#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

Will you reduce the DCs as we get more experience or something ?

Ooh nice.

DCs do not get reduced. Skill levels increase your ability to overcome them.

    - [X] Accept the assistance of the Iron Bank in acquiring these things. You don't know Braavos at all, their assistance could be worth much. - A fee will be charged of course. 15 Dragons. Higher quality servants guaranteed, also discreet. Higher pay for these servants though. They come recommended after all.
    - [X] However, do not simply accept the Iron Bank's recommendations but instead have the list of servants forwarded to Aegon so he can interview and hire them personally.

Exactly. Only once per person though.

Braavos, City of Coin - Costly Choices
Braavos, City of Coin -
Costly Choices

Once you have settled your new account with the bank you move on to the next step. Getting your various valuables appraised. It takes about a quarter of an hour for the bank's appraiser to arrive, but he gets to work immediately, sorting through your items mumbling to himself. Every now and then you hear him mutter "junk" and he tosses something to the side. It seems even a Magister of Illyrio's influence is not immune to being sold fakes. Thankfully though, this happens very rarely.

When he comes upon the three stones however, he openly gasps in astonishment. He rapidly closes the bag before the teller can see the contents and orders the teller you have been working with to go and get "her" a higher representative of the bank. The teller, surprised and curious nevertheless obeys, closing the heavy door behind him.

"Dragon Eggs?" he says, looking at the two of you incredulously. "You want me to try and give a value to dragon eggs!?" he gestures towards the eggs with his arms. "I can't appraise this!"

You stand there stunned, unsure how to react. Daenerys immediately moves to remove the eggs from the pile. "Merely an oversight," she says. "We were carrying them with us, to keep them safe. They aren't for sale of course."

The appraiser takes out a handkerchief and wipes his brow. "Look, I'll stake my worth as an appraiser on everything I do, just don't ask me to appraise two things. Anything to do with dragons: eggs, dragonbone bows, and the like; or anything made of Valyrian steel."

He turns back to his work with a muttered "Valyrians" under his breath, but continues.

A few moments later a much higher ranked member of the bank enters the room. A tall woman dressed in fine silks with a cord roped around her shoulders that identifies her as a member of the bank's founding family. She has typical highborn Braavosi features, but less darkened from the sun. Like all female Braavosi merchants, her clothing is used to enhance her beauty. Because if a man or woman is too busy starting at the curve of her waist or the fullness of her breasts, they may be too busy to bargain properly.

When she looks questioningly at the appraiser, the old man simply gestures over towards the dragon eggs. The woman sees them and merely raises a carefully sculpted eyebrow before speaking. "I do hope you weren't planning on storing those here? There are some things even the Iron Bank does not deal in."

By this point you have recovered and are able to respond properly. "Of course, some things are not worth the investment."

The lady smiles in understanding. "While no dragons have successfully hatched in many years, when it comes to dragon eggs, no one knows just how long they can last and still be viable. If you should manage to hatch any of these eggs, the Iron Bank would be interested in... investing in you."

"Oh?" Daenerys asks, "and what would this interest entail? Would dragons be enough to have you fund our claim to the Iron Throne?" she says, a slight undercurrent to her voice that you've never heard before. One that you nearly didn't notice.

The woman pauses for a moment, then recovers. "Perhaps. But there is much beyond that which would be open to one who held the power of dragons. But what interest there would be would of course be best discussed once such a miracle occurred, would it not?" Her eyes trail between the two of you for a moment. "Which one of you is the head of this family? I know there were some... surprises, but I haven't received your paperwork yet. Something I intend to rectify when I finish here."

You see a familiar look come across Dany's face. One that you only see when she has lost an argument of some sort. But what were they possibly arguing about? Viserys was right. Women are confusing.

You step forward slightly. "I am the head of this House," you say, placing a hand on Dany's shoulder to comfort her. You don't know what upset her, but you want her to know that she has your support.

The lady smiles widely, her white teeth shining brightly against her lightly tanned skin. "Then I look forward to our future meetings. For now however, just know that the bank cannot store your eggs, but that anything else you wish to store here is welcome. I will leave you to look over your items for now. I may send for you at some other time however. Good day to the both of you." she departs without ever giving her name, leaving you unable to contact her, but knowing that should your dragons ever hatch she will be sure to reach out to you.

You watch her leave, unable to miss the gentle sway of her hips. Once the door closes behind her, you hear Dany mutter "I really don't like her," under her breath before going to look at something the appraiser has found wrapped inside one of the bundles of silk.

