Taking the Mickey: A Save Disney Quest

-[X] Don Bluth. He's been making puppy dog eyes around you. Will greatly develop closer ties to Nintendo, and max out your relationship with Don. There's practically guaranteed to be Nintendo games using Disney characters if Don goes over, and he'll likely pick up some interesting insights and traits while there. However, you'll lose Don for a year, even if that does mean he won't get into any arguments.

-[X] Wait on the tech. It worked for Space Mountain, it'll work here.

-[X] All aboard the nautilus. People (or your imagineers, at least) seem to love Verne, and you don't want to deny them.

-[X] Metroid. Something about the sci-fi game made it easier to explain, perhaps the work on the new ride.

-[X] Value.

-[X] Lille Disney.

I just read the latest bit and I cannot stop giggling. That, right there, was eome sage dice level rolls

I know I kinda-sorta hoped for this on some level... It does suck, though. Nuclear power, if managed well, could be a good long-term solution to power needs

...If managed well.

That's not going to happen now. The Solar Boom is going to pick up the pace even more as people flee both fossil fuel and nuclear power. The USSR might fall sooner or more cleanly.

And thousands of people are going to die and tens or hundreds of thousands are going to sicken and a whole region is going to be poisoned.

Well if Fission Power is dead for while... maybe it's time to look into Fusion?

I can only see the populace having one hell of a wake up call. Both sides of the cold war more than willing to burn the world apart whether through gas or uranium.

Wow, Chernobyl was so much of a catastrophe than otl that the USSR willingly admitted what happened and are asking for helping. Holy Frick, so many people are going to die from the radiation or get cancer in Eastern Europe.

Damn, children grew up in the cold war with the spectre of Nuclear war being what would cause the extinction of the human race, now children in the 80's are going to grow up with the spectre of dying because of the pollution and greenhouse gasses.

This is going to motivate so many to enter into politics, this is the kind of stuff that galvanizes the population and inspires generations to enter into the public stage.
I'm guessing cyberpunk and apocalypse settings are gonna be even more popular.
Hey that's true! Man, the Terminator franchise it's going to be even more popular than before.

By the way, anyone think we should be going for more movies that are out of Disney's comfort zone? As in, perhaps movies that are more like Alien, Terminator, Blade Runner, the Fifth Element, etc?
Okay, with the Chernobyl thing, I think cyberpunk and apocalypse media are going to get even more push and hard core content.

Have we considered making serious, adult animated films?
It takes time to reach a level of acceptability for that. Black Cauldron getting high honors at the Oscars was the first push to ensure that animated products are taken more seriously than mere things for kids. We can begin pushing the letter as animation's reputation improves in that particular lane.

@Slynnwen , I'm very sorry, but unfortunately the Master Sword will not exist until A Link to the Past several years from now. At the moment, it would just be the Sword, the White Sword, and the Magical Sword.

WELCOME TO METRO, COMRADES! REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR RADIATION PILLS EACH MORNING!

So we accidentally end the world because the background rolls go so poorly. That would be a crazy game over.

...I propose we get clean cheap energy as soon as possible and create world peace. Then when the world stops trying to destroy itself, we can then work on acquiring the Star Wars license and try not to turn it into a clusterfuck with too much modern politics in it.

It sounds like perfect endgame goals to me. The real question is which is harder, preventing nuclear annihilation or having Star Wars match Lucas's legacy.

@Slynnwen Could you post the information regarding the different roll tiers/types into a threadmark somewhere? I have no idea where exactly your previous post on it is in the thread.
