You know looking at the Black Irons I am surprised that they haven't taken to strapping suicide vest underneath their armor just so that they can do a "I'm out, but I'm taking you with me" maneuver against any enemy that actually manages to mortally wound one of them.

Some might, you must remember though that while nice for fear I doubt they're quite at the point of just running at the enemy screaming bloody murder yet.
They're still effective soldiers (albeit with death wishes) so exploding in a squad of their own people isn't conducive to that.

Would propably damage the own formation more than the enemy.
These are still fighting partially like Imperials, that means ranged weapons and many people standing together.

So can we take any steps to cut down on the number of chaos packers ? Increase funding of the psyker hunters ? A new unit for high level psykers ? Destructive frequencies ? Asking the inquisition and Grey Knights ?

Nothing really.
1. More funding isn't going to change the fact that they need to train people to a very high standard and that is very specific and even then the Psyker hunters are not as good at recognising psykers (witch finder's job) which can only increase with time. Even now we've reorganised them so they distribute their focus more evenly (Psyker hunters focus on the weaker psykers Witch hunters on the stronger.)
2. We've already organised battle psykers into choirs who will deploy and Major Psyker squads who will deploy to combat Chaos Psykers, as well as the Witch Finders lead by Primaris Aria.
3. Destructive Frequencies is more frequency research, might lead to something might not, more likely to just lead to better insight into how to kill them/ use song weaving.
4. If the Inquisition isn't already helping I'll eat my fedora, other wise the Grey Knights would be nice, but since we've only 9 of them left and the one who went missing did so in the Helheim system they're probably keeping them away.
For now the First generation of super assassins and Jane's Swordsmanship school are our best bet.
Then we can do a second upgraded generation of super assassins.

Subject: Quarter Review of Soldiers wellbeing
As per the General Directive of Governor Frederick Rotbart Executive Order 21-3-2521 and Avernite Guard Regulation ARG 2700-58-1456 a routine inspection was issued to assure Central Command of the Black Iron's Wellbeing.
To put this in summary the inspectors have found extreme discomfort in many soldiers with hazing rituals, disicipline by beatings, and overzealous fist fights in the barracks being of top concern. The MHR-Divions of Wellbeing recomends corrective action in order to save the divisions identified in these reports.
On the first charge it was found that groups of veteran Black Irons with the permissive attitude of officers allowed said veterans to take new recruits to visit Siren Pods. The soldiers would 'fish out' a Siren by baiting them with all maners of different techniques. One of the most horryfign was the volunteering of soldiers as live bait to lure in the Sirens. Once a Siren was caught soldiers would club the Siren with the Butts of Rifles or Other items to knock them unconscious. Soldiers referred to this as 'Bonking'. After successfully subduing the Siren each soldier would kiss the Knocked out Sirens with the newbie being forced to 'go all in' and use tongue to kiss the Siren. Some Sirens would wake up after this and bite the tongue of said newbies or veterans who partook in the act. After kissing the Siren they would then skin her by taking away her scales than throwing her back into the water to watch her be devoured by other creatures and then laugh. As stated initially this was a initiation rite for many new soldiers issued by Veterans and NCO's. Casualties can be high and very violent with many cases ending in a soldier being killed due to disease later after the act. This is a terrible waste of soldiers and by far the most major offense.
On the Second charge discipline by beatings. Many problematic soldiers are known to be sent to the Black Irons and while disciplinary measures are always on the table it is unsightly to see how the Black Iron's sergeants take to these duties. A soldier with PTSD named Juantro Menig was beaten to the ground by his NCO when it was discovered that he was giggling to himself after killing a childs Temple Kitten by stomping on it. The beating was carried out in public and forced Menig to undergo facial reconstruction surgery that made him take 3 months on medical leave. In other cases, troops are forced to disrobe on base down to there underwear and drum pots and pans together when it is discovered that contraband such as candy is being smuggled in which puts them of increased risk when an attack occurs.
Finally is the Black Irons penchant for violence. Barracks Brawls, while allowed in certain scenarios, are rampant in the units designated. Troops daily fight with there fists and sometimes with improvised weapons for sport. Gambling and even a 'league' system are known to accompany the troops. Some of the troops are so hurt by the fighting that they are forced take medical leave for days due to knife wounds or extreme bruising.

First off let me say in summary. I am busy preparing for a war damnit and I do not have the time nor interests to intervene in the daily lives of my troops. Also go Feth yourselves.
I personally created that tradition when I had the idea of killing myself after the war at Fjol IV when I saw Eldar Troops murdering slave soldiers by giving them some kind of kiss of death. Which is what my troops are doing. What does it matter that Sirens are dying? There killing Feral ones you hippies! That's our damn job!
Secondly, Menig is a sociopath who murdered his own family because of some shit or the other. He's not a man he's a egotistical nut job that deserves to die. Yeah others might be getting hurt but I have faith that my NCO's are doing it to instill order into those louts. Menigs types need to be reminded that the reason we serve is to protect our people. You can only do it with force. An when he comes back i'm sure his barracks buddies would love to give them an opinion about making kids cry for no reason other than his twisted pleasure of seeing the world to be as agonizing as his life. Feth that guy.
Thirdly, see first post. If the kids want to beat each other until there in the hospital to make some extra money than go for it. I'm sure they'll just spend it on call girls and alcohol like they always do.
We are the Black Irons and we do things differently for a reason. As long as the wildlife is dead and our people are safe than nothing else matters. Go feth yourselves you softies.

Honestly I see the Ace armor for Astartes as helping to ensure Thunderhawks and such make it to the ground. Thereby preserving Astartes lives, kinda like the reasoning behind Recon Armor.
