[X] Plan Avernus Events

@Enjou please don't mention Jane by name, her identity is still a secret IIRC. And we should mention that the Planet Mind is modifying the Avernite humans.

[X] Plan getting it out of the way

Good enough for me has everything I think needs to be said. A little bit more than needed but nothing overbearing.

No we know what it's doing (at least the most obvious aspects of it.) we just don't know why its doing it. And we're in no position to really ask either.

It's also almost certainly the planet, few ifs or buts about it.

Seriously, 40K humans adapt at stupidly fast rates all the time and considering that we live on a heavily warp touched world it also seems likely that that would have had a good affect on us. I mean if we never found out the Planet Mind no one would have likely suspected thatA Avernite were altered by something else. Hell, I've repeatedly pointed out that we didn' have concrete IC proof to worry about it several times in the past so this isn't any different.

There is a collosal difference between having very strong suspicions and solid proof based on circumstances. In light of that I just think it's just needlessly shooting ourselves in the foot by needleslly saying that we know for certain it's the planet mind itself when we don't really have concrete proof.

Ok, here's the events I think are important.

[X] Plan Avernus Events

Avernus is willing to send 8 armies long term, three more short term.

Military
PDF and Helltroopers have been expanded, Helguard is currently in the process of being expanded. Speaking of the Helguard, Avernus is approaching the limit of how much its economy can grow, and your Administratum head has suggested the possibility of a tax break or subsidy to help fund the Helguard. You are open to the exact form this might take.
Several technologies have been implemented to increase the diversity of your forces, such as Crab Walkers.
You have reorganized your Power Armor using forces, which has proven to be effective in the war against Headcrusha.

Economy and Misc
Avernus has expanded it's juvenat production facilities.
Avernus has begun exporting wildlife goods.
Avernus is in the process of integrating banking systems with other commercial sectors of its economy.
Avernus has expanded several cities to be hives.

Ministorum
Saint Lin is in the process of studying the subject of gods, and has already found out a great deal.
Saint Lin is in the process of cleansing the tainted worlds of Valinor, to make them ready for colonization.

Astra Telepathica
The daemon responsible for dragging Chaos Psykers into Warp Rifts was killed.
The biggest news here happened in the last couple years - two Alpha Plus psykers were born on Avernus. One was completely unstable and became a Warp Rift, and the planet reacted by destroying the island the Arbor was on. The other was possessed by a daemon before it could be taken into custody, and the daemon was ultimately put down by Jane.

Avernus Xenos
Study has confirmed that there is some kind of psychic lifeform living in the Warp on Avernus that slowly 'eats' Chaos taint, though not much is known about it currently.
Several runes have been purchased from the Sirens in the wake of Valinor's crusade. You are now in the process of studying them.
You are considering the prospect of trading Quartok techonology to the Nynye in exchange for alkestry knowledge, giving examples of what potions you've been able to buy thus far. They do not want any technology to become space faring. You will likely give the Quartok a promise to build them a second city for their part in this. If there are any objections or limitations desired on this, please let them be known now.

@Enjou I strongly suggest you add a bit mentioning what Ridcully found out about all the high level waaghs since that is critical information that the Trust must know and will influence our proposals in the future.

[X] Plan Avenus Events

I'd like the changes to Avernites to be mentioned, best we do it early whilst we are covered in glory from the recent war.

Ok let me reiterate the evidence again.

