I will say, I'm excited to see what the Aries will punch as now. It's actually now almost in spitting distance of an actual mainline Imperial warship with the Holy Equipment and the Superior Gravimetrics added in, plus the higher acceleration.

Might get a new Bonus Trait like the Taurus did too by having two Holy Weapons added on. That'd be nice, but we can't count on it.

Equivalent firepower to two Sword-Class Frigates and accel/maneuv/survivability to a single Mechanicum Cobra.

And no bonus trait. *Sadge*

Holy shit. Did we just make a Shrike level freakishly out of its weight class monster here?

(If you're not familiar, the Meritech Shrike is a ship built by a bunch of broken pirate clans who had a good sense of tech, and it's noted for being a Destroyerweight that's stronger in a fight than most Frigates, while still being super fast and also being deadly accurate. Even the nerfed versions that are permitted to be put back into service by authorized Peers are still some of the best ships in the game on a mass-to-cost ratio, the original versions were apparently Even Better but their main computer cores were pulled out because the Admech were worried about them being a little too good and stripped them out and destroyed them just to be sure)

EDIT: On a quick review, this thing is actually better than the Shrike. It's got twice the firepower of a Sword, and it's almost as fast as Imperial technology can get, while having enough redundancy that even if it can get mission killed in the course of it's duties, as long as we don't lose the battle, we can put it back into service. I think it will be a very long time indeed before the Aries-II is replaced or improved on. It's concerningly potent even by the standards of the Great Powers--and while we can't redesign it from scratch except in the throes of Holy Fervor, we can produce as many as we need.

wait quesion, if we redesign/refit we lose the weapons? like what if we get a better version of the Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations? can we remove that and then replace it with the better version?

Or the Armored Lifepods and Advanced Alloying having better versions, can we remove those 2 and replace them with the upgraded versions?

like if the overall design is the same, just the tech is better, can we keep the weapons?

or we up the acceleration, armor or shields later on, do we lose weapons?

We lose the weapons if we refit unless it's done on another Holy Turn, yeah. Fortunately, it's so good that we'll be hard pressed to match it anytime soon.

Like Alectai said, this is pretty much a lightning in a bottle moment our designers had, only happening b/c the Star-Chiod managed to peel back the veil and start directly influencing us. It's the kind of thing that just can't be replicated normally and to deviate the design in anyway will likely fuck it up b/c our own engineers and designers don't even know how the fuck this stuff works.

Unique Faith Weapons Uncovered for this Design only:
Unique Faith Equipment Uncovered for this Design:
No. These weapons and equipment are For This Design Only. As noted.
It would lose all Faith Weapons and Equipment unless the intended refit is also a Divine Design Turn.
So any edit to the equipment has us lose both the weapons and equipment?

Cause it says "for this design" instead of "for this design ONLY" what's with the wording?

Then Cooky says it also includes equipment?

So is it saying all divine design refits have unique weapons but shared equipment options?

I'm just confused

Since you're awake now @HeroCooky, could you say if Blessed Munitions would apply to Lances and what would Enginarium Spirit Shrines affect mostly?
Blessed Munitions would only apply to torps, missiles, and macro-cannons. The ESS would allow a ship in a battle to avoid a killing-blow directed against it once pre battle. Basically dodge-tanking one deathblow.
That is me saying: You get these Weapons/Equipment for this single ship-design in particular. If you change anything, even a single bolt, you get jack, shit, and all Faith Weapons/Equipment in any new Design inteded to be an Aries refit.

Hmm, ESS is a stronger version of the superior alloys then? Still very good, because "Outright negate a killing blow" is better than "A killing blow only disables instead of destroying your ship"

No. Alloys ensure that, unless an enemy targets your hulks, a ship survives a battle you win. ESS negates a single attack made against the ship. Similar, yet different.

Yeah, that's broadly what I was trying to say.

Still, this'll be fun. I'm also excited to see what the Holy Turn does with the Faith Option and the Psykana!

Does the fact it's a Faith Turn mean there's no need to roll on the Psykana?

Our designers, engineers, captains, crews, and more call it the natural evolution of new information being taken back to the shipyards during a period of relative peace. Because while the Orks of Gnatiila are being ground back in a war that has seen another 19% of all deployed troops killed, it is a time where the void itself remains uncontested.
Just in case I think we should send additional troops to Gnatiila

Not really helpful at this point, more bodies won't significantly impact casualties and speed. The job's getting done, it's just bloody like we expected it to be.

I just hope we learn something from it.

I wonder what making a truly epic long distance scout ship would look like with these augments. Instead of going the damage route going the support options.

I also wonder at going the pocket carrier route. Just for funsies.
