storms end has some stuf going for it as well. The titans, if usable at all would be venerable to krakens, or all number of gribbles, and they would have to land literally on the city. Something that I suspect they would lost a lot of transports doing, epically if we put most of our air force into the AO. They are not well equipped for an amphibious assault at all, and while we could not use the trolls that well the sirens would be in their element, and would be able to bring up their super heavies.

More kraken and what ever they have hidden away.

Yeah it is tempting, but IIRC they are equipped for aquatic assault.

Y'know, I wonder how many First Circle Archangyls there are.

Numerology suggests five, with 25 Second Circle, 125 3rd, 625 4th, etc etc.

But with the scale, that doesn't make much sense.

We've also got to remember that this isn't a normal first circle, this is the abomination's Kairos and An'ggrath IIRC.

I'm also slightly worried about who this archangyle might be pretended to be/have the name off.

Also while we may joke about doombreed there is actually a bloodthirster who originated from early earth.

Ragged Knight - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum

M2 to be exact.

not well. we know they have plans and some equipment, but not a lot. I asked durin a ways back, he specifically said storms end would be harder to storm but easier to siege. so the question is, do we think this will turn into a long siege or not?
We want it to be a siege.

That'll give the wildlife more time to grind them away.

I was under the impression First Circle meant Kairos, An'ggrath, Ka'bhanda, etc etc.
I might be wrong, but I think its just the top level before exalted demons.

In this case the Archangyl is the highest of the first circle...maybe called Metaron :p

I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, but given the sheer lack of servants in the exalted category in 40K I'd be surprised if there were enough of them to warrant making up the first circle.

Given that Khorne* and Tzeench at best have 2 a piece (and of them one of each are even more batshit insane than usual for demons and that's saying something)

That being said I have no idea who the Slaanesh and Nurgle exalted demons are anyone got an idea?

*Given the arguments over which is actually the strongest are dumb, lets just say Khbanda and An'ggrath are the same thing, functionally they are.

Hopefully I'll be able to provide some...clarity on where An'ggrath was during the Heresy though

that's what we want, but is it what we think will happen?
Probably, if we want too.

If Avernus ignores the Abomination forces I will be horrified.

Slaanesh and Nurgle don't get much love. Khorne is by far the most popular, meta-wise. Afraid I don't actually know.

They may not even exist meta-wise because of how popular I CAN SMASH UP A REGIMENT SCREAMING BLOOD AND SKULLS is.

@Durin
1. Since it likely doesn't matter at this point, in embers did Emps or the Grey Knights tell us what the Terminus Decree was?
2. Do the Grey Knights or inquisitors know who the counter parts to An'ggrath and Kairos for Slaanesh and Nurgle?

I mean, siege is always easier to pull off than storm, cause otherwise the 'siege' tactic would be to storm them. It's just that on the island the malus to trying to pull storming off is even higher because of how difficult the initial approach is.

Using arbitrary numbers, I'd say the DC for storming Storm's End and Dis would be 400 and 350, whereas the DC for sieging the two would be 300 and 325.

Colossal Hives are supposed to cover a continent, so that's not really indicating they're close.
Right, I forgot about those classifications.
So the city tiers go:

Colossal Hive Population of 1 Trillion to 10 Trillion
Gargantuan Hive Population of 100 Billion to 1 Trillion
Huge Hive Population of 10 Billion to 100 Billion
Large Hive Population of 1 Billion to 10 Billion
Small Hive Population of 100 Million to 1 Billion
Major City Population of 10 to 100 Million
Minor City Population of 1 to 10 Million
Regional City Population of 100 000 to 1 Million
Large Town population of 10 000 to 100 000
Small Town population of less than 10 000
Ruined City is slightly intact but uninhabited
Crater is totally destroyed
Dis + Lonely Citadel would be a Huge Hive then.