1. We are doing it at the fastest pace on record although this is taking into account that something outside is not influencing it. This is confirmed by the Inquisition and according to them the faster incidents ended horribly (presumably they tried to control it in someway and ****ed up). In addition yes humans adapt at a fast pace in terms of 40K, but a fast pace for somewhere is something like Catachan which took almost 1000 years of getting eaten alive.
2. Yes humans adapt, but they don't adapt in all areas and their adaptations come with significant downsides. Take for example the Valhallans, ice world can comfortably survive in -15 degrees butt naked, but will almost instantly incinerate if they go above 10 degrees. Humans who live in void space their entire life (ships specifically) are better at orienting themselves and other things that are useful up there, but are also significantly weaker than one that lives on a planet as well as looking creepier. High grav worlders are stronger, but they can't swim to save their lives and are often slow. Advantages that make their worlds more liveable, but disadvantages as well. We don't have the same down sides, and our augmentation is way WAAAAY too wide spread, since everything we can measure properly is being affected. And while some areas are more affected than others in no case has everything been improved with no measureable downsides (well unless you count increase psyker production as a downside). Not even the increased caloric intake is not related to the boost.
3. The psycic boost. It'd be one thing if it were avernus, but this is a genetic thing, Avernites are 1% more likely to have psyicic children off world putting us almost 1000 years a head of the rest of humanity in terms of that evolutionary trend. Guess what creature is an expert in making genetically psycic creatures?
4. Avernite creatures around us are also evolving in response to us, with small things like Phase tigers better at going through void shields, to the Thunderheads an off shoot of the Thundabeasts. Makes you think maybe Avernus has something to do with it mmmmmmmmmm?
5. All the Avernite experts we have including Areatha and the Guardian Sphinx say this is the kind of stuff Avernus does as a matter of course and since we can see it's altering the creatures around us why are we exempt?

On their own one of these could be knocked off as coincidence, all together I'd say it's pretty damming WHICH doesn't really matter, because as has been pointed out repeatedly by Word of God the Inquisition is going to tell them anyway if we don't because apparently the evidence is enough for them!

Oh here's some WOG proof on that inquisition thing!

2) what do our advisors think about us informing the High Council about this?
2. That the inquisition will tell it if you do not

Yeah, I was paraphrasing Churchill because of the sheer WTF factor of Chaos asking their mortal enemy (the Imperium) for help against the Orks. It's like the Necrons asking the Eldar for help...wait, did that ever actually happen?

Also, deciding to throw my hat into the ring.

[X] Plan Avernus Events

EDIT:

Original quote by Churchill is as thus:

"If Hitler invaded hell I would make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons."

They were asking Malal for help? Because the trust is not that big of a threat to chaos. Right now it is orks, other chaos factions, Necrons when they come back, other chaos factions, Eldar, other chaos factions, other chaos factions, other chaos factions, Xenos and than imperial leftovers right now.

Actually I was thinking about how to deal with Turoq and had an idea, what do you people think?

One of Trust's bigest advantages is abundance of elites, how about we leverage that? From what I understand Turoq's strategy requires destroy orbital defenses above a section of the planet, landing elite strikeforce(-s) to quickly overwhelm defenders near landing site(-s), grab as much stuff as possible and then bug out before reinforcements show up. We can easily assign company of Astartes, one or two hundred thousand Helguard, one or two million Helltroopers and even more Chosen to each of the vulnerable planets (27 colonies + few of more vulnerable core worlds like Alfheim and Jotunheim) and still have plenty to spare, which should be enough to slow most strike forces in their track while inflicting noticable damage to Turoq's elites (though that will most likely be mitigated by the whole psyker choir-clone thing).

Actually, we should as Sirens if any of their runes would be particularly effective against the clone-choirs. Considering it would screw Chaos they should be willing to cooperate.

Hmm. This I like. From the talk about Turoq, he's bigger and meaner than we are, but we have the greater quality. We need to leverage that quality to the hilt.

Although...have we divined a profile of Turoq yet? If we know what kind of man he is, and what he wants, we may be able scout out a weakness in his personality and use something as inviting bait for him. And that's when we have it at him.

He's a recently ascended Daemon prince, once was the Astartes Chapter master of what I believe is now known as the Anteaters chapter (Durin's autocorrupt is wonderful :D). He also apparently has a good relationship with some dark forge worlds.

Aside from that we dunno, so divining him is likely high on the agenda.

Nope...the space anteaters...is even siillier. Appropriate for a band, but not what is meant to be a bunch of astartes :D
No no, Space Wolves and Space Sharks established this time honoured naming scheme, who are we to question it? Though I guess we can take the example of Astral Hawks and name them Astral Anteaters.

(If it's not clear I'm not being very seriuos here and may or may not be taking a piss at naming schemes of Space Marine chapters).

I'm going to headcannon that he fell because he was embarrassed by his chapters name, and no one will be able to convince me to change my mind.
