#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

Also, interesting how my point about voting mattering came up here... All those votes for "forget the past" yet everyone actually voting cares about legitimacy with the Iron Throne. Lurkers.

The vote was to make an empire. Taking the Iron Throne adds an entire continent to that empire. Doesn't mean we'll be limiting ourselves to Westeros. In fact, I first want to establish a solid power base in Essos since it's divided, before facing the united might of the Seven Kingdoms.

Edit: Apparently immortality is winning too. Welp. Seems we're Lord Ruler now and this is the Final Empire. :D
If we go for immortality first, and defeat the WWs using our essosi army and dragons to aid them, the Seven Kingdoms will probably bend over backwards to make us the emperor.

Eh, the Immortality I'm offering is that against time. You can still be killed. Everything dies. You just have to try hard enough.

I wondered when someone would ask this question.

As far as you know (you were a baby at the time so you only know what the maid told the Targs and they passed on to Viserys) she saw the birth of Jon, but also saw the promise Ned made Lyanna. He then told the baby (as people are wont to do, talking to babies as if they can understand) that he would name him Jon, his bastard to keep him safe. She would have given you over to Ned had she not seen this. For some reason she was willing to risk much to bring you to dragonstone. One hell of a loyal maid. You don't know why.

Robert as far as you know doesn't know of your existence or the manhunt would be much worse. As a son of Rhaegar, trueborn or not, you are a dangerous pretender. Viserys and Dany are bad enough, but they are children of Aenys whom everyone hates. Rhaegar was beloved until his supposed "kidnapping and rape" of Lyanna, a fellow noble. If word ever got out that the kidnapping and rape were merely an elopement... Your claim would be very difficult to put down. Especially if word got out about how badly Robert is handling the kingdom's debt.

I should mention that even Aenys, the Mad King, was smart enough to keep the treasury full. It is said that the treasury was crazy full before Robert squandered it away. He has literally no excuse. When even a madman knows to keep the Iron Bank off of their list of debtors, or else at least keep up payments if they are indebted to them, you know it's probably a bad idea to owe them money.

Time's up people!

This was a great experience for you guys. You started looking into things beyond the obvious, and more importantly pointing those things out to each other. Remember, this Quest is a team system! It doesn't matter if you vote wisely if others don't because one vote doesn't mean anything on its own. Don't just vote. Explain your reasons. Talk with each other. Ask me questions. Listen to each other's ideas and consider their evidence; but don't take anyone's word as law unless I confirm it. They could be right, but I'm QM and I could miss some info that ends up making them wrong in the quest. I'm human after all, and can get some lore somewhere wrong. Me being wrong on something could make a bad idea a good one.

Didn't Tywin sack the city before it was gifted to Robert? I had that idea, nothe sure if it is true tho.

This is what a quest should be about to. Discussing various points of view and while doing that getting the best possible outcome for our characters.

Actually I think it makes sense. I'm one of those voters who voted for forging a new empire.

For me it has nothing to do with Westeros. It has to do with the prestige of our House. The restoration of our family's honor. I have no desire to go through life knowing that my ancestor's will forever be remembered as those "crazy guys who kidnapped a woman and that other guy who kept stabbing himself on his chair." Moreover, the Targaryen name still has some level of power and prestige and would likely allow us to maneuver in Essos much more easily than as a Blackfyre. Also, there's a strong charm in being able to just leave Westeros be, it'll serve as a good lesson to our own descendants that the Crown only belongs to a man/woman who rules well enough to deserve it. In contrast, as a Blackfyre, my entire army has been pining for Westeros for more than a 100+ years. They're never going to give up that dream and create a new world for themselves in Essos. If they were that type of people they would have stopped trying to invade every other 100 years a long time ago. There's also something inherently charming in being a Royal House that failed due to it's members own immorality and as a result is determined to never fail again.

Okay, whether Blackfyre or Targaryen, one thing stands clear. We need Qyburn before the Lannisters get their claws on him, he's madly brilliant and a Maester is good to have on hand either way.

I know its not really relevant to the topic, but it would be good to have him on beck and call.

Braavos, City of Coin - Continued
Braavos City of Coin - Continued

When you get to the bank you get a small room where a banker will assist you with your new account. You announce yourself as Aegon & Daenerys Targaryen. When the teller mentions that tales of your death must have been greatly exaggerated, you explain that you are not that Aegon Targaryen. That rather you are his half-brother, by Lyanna Stark. Establishing your identity with the bank is important after all.

At these words the teller's brows raise and he looks towards Daenerys for verification. She merely smiles and nods her assent. The teller looks back at you for a moment, seemingly memorizing your features before turning to Daenerys.

"We were informed by Magister Illyrio of Pentos that you may be coming here at some point. We weren't expecting you for another few months or perhaps even years however. He hadn't mentioned any Aegon Targaryen though, only Daenerys and Viserys." He pauses and looks back at you before continuing. "While I would have no personal issue with allowing you access to any Targaryen accounts here, based on Daenerys' testimony which leaves you as the rightful owner, bank policy must be followed. Where is your uncle? I can speak with management and let them know that your... aunt verified your claim, but until they give word, the easiest way of gaining access to your family's funds would be to simply have him claim the account and sign it over to Aegon here. We already were prepared for his acquisition of the accounts after all."

