Interesting; we've got a bigger saucer than the Ambassador, but a smaller secondary hull. I wonder which masses more? The size comparison has also been updated, now the ship structure is finalised.
Yeah yeah, you can stop the wailing and lamentations. It's been changed, lesson learned.
I second this. Also, I didn't see the original update, but the new nacelles look really nice.Honestly I wasn't asking for you to change the update, given that means drawing a whole new set of nacelles, but fair enough.
I have to say they look gorgeous though, and thank you for the immense amount of work and creativity you put into this quest.
No! More speed! More POWEEEEEER!![X] Type-9 Engine
Given that the variable nacelle struts gave us two extra impulse thrusters, I think we're already likely to have plenty of extra thrust at impulse. Let's limit our risk budget here.
Plus as people say, if there's already a production line for these open...

I am not impressed to see people bullying @Sayle about the votes. The suggestion to give a firm "vote closed" is a good one, but the way y'all harassed Sayle about it was awful.
A Quest's voters are analogous to a writer's audience, and no audience is entitled to anything the author doesn't give freely.
This is the Endeavor saucer, not the Ushaan one.Ohh interesting, I just noticed that the old spot for the Ushaan's dual engines is now where we have the aft shuttlebays installed.
The new nacelles are giving me distinct Odyssey-class vibes - was that intentional, @Sayle , or is it just a happy coincidence? Either way, the Sovereign is looking very cool as we get further into the design phase.
Yup, and around where the dual impulse thrusters would've sat we switched them out for two shuttlebays.
The second option is to aim for more mass, using a broader hull with an Endeavour-style rising dome and driven by a new centerline-mounted impulse thrust assembly. Two off-axis shuttle bays could use the rear of the saucer
Given we've already taken the ease of production out back into the shed and shot it dead there's really no reason to not just take all the prototypes i guess.
