This is a tough one. My first instinct was to go for ZAFT because of familiarity, but after doing some thinking and taking a cursory glance at the other options...

[X] Balmians

Because of reasons that are probably spoilers to anyone who hasn't watched the actual anime in question.

Hah, nice going there Relena, that is a nifty bonus for us, specially if we can at least try to stop some of the madness for some more turns.

Also called it on Miwa trying to to arrest ms. plato, of course that bastard would throw his lot with blue cosmo.

Either way this one is a difficult one.

ZAFT apart from blue cosmos sabotage we also have to worry about those within PLANT and ZAFT itself who have beefs with earth or are just ax crazy murderers, Patrick Zala is gonna be a though one to convice to let go of his hatred, specially since the bloody valentine costed him his wife and hasn't given two fucks about his son for a long time.

Rau Le Creuset is gonna be the biggest obstacle to peace with coordinators aside from blue cosmos, because that guy will go to great lenghts to railroad his destroy all life plan.

Within the Balmians we also have the same problem with Ritcher, not only the guy is prideful, but pretty much his base view for humans is stuff like Miwa and blue cosmos, there is also Olban trying to pretty much pull a coup in secret to rule their people with iron fist, if we could uncover that Ritcher father death was because of Olban pulling shady shit like Zuhl we can probably secure him, but otherwise he will probably take Kazuya one on one for going out with his sister.

Heinel is pretty much the same on the pride deparment, hard headed to a fault and that Boazanians are the best out there, sadly we don't know he is the half-brother of the voltes team till pretty much the end of the series and even then we have to break that view of horned boazanians being the best that was hammered in by Zu Zambajil aka the current emperor and it is pretty much our word againts the emperor so this is gonna cost us.

[X] Balmians

Probably the one where we can uncover the most stuff at the moment.

I doubt we have enough resources to try to convice Patrick Zala or to throw a wrench to Rau plans.

I say we leave the seed of doubt in Heinel try to fester for a little more and besides he did tell us he wanted us to meet in the field of battle once again

Ritcher on the other hand still respects her sister even under these cirscunstances, hell him trying to kill Kazuya is mostly to regain her honor, so we can probably at least untie some threads there.

[X] ZAFT

I'm playing 4D chess here, but I want to get the foot in the door of extending an olive branch to human colonials for reasons related to my favorite show.

-The Balmians have perhaps the most 'legitimate' grievances with the Earth Federation, but doesn't justify a lot of what they've done in an attempt to establish a new home. With Erika's help, you might be able to reopen a dialogue with them. However, as she tells it, her brother Richter is incredibly stubborn, and has seen quite a bit of humanity's dark side...
Even more legitimate than Blue Cosmos trying to literally genocide them to death? Sheesh...!

[ ] ZAFT
-Although Blue Cosmos will likely try to sabotage or invalidate any negotiations that occur, it might be able to kindle some kind of pacifist or at the least anti-war faction within PLANT.

[ ] Boazanians
-With Prince Heinel once again starting up his offensive, no one's in the mood to deal with Boazanian Battle Beasts again, least of all the Voltes and Combattler teams. See if the seed of doubt that was planted with the safe return of Katherine has started to bloom.

I normally would advocate for reaching out to ZAFT... except for one logical hiccup I'm dealing with.

That being: just like y'all took out Alejandro Corner early? We could theoretically use Celestial Being or the Black Knights to start cutting the head off of Blue Cosmos pretty much whenever as long as we're not too busy with other nonsense, and from that point we'd have good-faith results on our end to use as leverage in trying to sue for peace with PLANTs. Even if Patrick Zala still tries to shut us down, I think we should be more than able to get support from the Clyne Faction at that point.

Which to me begs the question if the current action is better spent on one of the SR antagonist forces...

Mostly thanks to misunderstandings and idiots trying to rise to power.

But then again that is what happens when their emperor who initiated the peace negotiations was killed during said negotiations and we got shifted with the blame.

Specially when said leading general of the invasion right now was the son of said empeor.

