Mhm, Aoi and Mira have done good!

Let's just hope Samsara isn't smushing two disturbingly familiar dolls together in a kiss.

Supremely disappointed in lack of discussion for what to talk with Zechs about.

Sidestory to come later tonight.

Sorry about that it's just I have been busy but I have a couple of suggestions for conversation topics I am just not sure how much is known public about Zech's background along with Relena's and how much is still the same and what has changed for the this combined crossover considering we don't get a fully fleshed out our explained history for those two and their family connection.

The two could talk about the fact they both lost their parents violently even if the circumstances are very different. Our girl could ask about his current relationship with Relena and the Colony Gundam Pilots or what he thinks of the current political situation on Earth.

I hate to phrase things like this, but...

IF NO ONE DECIDES ON WHAT MIRA WANTS TO TALK WITH ZECHS ABOUT, WHEN I CLOSE VOTING, I WILL DECIDE THE SUBJECT. CONSIDER THIS AN ULTIMATUM.

look, not alot of people here are good with narrative stuff

like i know alot of gundam stuff but ask me about the character and i'm kinda stump cause that not what i choose to remember about Gundam

Alright, so a couple of quick ideas for topics to speak with Zechs about -

The Council
Nerv
how things are going in the OZ
the situation with Peacecraft and diplomacy missions
his opinion on the Eva pilots, given how young they are

how things are going in the OZ
the situation with Peacecraft and diplomacy missions

Since we know that OZ could be a source of trouble because of the Romfeller Foundation and some of it' members asking Zechs about his his history with the Organization and how that is affecting his interactions with his sister and the Colony Gundam pilots would be a good way to take the conversation in my eyes.

Got it boss I am trying to put something to together in my head but I think some info on this version of Zechs would be helpful.

Considering how Zechs is probably in his 30s and a very experienced Mobilesuit Pilot did he fight in this Universe's version of the One Year War and if he did what was his history in the EFF? I would guess that him and Treize and him fought together on the European and Asian Fronts and that is were they became fast friends. How this would inter act with the Sanc Kingdom and his childhood I and not sure however.

He does have a awkward relationship with a family member who really doesn't like fighting how he only reconnected with resonantly so he can understand family drama.

I guess you don't know Gundam Wing very well, Stewart. According to official sources Zechs is 19 in the original Wing, and 20 in Endless Waltz. Given I'm mashing the two together, we'll split the difference and say he's 19 approaching 20.

As a result, in this timeline, Zechs was too young to participate in the One Year War, Gryps Conflict, or either Neo Zeon War.

Zechs was able to enlist during the peak of Zeon remnant mop up operations after Axis Drop, and quickly became recognized for his sheer skill, which got him fast-tracked to the Specials and OZ, where he met Treize and became fast friends with him.

As for his relationship with Relena, it's fine, but Zechs feels like he doesn't really deserve to be in the rebuilt Sanc Kingdom considering that he's, you know, a soldier who's killed a lot of people. Relena respects her brother's decision but is willing to welcome him back at any time.

Aboard the Ra Cailum

You sigh as you lean against a wall.

Spending so much time on the Nadesico seems to have spoiled you; aside from your time on the Archangel a while ago, you and the girls haven't really spent much time on a ship that didn't have some form of artificial gravity.

Thus, the girls had to acclimate to navigating a ship in microgravity, while you yourself rapidly relearned habits you picked up when you previously posted on the ship during the 2nd Neo-Zeon War.

As you look out a viewport, you hear someone approach from behind you.

You turn to see Zechs Merquise.

"You seem troubled, Lieutenant Ayana." He says.

"That obvious, huh?" You quip as you look back out the window.

The two of you stand in silence for a few moments before Zechs speaks up again.

"You can talk about what's troubling you with me, if you want. I'm no stranger to tragedy myself." He says.

You glance down.

What do you talk about with Zechs?

[ ] Write-in
[X] "Can I be 'me' and 'Mira Ayana' at the same time, Miliardo?"

Zechs Marquise is a mask of a name, meant to cover up the name and face of Miliardo Peacecraft. Although his natural talents incline him to war, the Peacecraft name carries the legacy of the elder Peacecraft's pacifism. When he takes off that mask, he assumes the name of Miliardo Peacecraft, and becomes one of the symbols of Peacecraft's legacy - of pacifism, or at least an opponent to the methods of the Earth Federation.

But while the mask is on, Zechs Marquise's mask allows him to be just Treize Kushrenada's friend. Just a daring pilot in a deathtrap that has his name on it. Just a man allowed the simpler pleasures in life, whether that be fine fashion, fine wine, or a fine duel.

Mira Ayana is a woman who was literally born to resist the Council of the Veil's attacks. She is their main focus, their adversary, and their worst nightmare. The Super-Dimensional Silver Bulwark. Everyone who comes to this dimension from another dimension calls her their ally and their symbol of hope - largely through the act of continuing to live, to fight, and to win against her foes in the Council - and rallies to her side because of the actions of her parents, and their brave resistance. All of the anti-Council forces in the Solar Vanguard, whether they realize it or not, have made her into the main fighter of the war - the larger than life figure who fights the Council and all the other evildoers in the Earth Federation.

Can she be herself, when being the heroic figure of 'Mira Ayana' is so important? How?

How did I not notice that...

Well, it technically is, but it's not, I guess...deep enough? I honestly thought there would be more discussion about this.

