Did they really? Because it doesn't seem they are making a damn difference at all considering that this is the most people we ever lost. After these past failures of failing to accomplish anything I don't have much faith in the operative program as anything more than a waste of resources.

You have a very strange idea of what constitutes acceptable losses. This is 42K. Losing a few million people is pennies. Keep in mind that despite those losses, the population still grew 1.46% this past 5 years. Instead of focusing on the losses, you should instead be thankful that we didn't lose the cities. Xavier, a Beta-Level Pyromancer, has blown those up before.

So, yeah. You're overreacting a bit.

I do agree that we should probably check for a Nurgle incursion, because that's a lot of plagues in the administratum page.

Quit the needless panicking please

It's been a while but what's the difference space wise the last-time the orks attacked us? I mean we have developed a ton groundgame wise.

I blame yo'mama.

But seriously, holee shiiiite Dat Alpha.

Also, it looks like Ridcully has an apprentice in that Beta Veteran Primaris Diviner.
Also, to everyone complaining at a lack of combat psykers, keep faith in Grandmaster X. He will take care of all the really hard combat, along with his adoptive family the Phase Tigers.
You may have heard of them.

even a non combat alpha would be pretty op. But yeah a combat alpha would be insanely useful.

REGULAR SPACE MARINES HAVE DEFENSE STATS OF DREADNAUGHTS - OP AS HELL AND IT DOESNT HAVE THE SPEED WEAKNESS !!!!!!!!!!! OMG - we actually have a chance against the numbers mentioned.

Random question , how troll would a updated dread/terminator armor be survivability / firepower wise?

question @Durin :

1) Gonna go yearly turns maybe like the last time we were busy for few turns or staying on 5 ?
2)And does the event happen before the year the turn is in ? So the next post would be after the meetings i guess for a valinor raid , valinor invasion and garkill raid before the next turn posts if we keep 5 year one?
2a)So basicly the next story posts will be after the council meetings the valinor and garkill attacks?
first Tactical Dreadnought Armour, better known as Terminator Armour not full Dreadnought Armour
1. possibly
2. yes
2a. yes

Shit shit shit fuck! FUCK! Two Nurgle sorcerers on the same turn where we get our first Alpha psyker. This is not good, this is a sign that something bad is going to happen, maybe even incursion.

@Durin

1. Since an Alpha psyker is kind of a massive deal, is it possible to dedicate Ministorum and Telepathica actions to tutor the Alpha throughout its learning, not just at the trials?
2. Do we have protocols in place for preparing for a daemonic incursion if we think (but not really know) one is coming?
1. yes
2. yes

I'm guessing the Alpha Psyker crit his sanity roll? (Or critfailed his insanity roll, as it were.)

Did he crit confirm?

@Durin

1. Is our Alpha on the low end of an Alpha or the high end? (In terms of power)
2. How sane is he/her?
2a. Is it a him or a her (Or omakes?)
2b. Do we have his/her name (or Omakes?)
3. Typically, when do major psykers know/select their specialty? (At what age)
4. With evolution, is it possible that in the future psyker characters innately have higher control?
5. From the divination, is it 2 years from when Ridcully took the Divination action, or 2 years after this turn?

1-2. have not decided,
3. within a few years of being found (2-4)
4. eventyally yes but tha is a long time away (1,000s of years)
5. 2 years from when he took the action

I wonder if Avernus wants us (the Trust) to succeed, so it's helping out by building us some nice Warp-based communication/transportation throughfares.
Intra-Trust Webway might be a thing.

Over the last five years losses to wildlife attacks have decreased significantly, with an average of 1,320,000 soldiers falling in the line of duty each year. Almost a quarter of these casualties were caused by the Ammut Crocodile attacks in Duat, which are now confirmed to have a Wildlife King.
another black crystal item?

We have been dealing with betas for ages with less losses than we had this turn.

They were both sorcerers of Nurgle. The third one got eliminated with essentially no damage.

Also, cancelling a program is stupid, since quite frankly shits only going to get worse. It's like cutting the budget for the army because they lost a battle and your home nation is being invaded.

There's no other way to put it.

I am assuming that losses were already decided and that Durin just made the chaos psyker Nurgle followers and so that they were nurgle cultists irrelevent. And progarms get canceled all the time because they were found to be not as effective as they could be or they just weren't working out. We pretty much spent a ton of time and resources to start a program which would put our psykers in more danger by putting them on the front lines which increases their fatality. Only for them to not make any noticeable difference the turn they are implemented and for the worst loss of life to happen the turn after.

I wouldn't have mined the operative project taken some time to finish but it taking 35 years to finish after we spent decades just getting it started locking away one of actions for that time seems extreme. Not to mention that any time it's asked how much they would actually help Durin doesn't give a straight answer and just says that they would help. Really worried that by the time we do get them they aren't anyomore helpful then the dedicated battle psykers we send with our witchhunters which against don't seem to help much or even noticeably. So unless Durin gives an actual number I am just going to assume that they aren't going to be worth all the effort we are putting into them and why I think we may just want to put the resources towards something we can accomplish much more quikly to help with the psyker problem.
