Taking the Mickey: A Save Disney Quest

[X] Tomorrowland 2055: Tony's first idea, within your original scope for the project, turning Tomorrowland into an intergalactic spaceport. Would add a second level to the land consisting of shops and restaurants, and would be a theme to last for decades to come. Will follow initial outlay for project scope.

Do we still have a shot at Star Wars Star Tours?

I hate tomorrowland 20155 as proposed and everything about it. It seems like a complete teardown of tomorrowland.

Please, propose a write-in then. I would much prefer a theme that can both stay-in-date easier and be closer to the original theme of being a true "Tomorrow" rather than generic sci-fi, but you need to reach out there with ideas man.

As it stands, adding the Alien ride is a good setup for starting to develop more immersive theater experiences. And I think the Jules Verne land would definitely be better served in our European park. It would probably make people a lot more receptive and interested, since it shows that we're looking to honor national icons. Hmm, I wonder if we can influence things at the park in order to draw on more local culture and legends from all over Europe...

Discoveryland would make more sense in France, plus since we'll be building from scrach we can build it however we want without any rides getting in the way.
Also we would have four different tommorow lands, the regular one in Florida, a more practical one in EPCOT, a retrofuturistic one in France and a far futur one in California. It would be an incentive for guests to try all four of them even if they're already been to one.

With all we'd need to change to make Discoveryland we might as well make it its own park, possibly in France.

I can see the point of the board honestly, but 5 successes is basically 1 turn of work, which is not really that much, and we don't urgently need that +5 rep. Once we have more parks and less actions maybe something like that will make more sense.

I like this because the theme is easy to update, and won't become truly obsolete until humanity discovers alien (or lack of aliens).

Unless there's some kind of massive turnaround in the next 36 hours... I think 2055 has it.

Nah, for you see, my vote counts for 50 so if someone creates that write-in that I want (I'm not good at write-ins unfortunately), I can completely change the vote through sheer vote weighting :V

You don't like my write-in?
-[K] Why Not Both?: Tomorrowland will be updated as in the Tomorrowland 2055 proposal. The park will also be expanded so that Discoveryland can be built at a later date.

"Those crystals turned out to have been long buried beacons left on Earth by an ancient alien race, and once revealed, they attracted the attention of the whole galactic community." Another sketch, this time of the central Rocket Jets tower, redone with a new paint scheme and ride facade. "Tomorrowland turned out to be the perfect place for the aliens to set up their interstellar port, and the whole area would essentially be a city of the stars, with alien ships and shops all over the land." He hands a couple of sketches to you and Roy.

This made me imagine a what a 'It Was All Started By A Mouse' would look like:V

Another delay,
normally Peter wouldn't be that nervous telling a client about delay. Normally clients would have various levels of understanding when talking about broken equipment, bad weather and idiots thinking that the bucket on a loader would make a convenient place to stand. He looked at the picture in his hand. This however was not normal.
'Mister Baxter we are going to need to delay the project, again.' He stated.
'Again?' Tony asked 'What broke this time?'
'Nothing sir, it's...' Peter paused 'We found out what kept interfering with our equipment'
He handed the picture to Tony.
Tony took a look at the photo, opened his mouth began to cackle. 'That picture must have taken a lot of effort' Tony remarked 'Whose idea was it? Was it one of the Imagineers?'
'Sir, I thought that you would be in on this joke' Peter said trying to remain impervious 'There is something that wants to meet you.'
Beyond the stars a disk made a friendly dial-tone. After a gloved hand touched the device it began to play it's message.
'To all members of the Cluster-Council this voicemail was sent to report on the diplomatic mission to sector R2-D2 from which we have recently received a message. It appears that the beacon has been activated by accident by a mono-planetary society called who call their planet 'Disney world,' We have engaged in diplomatic contact with a Representatives of the 'magic kingdom' They agreed to petition to take us to their planetary Viceroy, who holds the title Michaeleinser, President of Disney. We ask the council for permission to Petition a landing-site' A sharp beeping was heard signaling the end of the message.

So guys, for the future's sake, what would be some good locations in Europe to build a park in once we hit the later half of 1989?

Some place in Southern Europe- Not Italy considering the size difficulty- or maybe some place in Eastern Europe when the Iron Curtain gets lifted.
What's the park culture and relative income situation like in Eastern and Southern Europe once Soviet influence starts officially collapsing in 1989? I don't quite think we would make enough of a profit in Eastern Europe, except for maybe a small park. The local economies would be in too much of a post-Soviet flux.

I think we're going to get like +50 board approval in the board meeting, but that's no reason to spend it on things we don't feel like we want or need at this time.