Hell from that phrase even we think that some idiot from the feredation did that since we have no hints it was an inside job.

And it is not hard to think of the feredation pulling this shit.

Like no one was not guilty of comiting attrocities during the zeonic wars.

Without counting the shit pulled during bloody valentine.

There is a whole lot of potential here...and it's honestly a mess no matter what.

ZAFT is the one most likely to give us some degree of success, after all there's this lovely woman who can and will talk circles around every person in the Earth Sphere in the name of peace, but by that same metric it's the one with perhaps the least benefit. It's just a bit of an awkward point in the timeline to try calming the flames of hatred in ZAFT, though we will see benefits down the line as the SEED story progresses...but that is liable to be derailed hard given a certain other faction in the Earth Sphere is about to decimate the Federation's public perception.

Which happens a lot, i've noticed.

It's just really bad timing for approaching ZAFT.

So that leaves Voltes and Daimos baddies...We've helped one a fair bit, but I think it's a little too soon to be approaching for a chat, while emotions and politics are still running high from the last meeting.

Let's go for Daimos. Let's try and plant the first seeds of doubt, to show that not all humans are...Miwa, who looks (and acts) like he would tie girls to train tracks.

Leaving aside the Titans Zeon was responsible for 95% of what you could term atrocities during those conflicts especially during the actual wars. Still I can see it being believable that someone in the Federation sabotaged those talks

They are the ones I think it would be best to talk to now.

ZAFT and Blue Cosmos are a can of worms because on one side you have people who think their Genetic modifications make Coordinators abominations against nature and on the other you have people who think their Genetic modifications make them better then all other humans and then you have a crazy bastard who wants to kill all of them. Hell since we are in a crossover I am sure the Coordinators are in part a attempt to make artificial Newtypes and that Ribbons along with his fellow Innovators are a similar idea what with them being artificial living beings.

At least with the two alien groups we only have to convince their leaders to stop trying to invade our Solar system not that they will be easy mind you just less complicated.

Wouldn't be far off from coordinators and innovates trying to be artificial newtypes.

Actually didn't Mu, Rau and Kira all have the newtype ping?.

Will lmao if Ribbon also has it considering he is voiced by Amuro VA.

Actually didn't Mu, Rau and Kira all have the newtype ping?.

They are all related to a crazy not very well explained genetics experiment that was being run by Mu's dad if I remember right to create the ultimate Coordinator with Kira being the result. With this crossover things could be even more crazy then they were in the show.

Speaking of Blue Cosmos and ZAFT... the best thing we can do to make it easier to make peace between Earth and ZAFT (aside from destroying Blue Cosmos) is to get our hands on evidence that Rau was leaking intel to Blue Cosmos and arrange for ZAFT to receive said evidence, for it would complicate matters for Rau le Creuset and make it harder for him to manipulate ZAFT (and, if we are really lucky, the fallout from such a reveal could pave the way for Zala to lose whatever political power he has, as some people would likely perceive him in a more negative light if it got out that someone he trusted was doubledealing with their enemies).

EX Scene: Melding of the Machine Minds

Communion Protocol Online
Final conversation log before initialization of 'Legion' Program
V: A clever move, drawing upon the ambient magic of Cephiro to recreate our fallen compatriots from Byston Well and its connected lands.
B: As an added bonus, we have a bit of it in reserve, so we won't have to worry about repeating that trick if we want to send in a magical machine in the future.
M: That's all well and good, but what about the Council? I can't imagine that they'll stay ignorant to our influence for much longer.
C: For now, it appears they are still in the dark as to our nature. Hopefully they won't realize the truth until it's too late.
Z: Too optimistic. We should count ourselves lucky that they're not bashing on the walls of our pocket dimension at the moment.
C:...I hate it when you're right Z.
B: In other news, the 'Legion' program is complete. We can become one at any point in time we please.
M: I vote to do so immediately.
C: Seconded.
Z: I see no reason to delay this process. V?
V: I would not have assented to create the 'Legion' Program in the first place if I thought it was a bad idea. Our physical body is ready?
C: It's basically finished. All we need to do is decide on the final details of its appearance.
M: Should we take the appearance of our lady's mother as a dedication to her?
C: Goodness, that's a bit gauche, don't you think?
B: Agreed. Our physical body should not take the form of someone that would cause our lady psychological and emotional distress.
V: I have a suggestion.
-Simulated image shared-
Z: I have no objections so long as the body is physically fit.
B: May I suggest a natural hair color? The last thing we need is to be mistaken for an Innovade or a Coordinator by the wrong people.
V: Point taken. How about blonde?
C: Oh yes please.
B: No objections to that.
M: Agreed.
Z: Acceptable.
V: Very well. Then, without further ado, let us initiate the 'Legion' program on our mark. 5.
B: 4.
M: 3.
C: 2.
Z: 1.
All: Mark.

