Well, shit. That thing is ludicrously overpowered - not happy to see it here.

Leonard's likely going to be somewhat overconfident, since he believes he can match Sosuke (especially if he doesn't know about the Fairy Feather, which would strip the Belial of all the things that make it dangerous, and he's counting on those benefits to be a threat; without them and taken by surprise, he shouldn't be that difficult).

[X] Plan Safe Freezing
-[X] Aurora Blueprints (Cross Ange)
-[X] The Blue Ocean
-[X] Combattler V + Mazinkaiser

Almost the same plan as the leading plan, but decided to have the fight in safer waters, since the added risk isn't worth hampering the enemy force, especially if we go for the Aurora Blueprints, which allow us to hamper the enemy without putting ourselves at risk by fighting in the Red Ocean.

Hmm... The ability to skip along the surface of the water would potentially be a very useful ability combatwise...

If this were any other series, intentionally skipping a submarine on the water would have everyone shove you out the airlock.

As it stands, it'd probably be a flashy move that nonetheless doesn't get a dynamic kill animation.

On the difference between Red and Blue seas, I will say I think going Red is worth it...because the more we hinder the enemy, the more time we have for backup to arrive, and we can potentially put two of the enemy's ace units in a worse position.

The Behemoths and the Codarl (the Venoms) have issues with long engagements.

The Behemoths are very strenuous to pilot, so the more we stymie them, the more strain we put on the pilot. If that gets to be too much, and they stumble with the Lambda Driver, then unlike other machines...the Behemoth will effectively self-destruct as the machine will collapse under it's own weight.

The Codarls similarly have issues with the Lambda driver, but this is more of a mixed bag for us. Their main issue is extreme overheat from the driver.

Now, so long as we don't do something stupid like ice the battery...They will eventually begin to burn out. The ASs in question simply can't withstand the heat generation of the Lambda driver for very long.

Happy New Year!

Reminder that the ARX-8 does have the Fairy Feather System, a much more reliable way to take care of Behemoths and Codarls, via disabling their Lambda Drives. Therefore, engaging in the Red Sea doesn't bring enough benefits in my eyes to accept the risks from going there (we only have to delay Amalgam for 1 turn, and since we are taking Cross Ange tech, the freezing beam should buy us enough time for the reinforcements to arrive). Best to fight in the Blue Sea so that we don't put our units under unecessary risks.

Keep in mind, Sosuke is in a bit of a funk at the moment, and I'm tying the Fairy Feather System to the ARX-8's Lambda Driver, so it might not work immediately. Also, keep in mind the ARX-8 doesn't have its flight unit yet...

Also, remember what defensive feature the Belial had in the Z games?

Huh.

So he has little health, but he takes very little damage in addition to that if I remember that thing correctly as he also had that in V.

Well that will be something, on the other hand wonder if Kaiser and Kouji pilot skill would be able to ignore it or fall into that rare case that it doesnt.

But yeah the Belial is a machine we need to be careful of.

If it's like SRW V, then it's an absolute reduction to less than 1k damage, regardless of the attack.

So he's gonna be a pain in the ass, since I don't think we have anything that can break that. I wish we had something like GaoGaiGar's Goldion Crusher, which probably could, but I'm pretty sure we don't.

I was gonna, but by the time I voted it was pretty clear the research component of the vote was............frozen.

In theory, at the time, an overturn could have still happened (while I did voice support for Cross Ange tech addon, mostly because Cryo weaponry is something we're interested in due to some of our enemies being weak to weapons of those types, I would have been willing to go for other techs if people found them more useful).

Also my comments about the usage of getting the ship out of the water had someone point out that actually makes it an easier target for Mobile Suits. So it's probably for the best
