Witch Hunters were started by our first leader of Ministorum and are religious organisation while Psyker Hunters were created by Jane Oakheart and are non-religious organisation. For a long time they had more or less a same function but some time ago we reorganised Witch Hunters traning and operational procedures specifically fight high levels chaotic pskykers while leaving the lower ones solely to Psyker Hunters.
No no no, I know that, that's been like that since day one.

The change your talking about is when we reorganized the Witch Hunters to regiments to deal with the Gamma+ threats that I know, what I'm asking is why the Witchhunters have such a higher anti psyker and will bonuses?

To give you an idea they have at least (it was a while ago around turn 12) the will power of a veteran sister of battle as a minimum, which has probably increased.

So why the difference in "skill level" between the two?

1. What's the difference lore wise between the Witch Hunters and Psyker Hunters? I mean they're trained for the same purpose, anti psyker duties, but one has a much higher willsave (60vs15) and a much higher anti psyker roll (70vs25). Are the Witchhunters trained in a specific way, which is why they have that -15 to all other rolls?
2. Do the admech understand how the Nutron Lasers work?
3. Will we get a chance to start making Northern Sentinels soon? They are supposed to be Titan Killers and we're invading Garkill's worlds which are bound to have Gargants.
4. Are we using Nova Canon Vortex Bombs?

1. That actually reminds me, I've been looking, but I can't find any indication that we reversed engineered the Well's Plasma batteries, but it has been removed from the list.

ah I'm too curious and weak willed not too.
2. Is the thing Addio requested something we'll learn off after we've beaten off Garkill with a hammer?
3. Does Tranth estimate a chance for Archeotech on any of the Hulks assuming we don't blow them to bits?
4. Will we be given the chance to give the Helguard Rhinos and other Space Marine level vehicles?

Nah we never knew what happened to it.

Could have been lost in the warp, could have never made it, or could have never made it off planet.

Regardless the emperor died 3 years before we could have seen the result assuming we succeeded.
 
I would say that designs for Mars Pattern Titans would be sweet. (and then we could commit heresy by making them better :p)
Eh, if we're speculating now, (sorry @Addio) then a boost to admech integration and changing would be best.

Let us start innovating and playing catch up as well as stopping potential admech runners/abomination cultists yes pliz.
 
I'd rather get Forge-Hives (Or whatever the tier 5 and 6 upgrades are), I mean, look at our hilarious AM/EM consumption.

How long is the warning time for a city between learning a rock is comming down towards it and:
1. The rock entering orbital defence laser range?
2. The rock entering AA range? (is that even useabel?)
3. The rock touching down?

1. varies, can be only a few minutes
2. it is barely usable, the heavier AA can have a minor effect
3. one hour or so after entering orbital defence range, less if it is making a hard landing

The militia needs 1 to 3 hours to get ready if I remember it corectly.

So how viable is it to let the militia go back to their normal work after the first (and heaviest) storm of rocks is dealt with?

During his first invasion we loweredtheir readieness for the most in the later stages.