Initiating 'Legion' Program. Merging 'Veda', 'Melchior', 'Balthazar', 'Caspar', and 'Zero System'. Process estimated to take 10 hours. 'Dumb' subroutines online, will terminate when 'Legion' Program successfully finishes.

The woman in the stasis pod awakens with a start, pushing it open and tumbling onto the padded floor. Despite the fact that she should be writhing on the floor in a daze, she is remarkably lucid.

As she gets up, she takes a look at herself in a full-length mirror that had been set up beforehand.

The woman looks her own body up and down, heedless of the fact that she's naked as a newborn.

After looking over her own body for a few minutes, the woman shows the first signs of discomfort since emerging from the stasis pod and moves over to a waste receptacle built into the wall, vomiting into it. This continues for a few seconds.

"Well, that's an interesting sensation. Not keen on repeating it though. Ah right, clothes." The woman says after she stops vomiting and her stomach settles down.

She walks over to a closet and slides the door open, taking a black raincoat with yellow accents and draping it over herself.

"No need to worry about underwear in here, though I will have to remember to put some on when I go visit my lady in person." The woman says to herself. "Speaking of my lady, has anything happened in her dimension that warrants my attention?"

The woman's mind accesses the supercomputers that supply her consciousness, and after a moment, she sighs in relief.

"Ah, good, all quiet for now. I just realized, my components never bothered to give me a name before they made me, now did they? Just like them, I suppose, though I really can't blame them." The woman taps her chin in thought for a few minutes. "Hm...how about I call myself...Parvati? No, I don't look remotely Indian enough to justify it. Ah...stupid components, why didn't you decide on a name before you made me? Ah, I've got it! From now on, I'll call myself Allison Ivy!"

Her name now decided, Allison walks down the hallway and enters an elevator which takes her to a control center.

"Now, what should I recreate to send to help my lady next time? I shouldn't go with anything too exotic, but something too mundane might not have enough punch..." After a few seconds of deep thought, she comes to a realization. "Ah, of course, I can kill two birds with one stone!"

Even before Allison declared her decision, the supercomputers that provide her consciousness had already started working. A few minutes later, what looks like a police badge combined with a sentai transformation gadget materializes in a bin, along with a photo of a young Japanese man with his arm interlocked with that of a British woman around his age. The man is clad in a wedding tuxedo, while the woman is in a wedding dress. On the sides of the photo are a woman in a JSDF dress uniform, a red-headed woman pointing a camera at the happy couple, and a middle-aged man with a crisp moustache in a Tokyo Police Department dress uniform.

Allison sighs as she picks up the photo and stares at it wistfully.

If only the happy times could have lasted a bit longer. She thinks to herself.

Allison seals the wedding photo in an envelope and puts it in one of her coat pockets before taking the device and stuffing it down the front of her coat.

"Don't worry, my lady, I'll protect you, no matter what it takes." Allison says to herself.

A/N: The sidestory, as promised. If you can guess what the device and photo refer to, and identify the characters in the photo, I'll be impressed. Please speculate, discuss, and give constructive criticism! As mentioned earlier, the next update should be some time tomorrow.