I hope it's not a sign that I wrote Mira's character poorly...
I think it is less a matter of writing any one character poorly and just the kind of vote this is. Across a few of my quests I've done votes like this - particularly very open ended votes matched with very direct votes - and the more direct options are easier to directly compare and contrast so they end up getting more of the focus.

Plus, I never managed to click with Heero, so I don't remember Wing that well.

Voting will close later tonight. I will pick the topic of discussion with Zechs that I think is best among those already proposed, so throw more ideas out there if you want to.

Listing some topics :
  • How do Zechs and Treize feel about all that the Solar Vanguard has managed to accomplish?
  • Does Zechs have any information he's allowed to share regarding the current mission's objective and/or any hypothesis as to what happened?
  • What opinions does OZ have about the recently defeated Arianrhod Fleet (and its former parent organization, Gjallarhorn, provided that Samsara did speak about PD Era's history at some point)?

Well thanks for the info although I don't remember Zechs age being given straight to the audience in the show and him and Treize always came across as being much older then just turning 20 but I guess you can attribute that to the weird Japanese obsession with making a character not look their age in anime.

If we are going to say that Char is 20 at this point which weirdly enough makes him one of the younger Adults we have in the Organization then him being able to Enlist in the lead up to Char attempted Axis Drop where he was using proxies to engage the newly formed Londo Bell then, could he since he was hiding who he really was not have enlisted in the EFF at 17 for example. Since he missed fighting in those conflicts then was it the Gryps Conflict that saw him lose his family considering we're you are putting his age for the story

I would also if you are willing to answer but does that mean that Treize's Specials was a special unit created from the Federal Forces in the aftermath of The Second Neo-Zeon War like Londo Bell or are they even newer then that.

[X] "Can I be 'me' and 'Mira Ayana' at the same time, Miliardo?"

May UE 0084
Aboard the Ra Cailum

You look back up at Zechs before glancing out the window again.

"Can I be 'me' and 'Mira Ayana' at the same time, Milliardo?" You ask quietly, calling Zechs by his real name.

"What do you mean by that?" Milliardo Peacecraft asks as he takes off his mask.

You mull over how you want to phrase things for a few seconds.

"As Zechs, you wear a mask to avoid the hypocrisy of fighting the enemies of the world as a Peacecraft. You get to be a friend of Treize Khushrenada, with all the benefits that entails-status, power, luxury." You say.

"Ah, I understand what you mean." Milliardo Peacecraft says in understanding.

You nod before continuing.

"Like it or not, I was marked for death even before I was conceived in my mother's womb. My original parents' fates were sealed the moment they figured out the secrets behind the Council's interdimensional travel technology. They tried to hide me from the Council for my own protection, but deep down, I think they knew the Council would eventually find me. Why else would they combine the five most powerful supercomputers in the known multiverse together and order it to protect me?"

"Parents always want what's best for their children." Milliardo muses.

You chuckle.

"I guess you're right about that." You sigh somberly before continuing. "The Council believes heavily in the sins of the father, and so I've become marked as their most hated enemy, a fugitive to hunt down and bring to 'justice'. Like it or not, I've become the Super-Dimensional Silver Bulwark, a Jeanne D'Arc of those who oppose the Council. Those who have managed to flee from my original dimension in one way or another look up to me due to the accomplishments of my parents and the virtue of the fact that I still live, through my own abilities. I suspect the recent new arrivals will also flock to me for guidance given the lack of precedent."

"I don't like being propped up on a pedestal, but given the situation, I don't think the choice is mine. Can I still be myself, even when being the heroic figure of 'Mira Ayana' is so important?"

Milliardo mulls over your musings and self-doubts for a few seconds.

"Do you truly believe yourself to be alone?" He asks.

"Come again?" You raise an eyebrow.

"I mean, is there no one that you can, in your own words, be yourself around?" Milliardo clarifies.

"I guess not. There's the girls, you, most of the other pilots and ship captains..." You trail off.

Milliardo claps a hand on your shoulder.

"Then there's your answer." He says simply.

It takes a second for the meaning of Milliardo's statement to sink in. Huh, it turns out you were kind of overthinking things.

"Thank you, Milliardo." You say as he starts to put his mask back on.

Milliardo nods as he dons his mask again, once again becoming Zechs Merquise, the Lightning Count.

As the girls prep the Rose to launch, you draw them into a group hug.

"I love you all." You say quietly before kissing each of them on the forehead.

The girls reciprocate by kissing you on the cheek before you and Lucia climb into the cockpit of the Rose.

DRYDOCK INVESTIGATION

The Rose, Deathscythe, Epyon, Jegans, and Serpents have managed to access the interior of the drydock without any opposition.

Where do they investigate first?

[ ] Where the Libra is berthed

[ ] Mobile Suit hangars

[ ] Armory

[ ] Parts storage

A/N: I hope the discussion between Mira and Zechs makes sense, even if it's not as long as I wanted it to be. Please vote, discuss, and critique!

I think that might have honestly been the best possible question that we could have asked, all things considered.

Everyone felt right, and it was able to be honest.

Hmm... Now, as for the investigation...

Part of me says the Libra is the best place to start, but it is so obvious that it probably shouldn't be.

Maybe the Armory?

Think we investigate either Libra's construction site or the hangars. Armory likely doesn't have anything relevant to the investigation, so I don't think we should go there. The hangars could be of interest as a potential angle to see if what happened here was an inside job or not.

I say parts storage. With a warmachine like the Libra, all the parts used in building and maintaining such a creation can be put to any manner of deeds.