Dany goes to answer, then hesitates; looking to you for guidance on how much you wish to reveal to the bank.

"My uncle is otherwise occupied with a fairly important task for our family. He will be away for quite some time. I understand that certain policies need to be upheld however. Daenerys is quite willing to fill out whatever forms are required for her to give testimony to my lineage and claims of legitimacy rather than bastardhood. I assume there is a waiting period of some kind for these things to be properly handled?"

At your acceptance the man visibly relaxes a bit. Customer service is important even here, after all. "Unfortunately yes. These things are very delicate and the bank has a reputation to maintain. In order to ensure security for all funds any such claims must be given time to be investigated. Discreetly, of course. While this may cause you difficulty here in the present, please be assured that we would also do the same once the account is in your name if some other claimant showed up rather than simply taking the funds out from under you and calling any monies spent due."

You smile reassuringly at the man. No harm in being pleasant. "Of course. Then we will simply open a new account here with myself as primary and Daenerys as secondary, and once your investigation is complete simply move those funds into my new account. I'm certain the Iron Bank understands discretion is highly prized for a person in my current situation and will act accordingly."

The meeting goes on like this for a while. Pleasantries exchanged with rules explained, forms filled out in triplicate by both Dany and yourself. You deposit most of the wealth into the account, leaving you with 1 Golden Dragon, 50 Silver Drakes, and 50 Copper Wyverns on hand. One snag does show itself however. The Iron Bank has no means of contacting you, as you have no home to list. You confirm your intent to purchase a home now that you have arrived in Braavos and will be able to provide one soon. The bank offers their services in both finding a home for sale, as well as finding staff to work it. Servants, guards, all that a Targaryen of you and Daenerys' stature would require.

Do you
[] House Searching/Servant Finding/Guard Hiring
- [] Accept the assistance of the Iron Bank in acquiring these things. You don't know Braavos at all, their assistance could be worth much. - A fee will be charged of course. 15 Dragons. Higher quality servants guaranteed, also discreet. Higher pay for these servants though. They come recommended after all.

- [] Decide to look into these things on your own. Less pay for the servants, no fee, chance of quality severly degraded in terms discretion, and you may not get quality in terms of skill. They can be trained up though, and you might luck out.

- [] Write-in (Decide to accept their help in say houses but not servants or some other mix. Fee changes accordingly.)

Funds - You have a total of 9,563 Golden Dragons, 247 Silver Drakes, and 89 Copper Wyverns left from Illyrio. The small statues and such are not appraised as of yet. 10 CW per SD and 15 SD per GD. A gold bar (called Golden Talons) are worth 78.4 GD (The value of a single GD in canon currency.) A hearty meal at a pub or inn is about 3-5 copper per person. (About $15/$25.) A feast about 1-2 silver per person. A meal for nobles or royalty is about 3 minimum silver per person. (Some places are ridiculous. You know those fund raisers and well known places that rich people attend. $300 a plate for food that doesn't even fill you up.) Standards change over time and depending on where in the world you are. They should be fairly similar though unless a place is having a major depression or something.

[] How much do you take on hand?
- [] Write-in

Please use currency denominations. X GD/X SD/X CW.

Homes found by the Iron Bank are also "verified" as in they are the equivalent of modern day "up to code" standards. Otherwise you may find a house that ends up needing work but looks good on the outer layers.

Dammit, oh well.

I'd say we trust the Bank, they would ensure the safety of important clients, after all.

I'm shit with funds so I'll let the... Rest handle it. We could always contact the Golden Company to hash out a deal for their service, protection, and eventual (I hope) servitude.

It may cost more, but what we pay for in a higher price we make up for in a guarantee of quality service and standards. Plus it helps us help get us on our feet quicker. Trying to screen for discreet servants seems like something that will be a hassle due to the fact that personally screening all the applicants could also work to end up hurting our anonymity. Our features are not exactly common here in Braavos, and people talk. We really do need to get started quickly if we wish to hit the ground running and start to get ourselves set up, maybe start a business, get allies.

As for the issue of how much money we take with us on hand? Yeah, sorry I am shite at math, so I will gladly listen to anyone with better advice on that.

Quick question for the QM? Will any home the Iron Bank represents us come fully furnished or will we need to buy that stuff separately?

By the way, next segment you get a look at what you took from Illyrio (Daenerys' and Viserys' rewards) and you find out that you have freaking DRAGON EGGS in character.

Also, fuck yeah! Let's hatch 'em!

Edit: I now see that you've ready fixed that. Also, we need to spill some blood on that book already.

The Iron Bank will recommended several homes. Some furnished, some not. Dany may appreciate the chance to apply her more "womanly talents" (this isn't modern day people!) if she is allowed to furnish the home herself. Of course, she may also care more about learning to fight and protect her family. She is a Targaryen.

Gotcha, good to know.

Do we know how long it will take for the Iron Bank to verify our claim, or is that rolled? I think that may be something we would want to consider later when we are looking for a home and working on our finances.

A hundred dragons is a small fortune on it's own. We can always get more if needed.

You presume that it may take about 2-4 months.
