I know I kinda-sorta hoped for this on some level... It does suck, though. Nuclear power, if managed well, could be a good long-term solution to power needs
...If managed well.
That's not going to happen now. The Solar Boom is going to pick up the pace even more as people flee both fossil fuel and nuclear power. The USSR might fall sooner or more cleanly.
And thousands of people are going to die and tens or hundreds of thousands are going to sicken and a whole region is going to be poisoned.
Making the US's victory even more clear and dominating, rather than the USSR just collapsing.Yeah The Soviet Union being desperate enough to ask for help means the USSR is dead a few year earlier than OTL.
New idea, we run anime late night on the Disney Channel and the Media Mongol is the host.Presumably, you mean Media Mogul, otherwise, I need to know more about this descendant of Genghis Khan.

Damn, children grew up in the cold war with the spectre of Nuclear war being what would cause the extinction of the human race, now children in the 80's are going to grow up with the spectre of dying because of the pollution and greenhouse gasses.
This is going to motivate so many to enter into politics, this is the kind of stuff that galvanizes the population and inspires generations to enter into the public stage.
I'm guessing cyberpunk and apocalypse settings are gonna be even more popular.
Okay, with the Chernobyl thing, I think cyberpunk and apocalypse media are going to get even more push and hard core content.Hey that's true! Man, the Terminator franchise it's going to be even more popular than before.
By the way, anyone think we should be going for more movies that are out of Disney's comfort zone? As in, perhaps movies that are more like Alien, Terminator, Blade Runner, the Fifth Element, etc?
It takes time to reach a level of acceptability for that. Black Cauldron getting high honors at the Oscars was the first push to ensure that animated products are taken more seriously than mere things for kids. We can begin pushing the letter as animation's reputation improves in that particular lane.
