The Third Emergency High Council Meeting Part Three: Conclusions
The Third Emergency High Council Meeting Part Three: Conclusions

Your arguments are enough to convince Chapter Master Julius and Champion Surt to push for full conquest of Valinor, barring the daemon world itself of course. There is a good bit of discussion of the split of forces and command but in the end it is agreed that you would take command over ground forces while Admiral Freyr commands the fleets. This will be the first time the Imperial Trust has taken the offensive against the forces of Chaos so it has been agreed that the Inquisition will place a large number of agents within your forces and will suspend any unit from active duty on the merest suspicion of taint while they investigate it. Given the sheer number of memetic dangers that will be encountered in this war you are sure that some forces will be corrupted, you just have to limit the number and the amount of damage that your forces take from traitors.

And so it begins...

@Durin
1. Out of curiosity what's happening with the remains of the Timeless army? They've been kinda smashed...are they going to try and rebuild, or are they just done? I can see the remaining members going to be teachers to the Chosen and the like.

It begins. Now we just have to hope Chaos god of Order is easy to dupe
I'm going to be annoying and pedantic here, but I promise this is important.

The abomination does not have the portfolio of Order in its catalogue IIRC, it has control/tyranny.

The Imperium was many things, orderly was not one of them.

As for duping it...eh we just have to blast them to dust, since we're doing very little to Valinor directly.

Order IS basically control AND tyranny. Also i believe we are underestimating the forces they have available. Maybe they lost most of their fleets, but i doubt it.

It has been stated that they do things 'by the book' and going all out doesnt seem so by the book to me. Also their ground forces should be able to if not outmatch, then outnumber ours due to the sheer number of worlds we are invading.

It was noted in the master plans stolen by Ridcully that Valinor was adding their entire Void ship strength and their entire army to the Crusade gathered to kill Saint Lin.

They went all in and were severely burned for it. They are down to those 2 capital ships and 5-6 thousand escorts that escaped and whatever they have managed to build in the last 2-3 years.

Is there any chance we'll be able to program the HUD of our various power armor to censor the memetic threats our troops might see or hear enough to keep them from mind fucking them forcing us to kill or at least remove them?

Those ships may not have belonged to Valinor, and returned home. Combined with Chaos's predilection for betraying and abandoning allies which have no further use or who have fallen out of favor, I don't think that Valinor will have many Warp capable vessels to defend itself with. Especially considering that they themselves will be the target of a Retaliation Crusade that significantly outmatches them. I would laugh if Valinor had literally only its Monitors, Stations, and Armies to defend itself with.

Keep in mind that the Imperium's Captains saw themselves as Lords of their Vessels, as rulers of nations in and of themselves. Unless Valinor has significant Mind Control capabilities left over that were not sent over on the Crusade (doubtful), all that can abandon them, will.

1. they are being kep together as the personal guard of the Governor-General. there are still 10 million of them

You forget, chaos gods give little choice to devotees. Especially one who embodies following orders blindly.
Valinor's Crusade didn't just stand and die when it was clear that their Angyl wasn't getting summoned. It broke, and did the wise thing of running the hell away from us.

That said, I imagine that someone as high up as a Captain would have a little more free will than a Gyardsman.

And we are doing them one at a time at the start , maybe a few later if things go well wich will help alot and we can drag some of the heroes with us aswell.

Yeah garrisoning and later colonizing the worlds wont be fun especially on the corruption front.

Yep. But the WORLDS are a problem. Hope the inquisitors do their best to curb the influence. Im not sure we can help mich there either. We still need our measures against chaos taint. Can we spare anyone to help?
