[x] Plan Unified Front
I object to the Siren trade on the simple principals of we are willing to trade living humans, chaos tainted or not, to a primitive alien race so they can suck their souls out as food. 'Progressive' that is not, it's cruel and sets a dangerous precedent that Rotbart is willing to do anything to obtain that edge over his enemies, even if almost everybody else disagrees with it. And normally that might not be a bad thing, but this is going too far. And I think the fact so many factions are willing to vote against it is a good thing. It means the other Trust members are standing by their principles . And that is what this vote is about.
Do we stand by our principles and morals or are we willing to sacrifice people for power and knowledge, just like so many others have. How many Choas cultists were willing to sacrifice people for knowledge and power? And even the Emperor was willing to kill thousands and more just to extinguish religions so he could maybe weaken the Chaos Gods so they could be killed or die.
This may be our best chance to get more than the banishment runes, but I don't think we need to. And if we do, the situation can always be revisited, possibly with more support and understanding of the mechanics of their runes.
Ok few things.
1. This is a mercy, their souls are damned and rightly so, they die they get to go to chaos and literally feed the trolls destroying the universe, this way their souls are purified, cleansed and shat out as clean energy.
2. The Imperial Truth and the emperor religion purging idiocy was BS, every know knows that, that's not how the warp works.
3. Principles and morals, sure this is still 40K, we may not like it, but it works the Imperium worked for thousands of years and we are not even 1 iota a fucked up as them even if we did this on a massive scale with (10,000 psyker children a day keeps the death away) who were innocent which chaos Cultists are bloody not. We at the moment make 200 Cultists per year. 200. hundred.
4. Not everyone, just everyone who doesn't have as good an understanding as we do (meta knowledge) as shown by the fact that the admech, Inquisition, Muspelhiem and Niflehiem stand with us. The others have their reasons, but they never had their world overrun by Daemons and had to kill an entire 1/3rd of their population after wards (well Garp did, but we can turn him for a reason)
5. This is possibly our best chance to get our hands on non chaos rune sorcery (probably not old one, possibly derivative)
In short I have no troubles handing over 200 traitors to humanity to the Sirens in fact I'm angry we're doing it only because we don't get to punish them as they so richly deserved. Instead of eternal toil for the species they betrayed they get to be purified and returned to the warp in a clean form, in fact the only thing the Eclisarchy got right is that burning is an appropriate albeit useless punishment for these traitors.
And before you start, please answer me this, if we had 200 Eldar sitting ready to exchange instead of 200 traitors to humanity would you do it?
I'm not angry, your reasons are your reasons and normally I'd be backing you, but to spit in the primordial annihilator's eye and profit from it?
Yeah I'd do this.
