Side note: but for Saint Lyn, I really want him to look into the Sanguinor. Especially if we can figure out a way to empower him further.
As I recall we still don't know that it exists.Side note: but for Saint Lyn, I really want him to look into the Sanguinor. Especially if we can figure out a way to empower him further.
Fair point. On the other hand, the blood dragons want closer relations. Freaky psychic stuff is about all they have left to offer, tech wise. Plus, if they have a good understanding on how much we know and can find out about how gods work they might legitimately ask.As I recall we still don't know that it exists.
Not exactly something the Blood Angels advertised. Pity.
You underestimate how much they're freaked out by the Sanguinor.Fair point. On the other hand, the blood dragons want closer relations. Does anyone want to take a swing at tallying up the costs for this plan?
Oh we have that, but Angel Steel isn't exactly something we can mass produce.
On the other hand if used right, in a suit of armour nothing short of an anti titan weapon (or something of similar AP) will be able to scratch it.
Ultra dense alloy.
Why would blink spiders make silk?
They're spiders?
It's not that bad, with double-down and Ridcully's reroll it's got 68.6% chance of success and it's only 2 years, so it's not that bad if we have to try again.Plus the Grav-Shear tech's chances are pretty low. I'd like to get the low-hanging fruits out of the way first.
We will design an upgraded version once we finish reverse engineering, and since we have access to much more powerfull reactors, more efficient/powerfull engines and shields and armor materials with better strength-to-weight ratio than Imperium or Ad-Mech had the Helheim pattern Goliath will most likely be much faster and tougher than original. It would still take significant time to reverse engineer, redesign and then actually build it though, which makes not worth it at the moment IMO.In most explorator fleets it would be useful, but that's cause they're quite slow.
Blink spiders... They are ambush predators.
They don't make webs but they do use silk, for "safety lines" when jumping and for building shelters.Blink spiders... They are ambush predators.
The best comparisons we have are jumping spiders who, correct me if I'm wrong, do not make webs.
I was wrong, I was corrected, thank you. They don't make webs but they do use silk, for "safety lines" when jumping and for building shelters.
Its not really slow because of things like weight, its slow because of intentional design philosophy. We will design an upgraded version once we finish reverse engineering, and since we have acces to much more powerfull reactors, more efficient/powerfull engines and shields and armor materials with better trength-to-weight ratio than Imperium or Ad-Mech had the Helheim pattern Goliath will most likely be much faster and tougher than original. It's not really useful in colonisation, especially for Valinor subsector which is close enough (closer than Gehena subsector which we colonized without much problem at the same time as two other subsectors) that we won't have problem just using cargo vessels, and our advanced tech and efficient administration means that planers will soon have enough industry it make it most irrelevant anyway.
Frankly its output is too low for it to make significant impact on major operation like Mar Sara campaign, even if we upgrade it. Also we have the forward operating bases Muspelheim made and forward operating Ramiles design available to be built for these purposes.Still I was referring more to it helping to take off the logistical problems the guard is facing. Remember Durin mentioned that the Mar Sara campaign
Apparently it would have helped so I got nothin.Frankly its output is too low for it to make significant impact on major operation like Mar Sara campaign, even if we upgrade it. They're in operation right now, IIRC. Muspelheim made about ten and gave them to the Trust. The Trust's using them as makeshift naval maintenance out in the colonies.Apparently it would have helped so I got nothin.
Still we haven't heard much about those forward operating bases have we...
I was wrong, I was corrected, thank you.
Still, if the spiders are building their webs to protect themselves from the elements (and maybe to hide from predators) they'd use a much weaker silk than spiders who where relying on it to grapple with Avernus animals.
I doubt this silk is particularly unusual in its properties.
I do not believe so and please don't write any deaths caused by spontaneous shootings instigated by arachnophobia are already a leading cause of death among Avernites.
If I may suggest an animal the Void Beacon is a valid option for research.
Heh, I forgot to fill those in.If I may suggest an animal the Void Beacon is a valid option for research.

You've put this in twice, but if I may suggest two alternatives
