Also Frederick is only missing a single combat point to get that sweet sweet paragon trait. Maybe training someone else, like Syr, could help us get to grandmaster level in blade, like Jane did for us.

Actually should we consider bringing Syr back home anytime soon? Aside from letting her practice more governorship stuff and hone her deathworld bonus we could spend more time on training her up, which aside from being good plot potential also would presumably help both of our skills.

Unfortunatly no.

As @Dynamesmouse said gear does not count towards paragon traits, so Surt for example is not four or so points off transcendent combat.

However, Grandmaster doesn't seem to be something that happens from training, just time.

mmm. At the same time she may want to just remain in the navy especially since she's on the short list to become one of its top officers.

mmm.

I've got a question for Durin later.

Well that's disappointing but understandable. Still, it would be worth it to spend the time to reach 50 sooner than later as stronger and stronger enemies shows up.
We can try, but unfortunately most of those characters are out of the area where they get traits from training. They need pushes and going into Avernus to find one isn't recommended.

Something I wondered about, what happens to the guys in the Orbital Defense Stations? Are they fully expected to stay at their stations until destroyed?

If she got the promotion and left after only a year it could antagonize the Trust Navy. That level of leadership should last for awhile.

Did they do that above Avernus as well?
They may, but run into the problem of crash-landing somewhere on Avernus, which is only partially settled, and still full of unknown dangers. Those who land close enough to the cities and hives to be picked up before the enemy landings start are probably safe, but those who aren't so lucky probably are killed by the wildlife before they can be recovered, and those who land on another continent are almost certainly screwed.

@Durin
1. What is Syr's general reputation within the Trust. Especially compared to her father?
2. Given how long its been since she lost the young trait, how is Scott perceived by the admech now?
3. How many of the original 230 billion orks are left? We did kill a lot of hulks and knocked out 500 of their gargants.
4. How many roks do we think they can throw at the ground?
5. Should Svartalfheim fear a rok drop on their cities or are our enemies too dumb/the defences are too strong?
6. How wide is the coverage of Svartafheim's AA and Artillery net? Do they all over lap, are there few areas where a city cannot shoot the enemy?
7. How hard would it be for their defences to destroy an incoming rok, especially with Riduclly and Psyker support?

@Durin
1. If Frederick dies, is Syr our only option for governor of Avernus?
Syrs honestly pretty much the best. Decently high stats pretty much across the board. The only other candidate is really Swartz. Lin has good enough stats but I don't think he should be wasted on the mundanity of government.

I suppose Sarnow or klovis could be fun. I kinda wanna get in on that inquision shit.

No, but I imagine she's the most agreed upon best option. The Military brought her up and she was personally trained by Jane also.

Which implies 2 of the 3 biggest institutions in Avernus favor her. The third is the Adminatorium which could also swing to her because if her Fathers rep. Alone.

Plus her skills leave very little weakness. She'd essentially be the closest thing to Frederick.

I mean it's possible in the end. He needs to roll 1 and then bam.

Also while possible that he could die of old age it seems rejuvenat works for up to 1000 years...sooo yeah.

If Frederick dies of old age then Syr would have ~100 years left herself. By then she'd have been leading the Imperial Trust's Security Council for centuries and likely wouldn't want to leave it. The governorship would thus go to Syr's child or grandchild, or maybe someone unrelated to Frederick.

If Frederick dies of old age Syr wont have that long left and once she returns to Avernus she is more likely to die in combat or accident than Frederick, she needs to give Fred grandchildren so he can raise them to be potential governors, unless Fred actually steps down for some reason I dont see Syr having a lengthy governorship of Avernus.

Hereditary inheritance of the governorship of Avernus was a mistake IMHO.

The line of succession for Avernus is really shaky. Frederick, Syr, and it's over for the Line of Rotbart.
