any pure xenotech designs we could in order to give it to the Quartok. They need a power up to stay competitive if they're going to be sending regiments to the Trust Guard.

This is a good idea, from what Durin said even the consertatives don't really care about us giving away xeno tech to other xenos as long as human tech isn't involved. At most it's just frowned upon among the Admech. It also gives us more tech to trade with other avernite natives without pissing off the Admech.

Thing is that only a small number of Admech end up on the frontlines outside Avernus. Which is pretty practical since we won't to avoid the odds of them getting captured alive. Another issue is that when a consertive leader dies they tend to put someone with their line of thinking as their succesor just like Scott's previous mentor did for her and she has likely done herself. The reality is that the Admech in the military are likely the support roles that don't see much combat.

Truth be told if we want to have more proggresive Admech we might just want to see about buying a ton of them from Callamus and having them set up shop near Avernus or another progressive place which would give us even more progressive admech over time.

at current population growth you will get the option in 3 turns
@Durin just out of curiosity were the tech priests that Turoq captured conservatives or progressives?
mix but mostly progressives

So since we are talking about absolutely suicidal death quests and visiting great ones any thoughts on an expedition to that island the lady of death is on? If anything can possibly stop Lin from dying it's her.

Empire of Ashes
Eldar Galactic Power

Capital: The Black Library
Size: Unreal number
Technology level: 30+ (Psy-Tech focus)
Estimated Population: 20-50 billion alive, 5 trillion dead

Known Relations: Krok Protectorate (Blood-Brothers), Eldar Exodites (Distant Allies), Imperium Quartus (Allies), Imperial Trust (Friendly), Necrons (Cold War), Orks (Open Warfare), Chaos (Open Warfare), The Dark Prince (Bitter Enemies)

The Empire of Ashes, or the Ynnari are the most powerful group of Eldar in the galaxy and the only group which still attempts to fight the horrors of the galaxy. They were formed in the immediate aftermath of The Birth of Ynnead by the craftworlds of Saim-Hann and Biel-tan, the Harlequins, a large proportion of the Exodites and those Dark Eldar willing to abandon their old ways. This gave it an initial population of only a handful of billion, a mere fraction of what the craftworlds alone possessed merely a few years before. Over the years this number has been steadily increasing, though it has yet to climb to where the Eldar were before The Birth of Ynnead.

The Empire of Ashes was founded with the idea of earning back the Eldar's ancient role as the protectors of the galaxy, and of atoning for the Eldar's sins which saw the birth of She Who Thirsts. In pursuit of this they have been working both to strengthen the other forces that would protect the galaxy and to hinder those that would harm it. This goal has seen the armies of the Empire of Ashes, both living and dead, being constantly deployed since its founding, and has slowed population growth to a crawl.

The Eldar of the Empire of Ashes are significantly more humble then the Eldar once more, it being an aspect of faith that they lost the old Eldar Empire and its claim to greatness with The Fall, and will need to earn back their pride. While they are still convinced that they know best they are now at least willing to listen to others ideas, and are willing to tells others what they are doing when they can.

While Ynnead and the Laughing God were highly active in the initial years of the Empire of Ashes since then they have taken a far more hands-off approach, letting the Eldar lead themselves. While they attempt to claim as many of the Eldar souls and shards of Eldar Gods that were scattered throughout the Warp by the first fight between the Ynnead and She Who Thirsts. Currently the Eldar are attempting to rescue these souls and divine shards before She who Thirsts or one of the other Chaos Gods gets their hands on them. They have had mixed success in this effort which has led to the Eldar gaining Avatars of many of their old Gods rather then just Khaine. So far there are only three gods that the Eldar do not have any shards of, Asuryan who they never sought for, Isha who remains hidden and Mathlann, who is reviled as a traitor.

These days the Eldar are led by a group called the Council of Twilight, which consists of the leaders of their people both living and dead. From what you can gather the council mostly meets with just a fraction of its members, who include the High Autarchs, the High Farseers, the Wraithkings, the Phoenix Lords, the leaders of the Harlequins and several others. The Twilight Council is one of the few locations where the living Eldar mingle freely with the Wraiths, who generally remain apart from the affairs of the living. The battlefield is the other major location.

The Empire of Ashes is one of the most powerful forces of the sane currently in the galaxy, and is by far the most active. They have taken on the role of keeping down the countless threats to the galaxy that were once held back by the Imperium of Man, and the new threats that have arisen since. On top of this they are actively working to strengthen those other sane forces that still remain, and to lay the seeds for future cooperation. A common belief among the Ynnari is that opening stages of The Rhana Dandra, the End of All Days, have begun and that the coming wars will match, or even exceed the War In Heaven.

In war the Empire of Ashes believes entirely in working for the maximum effect for the minimum effort, due to how utterly overstretched their forces are. This results in strategies that focus first on manipulating others to fulfill their objects, preferably other enemies, then to the precise deployment of an elite strike force and only if nothing else is possible the deployment of a warhost.

However when they do march to war there are few forces in the galaxy that can match them, and even fewer that can surpass them. With the The Birth of Ynnead all Eldar can make full use of the psychic powers, and their technology which was created to work in concert with their powers. With every Eldar having the psychic power of a powerful human Psyker, and far greater control that is channeled though the most advanced psychic technology and psychic disciplines that currently exist in the galaxy this makes even the merest guardian a terrifying threat. Only on occasions where the Eldar are unable to achieve victory despite all their technology and psychic do might their greatest heroes take to the field. The Phoenix Lords have grown only more deadly over the millennia, and only a handful of beings in the galaxy can really oppose them. Eldrad Ulthran on the other hand is the greatest seer that the Eldar have ever produced and was responsible for The Birth of Ynnead. It is currently unclear whether he is a Wraithseer, brought animated by the power of the god he helped to birth, a god in his own right who followed the path of ascension to its end or something else. Where the Phoenix Lords can win an unwinnable battle or slain an unbeatable foe Eldrad Ulthran has proven to be able to thread the narrowest of fates, avoiding near certain disasters time after time.