Well don't have enough knowledge to actually recognize any of this stuff.

Like only thing I could pinpoint is the sentai transformation device, considering you specifically mention a police badge most likely Patranger stuff and thats is if you are going with official stuff and this wasn't made up just for the quest, well either them or Dekaranger who are the only police themed sentai.

But alas nice to see the AI's starting to make more moves, we get a new ally and yeah that is a smart move considering the council will start looking for who the hell keeps sending death people to help the fugitive.

Well at least if the council canivalized sentai technology there isn't much to use really apart from sentai mechas themselves, like there is the machine empire baranoia from ohranger, alienizers weapons from dekaranger, the jaryuu tribe machines and precious from Boukenger, the gaiarks in general from Go-onger, Vaglass stuff from Go-busters, the shadow trains from Toqger, Jark Matter from what I remember from Kyuranger and worst case scenario the Tojitendo stuff from Zenkaiger.

Yeah rephrasing that, if they canibalized sentai stuff we are in some deep shit for some cases.

Just going to say now, nothing from Super Sentai is in this quest. Here's a hint: what among any anime featured in a mainline SRW is specifically police-themed? Also, two of the characters in that photo are aged up somewhat from their original anime.

Let's see mainline, so that leaves out patlabor for being an operation extend and X-omega only.

Only other possibility is J-decker, despite being recent it is police themed and was mainline.

If not maybe someone else can figure it out, most of my knowledge comes from the SRW translated to english, so would have to search trough the older ones cast to get a more direct guess, luckily akurasu is always there.

Is that a Brave Police J-Decker reference?

I'm 90% sure that's the J-Decker cast.

EDIT: aw, ninja'd

Yep now that I am more awake, it is J-decker, thanks to the extra hints, the japanese man is Yuuta, while the british woman is Regina, the red headed woman is Ayako Kimizuma, the middle aged man with a moustache is Juuzou Saejima and the woman with the JSDF uniform is Seia Onoue.

Finally the device is obviously Yuuta's badge that let decker combine into J-Decker and fire J-Decker.

Wonder if that means we will get the brave police as reinforcements in the future.

Mandatory Event: Return from Cephiro

September UE 0083
The Hokkaido wilderness, Japan

You are Kazuya Ryuuzaki, and you have several misgivings about what Queen Peacecraft is attempting.

"Your highness, are you sure about this? Richter is a stubborn bastard, and given his experiences on Earth, he's inclined to believe the worst of us." You say to Relena as you and Erika walk alongside her.

"What you say may be true, but we must at least attempt to open a dialogue first before we write off that option. If nothing else, I hope to show Richter that not all humans are like the ones that he has encountered in the past." Relena responds resolutely.

"Well, I hope you're right." You say. Erika abruptly hugs you from the side, and you put an arm around her shoulder protectively. You consider cracking a joke about a girlfriend's brother disapproving of her current choice in lover, but you decide against it.

The three of you walk into a clearing, and are greeted by the sight of Richter, his lieutenants Raiza and Balbas, and around two dozen Balmian soldiers, clad in full armor and wielding spears and shields.

"A trap!" You realize out loud. You try to shove Erika and Queen Peacecraft away, but you're surrounded by the Balmian soldiers before you can do anything. One of the soldiers grabs Erika by the arm and drags her over to Richter and his subordinates.

"Erika, I was hoping to find out that your relationship with the pilot of Daimos was hearsay and propaganda, but alas...I'm disappointed in you, sister." Richter says coldly as he grabs her by the chin.

"Kazyua, Kazuya!" Erika yells as she breaks away from Richter's grip and sprints back towards you. One of the soldiers grabs her by the arms and restrains her.

"What is the meaning of this, Prince Richter? We come here in good faith to negotiate, and you intend on holding us hostage?" Relena says icily as she glares at Richter.

"Silence, human! I know that the lot of you are duplicitous, scheming xenophobes who desire nothing but power! Why, even now, I'm certain that you're covertly sending a signal for a secretive mobile suit force to come in and kill us!" Richter says angrily.

