March, Year Four - Rapid Response (Kaiju)

"I think they remember us." That was all the time Oscar had for words before the kaiju slammed into Perseus with bone jarring impact. He sensed Zhang gritting her teeth as she mentally rerouted more power to the servos, and Perseus was already firing its heel spikes to dig himself even deeper into the earthworks to try and brace. "Okay, okay, good...now!"
With a sudden surge of power, Perseus's arms rocketed upwards, forcing the smaller kaiju's momentum to stumble forward. Without any command, Perseus's heel spikes retracted and he pivoted on one leg, spinning so that the kaiju's flank was exposed - and gave him enough space to rear his fist back. "Now-!" Right as the kaiju regained its footing, its maw turned just in time for Perseus's fist to slam into snout. Shards of jagged teeth flew outwards from the impact, each one creating small craters in the ground as the kaiju screeched in pain and anger.
"I didn't tell him to do that." Oscar blinked. "Zhang, did you-?"
"Not me." His copilot sounded just as perplexed as him. "Perseus really does have a mind of his own."
"Seems like it." The engine seemed to rev in response to their words, but Oscar could have sworn he heard someone chuckling in amusement. "Let's try to have some words afterwards, huh?" Additional window displays appeared in Oscar's HUD as he reached out. "Status update?"
"Sleipnir is holding strong." Diana's avatar appeared as the newest dropship's updates materialized with her. "She's taken some knocks but Tony will be happy to know the zirvitium plating is doing the job. Ninth Armored is holding their own against the other kaiju-"
Perseus reacted quicker than his pilots as he brought both of his arms in front of his chest against an oncoming spray of acid. Oscar gritted his teeth as he felt the sting of the liquid eating at the outer edges of his - no, Perseus's - forearms, and he knew Zhang was feeling something similar. This kaiju looked similar to the Crocalisk types they'd fought awhile ago, but neither this one nor its partner seemed to have the ability to carry Pterasaurs with them thankfully.
"Arc-!/-Blade!"
The blade shot out of Perseus's back hilt first, spinning clockwise in the air until it landed in Perseus's waiting palm. With a flourish, Perseus angled the Arc Blade towards the kaiju, the metal edge practically gleaming in the sun. "Orders are the same," Oscar announced. "Take them down! Now!"
With that, Perseus charged towards the monstrous foe, three wills moving with common purpose.
"Well, that's annoying."
Some of the infiltrators paused to look at the figure who had spoken. He looked human, for the most part. He wore a sharp black suit that would not have been out of place in a financial district, a charcoal grey with black shoes and a red tie. His hair was somewhat messy, but in a manner that one could claim was stylistically so.
Yet as he lowered his sunglasses, the yellow and green reptilian slits of his eyes were impossible to ignore. As were the rows of sharpened fangs as he grit his teeth in irritation.
"That's the exact same one Ozawa was having so much trouble with..." And now here it was, getting in the way of his own operations. "The old man really needs a better onboarding process." Still, the naval base had yielded some gains, but not enough to justify the loss of two kaiju.
"...get me everything you can on those models," he ordered one of the infiltrators. "Especially that one."
Rapid Response - Kaiju
Rapid Response elements have engaged kaiju forces in an apparent raid at Subic Bay Naval Base. Results will post at the beginning of next turn.
