Super Robot Quest G

I imagine that Mercury V anime slowly added in cameos from the Defense Institute's successes and products (such as the Buckler in the background and maybe newscasts about how the EUDF is getting new weapons). And characters like Anna showing up in the Institue in the background to foreshadow the intervention. Maybe even make Anna look sus just to muddle the waters.
The Kajiu vs Beowulf fight we got definitely got it's own episode to show off the kind of tech that the union was rocking

Interesting development with the Perseus, though I can't remember if Beowulf showed signs of a developing consciousness before... We will definitely want to tap the Kausen when the DFRI notices it in-universe.

Anna: Nothing to see here!
*Red King has initiated crew emergency meeting*

Including some analogy about the dangers of using the tools of the enemy only to show through great sacrifice and courage that it is the hearts of its users that ultimately matters!

I'm imagining the furious argument between fans of Mercury V anime about whether or not the EUDF will become a sort of antagonist by trying to sideline the Yukimura Institute and maybe even shut it down or take it over as it now has its own super robot to counter the Kaiju.

[X] Perseus - can still fight!
-[X] Focus on rallying the remaining Steeds on the ground. There's enough Seeker wreckage that something could be jury-rigged.
[X] 25th Air Wing
-[X] Hunt down what remains of the Pterawings. There aren't many left, mind.

Okay, that... was awesome. We may have needed to exhaust everything we had, but we were successfully able to eliminate everything but the big boss unit as a factor, and successfully bought enough time for Mercury to launch. Good job, especially for an incomplete robot!

...Hopefully Mander's got a ride we can borrow to help with the upcoming operation we've got next month, though; I don't think we'll be able to make it otherwise. I mean, this much damage, I'm pretty sure both Perseus and the Pegasus will be multi-turn repair projects.

Now I have a funny image in my head of the DFRI being under massive attack by the antagonists all working together and being pushed to the brink only to be saved at the last moment by the Mercury V and the other Super Robot showing up at the last second to help save the day and the DFRI base. The fandom of all 3 series would go nuts at this absolutely massive series of brawls one after another. A mega crossover if you will.

The Beowulf reveal would be an amazing moment in the mercury V series.

Think the team is gonna be late and show up to find thousands already dead. Apparently the union has a new secret weapon but no one expects the union to have actually made anything strong. Shows off the beowulf and sets it up like it's gonna be a story of folly getting people killed, looking like it's gonna get crushed. Then the falcon flys out of now where and the real fight begins

Giant robot epic entrance!

...Is it wrong that I genuinely want to see this happen?

DFRI got a simple doctrine: more super robot → more good.
So I want rescue team of Mercury V, Valiant and whatever horror EDF Team B have made to be delivered on Sergey Gorshkov

Also, another side update of sorts: the Mecha Roster tab has been populated with two new entries.

This update vote will conclude Saturday my time. Glad to see people enjoying the update!

Naturally, JAM Project will be screaming their lungs out while everything explodes behind them.

No, not during the scene. In their studio.

It would be very appreciated, yeah. Great theme. Got to show off the Beowulf theme in it's first fight so it can get remixed for the triple fusion. Actually having the timberwolf and Foxhound formations have remixs of the beowulf theme for their themes would be cool. And then combine them for the triple fusion theme.

It took us spending essentially everything grinding through a horde mode of two mook armies and a pair of sub-bosses to achieve the objective, so that the newly refurbished Mercury V can take on the delayed and nearly untouched Boss Kaiju for the climactic duel. This was certainly the proper strategy to take, not just because the Titanosaur was apparently so far out of our weight class that it could casually take out both the Perseus and the Pegasus (already heavily damaged or not) if it got a single claw on them, but also because that's the way these events are supposed to play out in the anime formula.

Still though, I can't help but wonder if it would've been a viable alternative to just focus all of our forces on the Titanosaur from the outset, in a race to kill the hivemind controller and shut down the whole Kaiju army at once before they could break through the barely defended Institute. Absolutely not worth the risk of course, but I just wonder if it was technically possible.

--[X] Not all of the prototype cannons were destroyed. Surely Perseus can still use one of them?

I don't see why the Perseus can't also use one of the cannons after rallying the Steeds, instead of using Seeker weapons that have already proved woefully under-scaled against the Titanosaur.

Well, damn. What a fight.

@Basarin I had a thought, It might actually be time for a new combat dropship to replace the Pegasus class. Larger and capable of holding vastly more cargo than the Pegasus class did.

We didn't have Grav Tech when we built the Pegasus. And Sasaki was pouting that she wasn't able to put anything else on it other than the smoke rounds. So putting that in will be a big help when and if we decide to build a replacement but instead of Corvette, It'll be comparable to a frigate analogue.

Speaking of the Smoke rounds, were they even used during the battle?

Would it have been possible had you known? Technically, sure. I wouldn't have given you all good odds of pulling it off, though.

That's what the write-in function is for if you want to give it a try. Since you brought it up, I may incorporate some parts of it still.

This wouldn't be a quick action - likely would take a few turns. But absolutely, this would be possible.

Speaking of the Smoke rounds, were they even used during the battle?

They weren't, on account that I forgot about them. >_> Oops.

Well, this is why I'm going through and updating the rosters and information tabs as we go. Help keep me honest as we go through this!

Ninja update: I have also updated the Pilots roster. Oscar and Xiu Ying's information have been posted.
