Just to be clear, I have known Sayle for over a decade. He is more than capable of telling me to where to shove it if he wants to.

My main concern was that this way of running votes might produce situations like this in future and create unnecessary upset. I was as surprised as anyone by the change.

The new Nacelles really help balance the design! It looks fantastic!

Yes that was in the saucer vote. Ushaan would have had a large central hangar and 2 widely spaced impulse decks for better speed and agility. The Endeavor has a single central impulse deck and 2 smaller Hangars outboard of it, but isn't as fast or as Agile as the Ushaan style.

Wasn't expecting to see the original posted as a comparison, but thanks for doing it!

Both designs are nice to look at, though visually I'll admit I do prefer the newer one- the more aggresive tapering look is really nice.

I agree, big fan of the tapering being more pronounced in the new version.

The strips appear to be a design choice? But, considering you can only find them (on ships we have made so far,) on the Ambassador, they might be something that is put on capital ships of the Federation. So now I'm not even sure, @Sayle can we have some confirmation either way?

Brothers and Sister! Let no Prototype uninstalled for we are the only ones standing between the glorious cutting edge of science and the evil, boring abyss of standardized equipment.

Edit: Time for Yoyodyne to shine and make their best attempt at spontaneous combusting starship yet. Remember last time; just the nacelles exploded bets on what goes wrong now?

This is pretty well in line with canon, where the Sovereign and Ambassador are surprisingly close in size. So is the Galaxy battle section, actually; I've said before that the Sovvy is basically a flattened battle section with the giant deuterium tank shrunk so there's more room for guns.
