Terrene Spire - Gently ended.

So uh, im sick, like full snot out nose sadness slow body brain fog sickness. This is why theres a massive holdup in general. After completing every asset for the patreon page, my health just took a fucking nosedive. Sorry everyone. I will recover as quickly as possible.
Most unfortunate -and not the least because being sick feels absolutely miserable. Have a quick recovery.

Blech, that's never fun. Take it easy, have some soup.

Fan-work Contest
...You know, all this excitement about the tutorial and just knowing how long it will take, I feel like we should administer some action inbetween me getting all this done and well, a certain date coming up rapidly. After all, October 13th is the day Terrene Spire started. I feel like this calls for a, celebration of sorts. What I guess im saying is, well...

LET'S HAVE A CONTEST EVERYONE!

Time for another exercise! And this time, we really get to rustle those gears! Because here's the kicker:

I don't really feel like we know enough new stuff to have something interesting to create! Honestly, I feel kind of ashamed over how slow we have all been but, well. You who read the thread enough know just what has been going down and, eh, let's not dwell on it.

So instead, how about a classic?

LET'S MAKE SOME CELEBRATORY FAN-WORK!

Yes! Fan-WORKS, as in, art, fiction, sculpting, interpretive dance, poems, ANYTHING! Let's all just have a little go at creating something within the tools that we want to use! So draw, write, hop skip and leap, grab a pencil, some cinnamon and a fucking block of clay and boil up that buxom baby till it's done o'clock!

...Yeah okay I know it sounds a bit selfish to just go "gimme fan-art plox" but hear me out, a contest is a contest after all! There are prizes to be had:

THESE ARE THE PRIZES! YOU CAN CREATE ANY KIND OF FANART YOU WANT!

1ST PLACE: CREATE A HERO!
Yup, again, your creation becomes absolutely CANON! I am sorry the winner of the last contest haven't shown up yet, but trust me, they are almost right around the corner. Either way, HEROES! Hero in this case basically means "party member". Think people like Shrub Stalls! Strapping people with their own character portraits because they are important enough to actually see up close! You get to choose and design every element of this person, from tools to skills to heritage and even how to recruit them. I will help you fit them into the darosian setup and make them function properly!

2ND PLACE: CREATE AN EISHALON! Yyyup! If you thought it was unfair that you didn't win last time, how about another chance that doesnt involve being as creative? Okay okay, sorry, that sounds really rude. Either way, same deal as the first place in the last contest! Make a CANON Eishalon! Same gig as before too, I will help with setting it into the world and everything will be stellar!

3RD to 5TH PLACE: CREATE A MONSTER! Common creepy or curious critters who craddle the corners of DEATH! Design an enemy for Zest and company to run into! Same deal, I will help and it will all go smoothly!

All winners also get a free sketch from me of anything they want. Except first place, they get two.

So yeah! That's the games friends! And now, the deadline:

THURSDAY OCTOBER 13TH

Let the celebrations begin! Thank you all for reading Terrene Spire! Let's have some fun while we count down till the anniversary! Heck with the coming landmark, how about showing Terrene Spire to some friends? Word of mouth is a powerful tool! You can help us both that way!

Waaaait, creating these are the prizes, not the submissions, yes?

Hmm, I have an idea for an Eishalon, though it may be a bit terrifying and unlikely given what I'm going to base it on…

Well had this idea for a hero being this wanderer that literally travels everywhere doing good when he can and then disappearing before he gets too attached to people.

Sounds like fun. Let's see...Maybe need to reread a bit to get a better handle on the canon. But then...Heh.

G-guys, it doesnt have to be a new character! You could just draw or write about the ones already in there.

but anything is appreciated either way! If you wanna insert characters or create new ones based on what you know freaking go for it my friends! I support every creative decision! And a full all free reign!

"Spectrum Shatters and there were GREEN.
The first Gathering was under a massive tree, where energy danced and slid. A handful at most, they came to agree, and to build legacies. Followers were accepted, and great works wrought upon the land, many of which can still be found today.

Then the first was slain and the war began. The Green retreated to the outskirts, thinking nothing of pulling down and recreating cities to stay ahead of the marches of their adversaries. Power pulsed through the ground, as it was retrieved and put to use in unparalleled machines with which to fight back, as terrifying in scope as they were limited in function.

Creations were toppled, great works undone. Ruins where before they were unimpugned. What little left has withdrawn from the land. Dreaming, of the day that they could remake it all."
-Piece of the Spectrum Lotus.

"Season to season, the land remains unchanged. Ever evolving but ever the same. Work for work, we exchange with our kin. But for every ending, there is a begin."
-Common inscription

Basically, in this imagination, these are the unholy cross between dwarves and druids: hard work and diligence conquers any difficulty, and the land is valued for everything it can provide. Industry met with the magics of the other races and basically ruined everything forever, because that was the kind of war that it was. Still, the Greens are around, and building for the day when it seems that everyone can either get along or it comes down to Round 2: The End Times.

Wooot! I love me some contests! Now, if only I can find some time when I'm not busy all day with homework. :p

I'm loving the entries so far, @ShieldCrown's seems like it could be a clan of monstrous outsiders, something like Robin Hood and the Merry Men: Eldritch Edition, and I love how @DaLintyGuy managed to slip in some sweet rhymes with that already awesome piece of lore!
edit: oh boy, I can't believe I missed @Massgamer's. That sounds like an awesome concept, I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Whelp, now that I have a proper working drawing program and if I can find some time away from work it looks like I'll be fixing up some of my Eishalons from last contest and making new somethings.

TO THE SKETCH PAD!!!

If you can guess on who they're based on, I will give you a cookie.

I'm going to be honest, even if I get 1st place I'd much rather design an Eishalon. So how about I write a story or poem about the Eishalon I want to make?

Edit: It was recommended to me that I hide this under a spoiler for safety reasons.
WARNING: Bright, flashing colors.

And here's a non-flashy version:

@Familiar, Um ow. Can you hide that behind a spoiler tag or something?

And what's the hertz you have to keep red flashing lights under to comply with a certain "Porygon" law? I'm pretty sure that one has the lowest hertz.

Oh boy, an opportunity to refresh on the tales of the ring dancer! White/black/gray are staying together, but all the other factions are being refreshed under the assumption that none of the colors actually lumped together, so expect about... six short stories of murder? I'll be grabbing some of the Eishalons that didn't win from last contest and telling some tales from them as well, maybe combat, maybe just chilling with some of the more stable ones.
