Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

@Lunasmeow I'd like to use my nat20 on this fight.

I'd much rather have the treasure ships at the back, protected by our fighters.

For all you know, Boromun might do that. Either vote the same way, (as you have) or make your own vote. They saw your idea earlier and rejected it. Repeating your earlier idea does nothing. Making your own vote can do something.

To explain - Providing an idea to make a vote better makes sense. But repeating yourself to people who ignored you, (without providing a better explanation/argument/reason why of course, because that would again make sense) is just... wasteful. Why do you think they'll listen the second time if they didn't the first? Don't complain about it, do something about it. (Especially when I just watched you talk with them about it in the discord chat, and they told you why they didn't do that.)

Hmf, fair 'nuff.

More on Bantis
Oh, since he's dead now, I feel like I can tell you all some of Bantis' real bio:

In their time in close proximity while hiding on the boat, he noticed Vezenka's depression at losing her ship's captain, not to mention her mother. Leveraging that against her, turned it into an emotional dependency on him. He also convinced her that he loved her back and that they should get married. In reality, he was only looking forward to leeching off the work she did. When they were inevitably discovered by the ship's crew, he persuaded the ship's owner not only to let them go unpunished, but also to provide them with jobs. He secured work helping the old merchant with managing his bookkeeping and counting coppers. After they reached Braavos, they found a group of the worshipers of their gods and joined them.

He loves reading and doing math. He enjoys doing his job. He doesn't currently have any ambitions, being content where he is now, doing the minimal necessary to lead an easy life. He loathes physical work and enjoys getting others to do the work he doesn't want to do. He hates being in fights and always avoids them, preferring to settle things using words. He dislikes his own appearance and he hates when people mistake him for a woman, but he can't seem to grow a beard or even a wispy mustache. He hates his wife and having to pretend to love her, but he enjoys the long voyages her ship takes her on. He doesn't particularly believe in the Fourteen Flames, but pretends he does in order to fool his wife. He hates zealots of any kind, especially those of R'hllor. He is fine with slavery. He prefers cheaper fares and hates expensive stuff, seeing them as unnecessary and superfluous. He can't stand the tea his wife loves so much.

During his wife's long voyages, he enjoys going to the whorehouses with the money he has made by fudging numbers on his job as bookkeeper for the old merchant. On one such trip the previous year, he met a young girl he soon became infatuated with. Learning more about her, he found out they had a lot in common which deepened his interest in her. After hearing how she too worships one of the gods of old Valyria, he brought her to the group of worshipers he belongs to. But he instructed her to pretend she didn't know him, and was there on her own, because his wife was also part of the group. Now, after a year, he knows he is in love with her, but is currently content in how their relationship is at the moment.

Still need a tenth vote for me to update...

Noticed a SPAG error:

She goes to protest again, and you decide to once again use mummers tales for inspiration. "You pull her to you and kiss her fiercely before speaking. "Wait for me. I swear I'll come back to you. Bar the door." You rush out and slam the door shut behind you before she can utter another word of protest.

No speech mark needed there.

Finally, A Battle - But... What is that!?
Winning Votes

Face the pirates, and have Boromun lead, using your numbers advantage as best he can.

Finally, A Battle - But... What is that!?
First Week of the Seventh Month 297 AC

"Boromun, take charge. I'll be watching and learning, but as of now you are leading this battle. Your experience is invaluable as I have never even seen a naval battle, let alone taken part in one, or led one." You know that you are in charge, but a good king delegates that which he cannot accomplish himself, and trust his advisers. "We destroy them all, to the last man."

Boromun looks at you strangely, then nods and begins to give orders. "Pull about!"

Ships are moving in ways you don't fully comprehend. You open yourself to your gifts of command and battle from Balerion and you begin to understand the basics. Boromun is having the ships change formation in a way that keeps most of the ships at your command in-between the cargo ships and the pirate vessels, but at the same time keeps some of the fighting ships back, just in case of ambush so that the treasury is not unprotected, and can be defended until the other ships can come to their defense.

Time passes slowly yet quickly at the same time. It always does in tense situations like this, and your ships come ever closer to the pirate vessels. However upon reaching them you find the decks empty, like the ghost ships of seamen's tales. It is eerily quiet as your ships come alongside, and you begin to board the ships.

"Carefully," Boromun instructs. "This may be the strangest trap I've ever seen, but it certainly is one. Find the pirates, and keep your eyes open."

You board the enemy flagship with Matalarr and a contingent of men, leaving Boromun on board your ship to defend it and Dany. The enemy flagship is a giant of a galleon, much like your own in fact, just somewhat older and not as... uniquely decorated as your own. Despite its apparent age it has been well kept up, but the silence you are hearing is unnerving. Even the men with you, more battle-hardened than the rest of the hires, as Boromun and Matalarr kept the best on your ship for your personal protection, are starting to look uncomfortable. Still, there is naught you can do but press on.

