Why are we even voting on these plans? Why not just have durin pick out the most objectively best plan out of them? I mean it's not like the votes are needed to fulfil the player involvement requirement. The debates and plan-making serve that purpose.

@durin if in we add to Enjou´s plan a stealth section of 1 Night Class Battlecruiser 8 Fog Class Light Cruiser and 30 Shadow Class Destroyer, Parnell would suggest build that section now, or to wait for some more time?

wait, also that is a bit big for a stealth section in a cheap fleet, you only really need a quarter of that at most

[X] Somewhat Less Cheap Fleet
With the change made I can live with this plan. Still don't think it has enough Cruisers or Escorts to properly guard the heavy hitters but we have a frame work to build around. 50 Descent Class Destroyers is a major fraction of our escort group, would like it better at ~20-25, but we'll see what happens.

Unless I'm mistaken, we're not ever going to use our fleet independently expect if we're being attacked, or if there's a non-major incursion of some sort into our local space (Serious ones call for the entire trust's fleets). So our fleet should only really need to that.

We're not the USA. We're more like Germany, inside NATO.

Did anyone have time to play around with making a carrier-focused fleet?

Also, I have just realized that the sort of fleet we've decided on is basically the space-borne equivalent of the US Marine Corps' fleet elements...

It seems to me that we could work this into omakes.

With our Planetary Assault Fleet type build with large number of elite quality infantry what we're speced to do is take down secondary heavily defended enemy held planets. So take Sub-Sector Valinor. If it comes out as a Chaos realm or just thinks we're one and goes to war with the Trust, Alqualondë with the Navel base or the capital Taniquetil would be the primary targets for the Trust Fleet and Army while we split off and take down Tirion or Formenos to head cap their industry making it harder to fight. So in this case We're a part of NATO with Vanaheim taking the USA's role as the big fleet, Midgard as Russia or China using a largish cheap fleet to get huge numbers of troops to landing zones and protect the transport ships, and we're the UK with a independent fleet to gate crash secondary's with our Navy then our army of super SAS grade troops on steroids.

Any assaults on Valinor sub-sector are likely to involve all our fleets and armies going after a single target at once. Maybe two in order to split their attention or draw them away from our true target, like Garkill did against us.

Also, if they're Chaotic then our most likely target is their agri-world, so we can starve their hive world to death.

Right Final Version of my plan before the dice land where they land.

With a total of 916 ships I believe this is the biggest fleet out of all the plans so far. This whole fleet is based around being in groups and escalation. If you notice the numbers based on what group they are in you will see a lot of even numbers so everything can be split nicely. The reason for this is so we can possibly conquer multiple planets at a time. Each Carrier Battle group will consist of 133 ships consisting of 23 capital ships and 110 escorts with a 4.3/1 escort to captial ship ratio. Another benefit of being split like this is that we can easily recombine into larger numbers for specialty targets very easily, also if need be call in the battleships/haywire ships. Also notice in the load out specifically for the battle groups, they are almost all armored, the reason for this is so we can take hits from the almost guaranteed planetary defenses and not loose a lot of ships while doing it.

The 108 ships of the Patrol groups are there for exactly what they are, to patrol. With 6 groups of patrol craft we should be able to keep pirates down almost constantly and anything they cant deal with we can bring in a carrier group because that group the patrol cant take out is most likely a hostile fleet.

Now a lot of you would be disappointed by the lack of a command battleship I don't necessarily say we never get one I just say that currently till we are up to strength it is not a smart choice. The reason for this upkeep costs. The Command battleship cost 540 exotics and that is the cheapest one. For 540 exotic upkeep I can buy 3 Berserker for the same EM upkeep but an increase in AM. Where this comes into play especially is the fact that I only get 2 battleships and can then use that extra 170 EM on cruisers and grand cruisers alike. The great thing about this fleet layout already is that a Command Battleship would fit in real nicely in the future based on how everything is split right now.

The stealth group is there for stealthy reasons (aka espionage and stealth insertions)

Lets see
1. Cadia
2. Armageddon
3. Any Demon world
4. Most forge worlds
5. Most SM home worlds
6. Most properly set up eldar worlds
7. Most properly set up ork worlds
8. Most properly set up Nid worlds
Those will chew through our fleet eventually for one reason or another.

So less than 4% of the galaxy excluding nids

Vote ends at 10 pm EST right? So in about 5 hours and 15 minutes? Can someone run a vote counter?

Those are far more common than you think, especially the orks.

Closer to home I estimate the Svartflehiem could probably do massive damage as they have the best defenses in the nine worlds, and Muspelhiem is a maybe as they have the equivalent of around 9-13, I forget how many they have, Ramillies Star forts.