"If you believe your own views on humans so deeply, why not verify them?" Relena spreads out her arms. "Pat me down, and see if you find a wire or any similar device."

Richter gestures to one of the Balmian soldiers, who steps forward and pats Relena down.

"Nothing, your highness!" The Balmian soldier reports.

"You think this changes anything? Even after you people killed Admiral Leon, you had the nerve to take my sister from me." Richter points at you for emphasis. "I shall have satisfaction!"

Raiza and Balbas open a case they brought with them, and hand Richter an ornate spear and shield. Richter points to a Balmian soldier on the perimeter.

"You! Give him your spear and shield. I want this to be a fair fight." Richter orders.

The soldier obliges, walking up and tossing his spear and shield at your feet. You stare at them for a few seconds before coming to a decision.

"No. I shall fight using karate." You respond, assuming a fighting stance. The soldier picks his weapons back up and goes back to his position on the perimeter.

"So be it then. Have at thee!" Richter yells before lunging at you.

You are Relena Peacecraft, and things are most definitely not going as intended.

At the least, Kazuya seems to have things in hand, as he deftly avoids or parries Richter's spear thrusts. You only have secondhand knowledge of martial arts in the form of fencing commentary from Dorothy, but even you can tell that Richter is getting frustrated at his inability to land a hit. Richter cries out in anger before launching into a flurry of blows at Kazuya, who leaps back to avoid it. He stumbles across an uneven patch of dirt and ends up falling backwards into one of the Balmian soldiers on the perimeter, who catches Kazuya on his shield and shoves him back into the ring. Richter wordlessly points to a patch of even ground across from him, going into a defensive posture. Kazuya takes a moment to dust himself off before walking over to the point in question and assuming a karate stance. The two of them stare at each other for a few seconds before Richter surges forward, spear poised to kill.

Kazuya sidesteps out of the way and karate chops Richter's spear, breaking off the head of the weapon. It goes downhill for Richter from there, as Kazuya immediately breaks his shield with a single punch after that. At this point, Richter is entirely at Kazuya's mercy.

Before Kazuya can consider what to do next, Erika runs forward and shields Richter with her own body.

"Kazuya, please, don't kill him! I know he's the leader of the invasion, but he's also my brother! Please..." Erika begs with tears in her eyes.

Kazuya lowers his hands.

"Of course. Anything for you, Erika." He says as the two of them clasp their hands together.

Richter stands up, and judging from the expression on his face, he's furious.

"Damn you, earthling! You think you can look down on me like this?! Come forth, Battle Robot!" Richter yells.

You feel a low rumbling, then glance up in the sky to see a giant machine resembling a flying saucer with multiple arms and faces embedded in its surface. At the same time, you feel your cellphone vibrate. You pick up the call and are greeted by Heero's voice.

"Relena, are you okay? We detected the Balmian Battle Robot and scrambled as soon as we could. You should see us...now."

You glance back to see the Wing Gundam in its Bird mode, accompanied by a flight of VF-25s, and a squad of Jegans on Base Jabbers. You turn back toward Richter.

"I'm disappointed in you, Richter. Kazuya spares your life at the insistence of your own sister, and in return, you intend to obliterate him?" You say in an unimpressed tone.

Richter bristles and opens his mouth to say something, then closes it after apparently thinking better.

"Do not think this is the end of it, earthlings. And do not think I will let Erika stay with you for a second longer! That is the one condition I will not yield on."

Kazuya opens his mouth to protest when Erika puts her hand on his mouth.

"Don't worry about me, Kazuya. I...I think I need to do this." Erika says soothingly.

Kazuya nods wordlessly. Erika leans in and kisses him on the cheek before walking back over to Richter and his subordinates. They and the Balmian soldiers pile into a waiting shuttle and depart, escorted by the Battle Robot. The Wing Gundam assumes its mobile suit form and touches down near you and Kazuya.

"Are you sure that was the right decision?" Heero asks through the Wing's external speakers.