Absolutely certain that there was somehow something you missed, you shake it off as a "female thing" and go to take a look yourself. Two hidden treasures greet you.

The first is a rolled up painting of one of your ancestors. Aerion Targaryen - is written on the back. The father of Aegon the Conqueror. While his face isn't like yours, his eyes are the same exact shade as your own. It feels almost as if there were some kind of connection.

The other thing you find is much more surprising. The crown of Jaehaerys I Targaryen. It is a simple band of yellow gold ornamented with seven gems of different colors, possibly representing each of the seven kingdoms. But you can discuss this all with Daenerys later. Much as these two things are meaningful to your family, you have many other things to do today.

The total appraisal value of your goods, minus the eggs and the painting and crown comes to approximately 2967 GD. The bank is willing to exchange the goods for such here and now should you be so inclined. Of course, some of these items could also be used to decorate your new home once you acquire it.

Do you:

Choose One
[] Sell it all. You need money right now, decorations can wait.
[] Hold off. Once you've seen the house, let Dany pick some things first and then sell the rest.
[] Sell nothing. Items such as these are useful in appearing wealthy to others, and that is always useful when trying to impress.

Edit: Because someone asked, I'll remind you all. Aegon is 16. An adult by Westeros custom, a hormonal teen by ours. Dany is 15, about to turn 16 in a few months. And since I tried to make it obvious, the woman is only interested in us once we have dragons. Opportunity. Otherwise? She could care less beyond business. Of course, we would similarly only be interested in her because of her position with the Iron Bank. Great Houses have married for less. Though that would only be a possibility once eggs have hatched.

This is to serve as a reminder. Power breeds interest of many kinds. People will try to use you for power when you have it. You can either avoid them, ignore it, or use them in turn.

Discord Chat!
The discord is useful beyond just another place to talk. If you have the app on your phone, I will post messages @everyone in real time whenever a new segment is up, or when a new vote is up. I know some of you have not been getting messages from the site properly letting you know when to check the thread, so this can be a backup notification system. Inactive people are kicked from it though, since there are plenty of hidden tidbits in there. You don't have to be active when I'm on, if no one is on but you, just leave some info/questions/suggestions in there and we'll look at them when we get on.

Remember, the discord is for the Meta-game, so players of the regular quest need not go there unless they want to be a part of the meta.

tl;dr - No lurkers in the discord.

[X] Hold off. Once you've seen the house, let Dany pick some things first and then sell the rest.

While having the money now would be useful, there are some things that money can't acquire. Considering the uniqueness of some of the items we've seen so far, I don't doubt that Illyrio had some items in his treasure trove that we may not be able to buy here for decorations. Sure the money we gain from selling them may be useful, but having unique items that show not only wealth but class will probably be very important in the future when it comes to making impressions on those we invite into our home. The painting and crown are just some examples of our heritage and history, having luxurious items to show our wealth will no doubt allow us to ingratiate ourselves with potential contacts and allies.

Besides, this will probably make Dany happy, and you know what they say, "a happy wife makes for a happy life".

[X] Hold off. Once you've seen the house, let Dany pick some things first and then sell the rest.
-[X] Hold off on selling until you know how high society presents itself in Braavos
-[X] Make sure not to sell heirlooms or other interesting or useful stuff

I'd like to appear wealthy, but I'm not sure if that would fly as well in Braavos as it would in the free cities. I really don't want to commit a blunder by furnishing like we're a filthy rich merchant prince when the social elite tries hard to appear conservative and down to earth. We can always pull a Xaro Xoan Daxos or whatever he is called later and fake being filthy rich if that's needed.

You're not likely to pull a Xaro. You aren't that good at subterfuge having practiced it very little. It isn't likely to even occur to you.

We should try to include Daenerys opinion in our votes.

Okay, so, I assume everyone is with me when I say selling the Conciliator's crown off is Not on the table? Like...they could offer the Braavosi treasury, but it's the Conciliator's Crown, and we are a King. Apart from that...well, I'm not particularly attached to great-great-x granpa's face...

[X] Sell nothing. Items such as these are useful in appearing wealthy to others, and that is always useful when trying to impress.

We can always sell it later if needed. We have no pressing need right now.

The does not include selling either of our family treasures.

[X] Sell nothing. Items such as these are useful in appearing wealthy to others, and that is always useful when trying to impress.

We have no need for funds at the moment and the items might make good gifts.