Searching the ship leaves no end of confusion. Every room you find is empty. The kitchens have tables set with food, food that has rotted with the passage of time and has maggots freely growing within it, and the men's quarters have all their items still within, but are empty of any signs of life. You head towards the captain's quarters hoping to find some answer to this mystery, as the men begin making signs to ward off evil spirits and the like, their unease becoming ever more apparent.

When you open the private cabin the door sequels in protest. The hinges have not been oiled in many a day, but nothing more happens. You slowly enter, looking around. The room contains all that you'd expect: Gold, trophies, maps... but once again is devoid of life. Something within you screams of danger and caution however. As you get closer to the rear of the ship you begin to see something... different.

The walls and floors of the chamber have strange... growths, is the only way you can think of describing them. Some strange kind of algae perhaps? It is covered in a sort of whirling pattern with small swirls every so often. You reach out to touch it when you body suddenly locks up, refusing to go any closer to the strange substance despite your commands. It has the same feel as when Balerion's blessings guide your blows, only a forceful command instead of a guiding hand. You cannot touch this. You back away as you hear the Voice of your God in your mind.

'BURN IT ALL!!!!'

You stumble backwards from the force of the Voice, one you've never heard directly before, when one of the men comes into the room. "Lord Velaryon, we've found the men. What's left of them anyway." You look at him and don't answer for a moment before nodding. "Take me to them. And let no one into this room. There is foul corruptive magic at play here. Anyone who enters may consider their lives forfeit."

The men nod and two stay to guard the door. The others lead you deeper into the ship, down to the holding cells, no doubt normally used for transporting prisoners to be sold into slavery. You see several of the pirates, begging to be let out, screaming that everyone needs to get away from the ship, that monsters have taken over and that you must leave before it is too late.

There is more of the strange algae like substance here too, and before you can say otherwise one of the men reaches out and touches it. The pirates scream a warning, too little, too late. What you saw before as simple swirls open, and eyes stare at you. That's when you hear the screaming begin.

You rush back to the upper decks, and you see fighting, on your ships! Men covered in the same strange algae like substance are climbing the sides of your ships and are attacking the men you left behind to guard them. On your flagship Boromun and his men are fighting mightily, but unless they get help soon they will be overrun by the abominations you see before you.

'What is this?' is all you can think to yourself before your body takes over and runs to join in battle. One of the creatures gets dangerously close to the door of your private cabin before Boromun dispatches him. 'Daenerys!' you redouble your efforts to get back to your ship, and start hacking away at the enemies before you. Some die like men, a stab to the heart destroying them, others ignore wounds that should kill a man. All your ships have joined in the battle, and you are lost in the frenzy of fighting for your life, only knowing that you must get to Daenerys and protects her.

Your battle magic serves you well here, as you discover that your flames seem to be strangely more lethal than they should be to the abominations, so you do not hesitate to use them on the stronger opponents. Balerion's hand guides your blades and you dance among them, ever closing on the cabin. Eventually you make your way there, and stand beside Boromun as you fight to defend it.

Men are dying, monsters as well, and you can only reflect that it seems the tales of the seafolk were more true than anyone ever gave credence as you slice a tentacle that tried to skewer you. The rest of the battle is a blur and eventually your flames putter out as your sword arm grows heavy.

Once the battle is over, you instruct the men to toss the bodies onto the enemy flagship, being careful to not touch the bodies directly, using extra sails to hold them with, then leaving the tainted sails on the enemy ship as well. As you look over the ships, you notice that not all of the men are tainted with... whatever it was that changed them, and it is possible that not all the ships are tainted as well.

You can burn them all just to be safe, or you can try to discern what ships are tainted and what ships are not. What do you do?

[] Follow the voice of your god. Burn it all.
-[] Loot the ships first though.
[] It might have just meant only all on that ship. It was the flagship, and had the most corruption. Perhaps the others are safe.
[] Just leave. Get away from here as quickly as you can.
-[] Loot the ships first though.

There are also the pirate prisoners to consider. Some are pirates, some are probably innocents who were captured. What do you do with them?

[] Burn them all with the ships. You feel bad for the innocents, but will take no chances.
[] Try to see who is corrupted and who is not. Burn the corrupt, spare the rest.
[] They were locked up for a reason. They should be safe. Release them.
-[] Release them onto one of the pirate vessels. You'll free them but not risk your men.
-[] "Release" them into your own custody. You must determine who is truly free of corruption before risking that they will get away only to infect others.

This story does have a "Cthulhu Mythos" tag. Did you not think that would come into play?

Also rolls: I rolled two d100s and got a 2 and a 44. The first was for what you fought, the second for how well you fought.

You all had only 2 d20s added. I could either add them to the first roll and let you fight normal pirates for the 42, and lose with the 44, or leave it as a 2 and add it to the 44 making 84, allowing you to fight abominations but decisively win. I let you win. You guys really need to get more active in conversations so that you can earn more 20s. I don't just give them out because I'm a nice guy. I give them out because you're going to need them.

I've told the people to roll 3d100s and to name it Luck. Go for it.

Wait that wasn't Aerys? Because every time I read "Burn them all!" I immediately think of Aerys.