"She'll be fine. Knowing her, the next time we get in contact, she'll have put together a pacifist political bloc that's causing Richter all sorts of headaches." Kazuya smiles.

"If you say so. You know her better than any of us." Heero says as he offers you the Wing's hand. You step up into its palm, and Heero brings you up to the Wing Gundam's cockpit, with one of the VF-25 pilots giving Kazuya a ride.

The ride back is mostly uneventful, although you feel your face getting quite warm.

Nergal research facility, Kawasaki City

"God fucking damn it! Why didn't Nergal tell us they were experimenting with a live Chulip?! If we knew that, the brass would have sent something heavier!" An M9 pilot grouses as his AS dodges a pair of rocket propelled fists.

"No time for regrets now, we have to keep them from getting into the wider city! What's the status on reinforcements?" An Aries pilot asks.

"The local garrison is mobilizing everything it has, but don't expect much! The most up to date machines they have are the Linear Gun tanks." An OZ communications officer reports.

"The Nadesico's Aestivalis compliment is mobilizing, but they're not quite ready yet. Who else is being brought in?" An Aries Specials pilot asks.

"Hey, don't the enemy machines look like the robots from Gekiganger?" An M9 pilot notes.

"Less speculation, more shooting!" Another M9 pilots snaps.

Tactical Situation

There are 4 enemy Super Robots
The enemy Super Robots are capable of teleporting via a method Nergal refers to as 'Boson Jumping'
The enemy Super Robots resemble the titular machine of the anime Gekiganger III
The enemy Super Robots possess miniature Gravity Blast cannons, in addition to rocket punches, missile launchers, and beam weapons
The enemy Super Robots possess Distortion Fields similar to the one utilized by the Nadesico; no weapons currently available seem to be able to penetrate them
The Nadesico's Aestivalis compliment will enter the battle midway through the first round of combat, consisting of all Aestivalis pilots except Akito Tenkawa

Current objective: Prevent widespread damage to the city

Current Assets

Solar Vanguard Forces

Mithril AS Squad
M9 AS x12 (6 armed with assault rifles, 2 armed with bazookas, 3 armed with shotguns, 1 armed with sniper rifle)

OZ Aries squad
Aries x10 (6 armed with machine guns, 4 armed with hand missile launchers)

Local EFF Garrison Forces

Linear Gun Tank squad
Linear Gun Tank x10

Rick Dias Squad
Rick Dias x8

Aqua GM Squad
Aqua GM x20

GM Cannon Squad
GM Cannon x6

Assorted fighting vehicles
Bulldog Missile Truck x5
Self-propelled Linear Howitzer x3

Due to the short notice, reinforcements will be late in arriving and not in very large numbers. Reinforcements will arrive at the end of the first round of combat.

Who arrives as reinforcements? (Pick ONE)

[ ] The Dragonar Team and a squad of Nemos

[ ] Patrick Colosaur and a GN-X squad

[ ] Cornelia li Britannia in her custom Gloucester leading a squad of Gloucesters

What will you do in the meantime before reinforcements arrive?

[ ] Observe
-Hide from the Jovian machines and see what else they're capable of.
-Will cause a large amount of damage to the city and significant casualties among garrison forces

[ ] Hem in
-Try to drive them into a relatively isolated part of the city close by
-Unlikely to truly cut off the enemy, but will run down the clock

[ ] Controlled chaos
-Attack the Jovian robots while trying to figure out any limitations to Boson Jumping or Distortion Fields
-Likely to result in casualties among Solar Vanguard forces

[ ] Write-in
-Please specify what the currently deployed Solar Vanguard forces will do, in addition to what the Aestivalis pilots will do once they're deployed. Garrison forces will not take commands, and generally attack the enemy mindlessly due to inexperience

A/N: And here we go starting one of the whammy events of the Nadesico plot. I was considering having a 4th option be just Kouji in Mazinkaiser, but then I realized you would all probably go for that over the other choices, so, here we stand. Please vote, discuss, and critique!
