I feel somewhat tempted to petition for the new Magus Biologis to be named 'Magus Biologis Hexius Saren', if only to continue the joke started by Tertiarus, then Quintus Saren.

Mm, I'm not too clear on how the CK2 system, so I just thought after your base stats were accounted for, only dedicated action could increase them and you got the rest of your bonuses from traits, is this right?
Yep, but increasing base stats isn't easy.

We've had actions that have increased our martial by at least 2.

In any case @durin clever name for the Marines.

To those who don't know the Varangian guard were an elite unit of the Byzantine empire in the 10th-14th centuries, made of Germanic immigrants especially Noresmen (they guarded the emperor they were so good.)

And yes they were originally vikings.

Quite fitting for us I think, though now the marines are the Romanesque immigrants to our germanic/nord lands.

sort of, he kept his position but came within 1% of losing it
HOLY....

Lucky us then.

I don't suppose that Complete Examination (Species) is superior in some way to the combination of Preliminary/Detailed/In-Depth Survey, because it has a total of 7 years as compared to 1/2/3 years?

Tranth survived, so did Britton till a demon killed him.

But now BOTH our Magos Biologis have been killed BOTH by a bleeding Psychodactil.

@durin if we took an action to investigate Psychodactrils could we reduce the chance of them killing our Biologis, because they are irritating.
possibly, I forgot that that was what killed the first Saren

Question: Why hasn't anyone had Tranth examine The Well of Urd's automated factories by now? Seriously the thing has a 99% chance of success. Or the rest of the things like Vortex munitions or the Super-Exitus stuff?

To be honest, I saw this coming. His combat stat sucked to be honest. The majority of our other characters have either high combat, survival perks, or both.

Let's just hope this next Magos Biologis has decent Combat.

@durin Also why is there no option to expand our mines now that one of the forge cities with mines is finished?

Saren died... ugh. We should have another clone somewhere, right? No? Damn.

Hopefully this new guy's combat stat will make him far less likely to die.

We've been waiting on the Collegia to do it as an automatic action, but frankly they seem to be unable to finish it in spite of the high success chance. I'm tempted to just get it over with at this point.

Now that Saren has died, I'm expecting Caroline to be the next major character to die. Let's hope she can get more combat or a trait that increases survival before it happens. Honestly being on Avernus with a combat under 30 is a bad idea. Heck, under 35 is a bad idea.

By the way, Caroline and Fabricator General Scott both have low combat (by Avernite standards), they're the next most likely to die.

After looking over the first page links have a question since I can't seem to find this information do we have any hard information on the various animal and plant life on this death world?

Most of the names of these creatures make it pretty obvious just what they do but not all of them.

most of the information is in the Adeptus Mechanicus post under biologis

Consideration of options:

Important

Duat PDF: Formation - Prevents us from losing cities that we spent so much effort on.

Recommended

Phase Infantry Battalions: Planning - Actually put our research stuff into practical use.

Expand Void Infantry- Prevent Boarding Actions.

Militia Air Force: Imperial Era - Make our Militia OP.

Void - No idea

Important

Expand Juve-Nat Factories: All - Running our of Juve-Nat is very bad.

Advanced Juve-Nat Factories: All - That includes Advanced Juve-Nat.

Fjol IV Colonists:... Just don't take the Light option, it's pointless. Nor should we take the Extreme option, since population growth on Avernus is _important_ like super important. -250 Million people each turn will hurt us badly.

Ion Shields: All Hives - Helpful in case we get invaded. Although I suppose we could just trust in our navy *Shrugs*

Ion Shields: All Cities
- Ditto

Diplomacy - Nothing really new here. Just take note of the hidden Diplomatic Relations (Quartok) action.

Arbites - Fairly obvious; Just take both Elite Operative actions.

Explorator
Examine: Automated Factories, plus something with good odds of success.

Biologis
In Depth Examination (Implantation Spider) - Deal with any possible quarantine issues, then move on.

Fabricator
Expand the Forges, we need the AM.
Astartes Connections fairly obvious.

Ministorum - Fitting in a 'Those in the Shadows' action with the rest being 'Keeping the Faith' on Fjol IV should be fairly safe.

Preface: Options for the Options god.

Sad part?

Everything is important and helpful.

Psyker Regiments and Choirs: Witch Hunting
Elite Psyker Squads: Psyker hunting

Chaos Psykers have been a bane to us, particularly Beta-level ones.

Compile Wards
Compile Force Weapons

We can get our Sanctionites producing helpful stuff!

Research: Immaterial Resonance
Research: Power Melody Composition

Well, you know, research.

Mentoring: Beta
- Unlikely to be important.
Mentoring: Gammas - Pointless.

Psyker Quarters: All
- We'll have to do this eventually, starting either this turn or the next. I prefer and advocate that we start this turn.

For the first time in a long time, we don't have actions to allocate to PA!

So, that leaves:
Investigate Magos Biologis Vinceo Maximal
and
Spend Time With (Person) - I advocate we spend time with Saint Lin and Headmaster Ridcully, please. They are two most irreplaceable characters in the trust as a whole.

Halving our population growth rate would suck. I'll go with Heavy, no need to swamp Fjol IV literally half-full with Avernites.
