Common bit of fanon. It pops up a lot in SI's for sensory shock factor, but there's never a point in the entire original series that specifically details how people access their chakra for the first time. It's probably just some kind of meditation or something like it; the Sage could teach it to anyone, after all, so it was probably some kind of simple psychological exercise to feel it out and manipulate it properly.

Huh, I thought the Leaf Sticking Exercise was how they helped taught it, focusing all their attention on their forehead incidentally causing their chakra to focus there, but looking at the wiki it seems to imply they already knew how to use their chakra at that point.
??? It's VERY offensive. No other martial art (in Naruto) lets you kill someone so easily.

It makes no sense why the Hyuuga were blammed for killing Cloud's spy who was attempting to kidnap the Clan's Heir. Are you asking if I will change the utterly ludicrous bullshit of both poor writings, political maneuvering, and make it not only makes sense from a narrative, and create something of actual consequence that will make sense in the logic of both the politics of the world, character motivations, and actual events?

Another thing I'm curious how Magoose will handle, are the 8 Gates. That shit is good. Like, almost absurdly so. I haven't yet heard a good explanation for why EVERY ninja doesn't try learning atleast 1 or 2 gates, it benefits every single fighting style, being able to get more Chakra on command. And it IS something you can learn without completely dedicating yourself to it, Kakashi does it. And if you pair it with either regen, or someone who knows some pretty damn good healing power (like, Tsunade)? That shit would become out right busted.

And you all can do it... but going any further than 1st or second gate... You need to dedicate your life to mastering that motherfucker.
But the going further into the gates, the stronger they are (more roll bonuses), and the more likely you are to die, like Gai should have during the final battle.
Like I shit you not: Gai must have been borrowing my dice to survive that shit.
And I will come up with lots of ways to cheat the gates. And get fucked by them if you fail shit.

Thing is, the gates don't start to actually hurt you till gate 4. Hell, Gate 2, the aptly named Gate of Healing, makes you HEALTHIER. You don't need all 8 gates to be awesome, all 8 lets you bitchsmack God. Just 3 Gates made Lee fast enough to outpace Gaara's sand-shield.
And, well, that was my point. Why HASN'T anyone else learned how to use the First and Second gate? Those are objectively good things to learn that is useful for EVERY ninja, and can be learned without complete dedication (again, evidenced by Kakashi). It seems like it'd be especially common among the Hyuuga, who'se entire THING is manipulating the chakra points/gates throughout the body (including to facilitate healing and amp up energy production), and the medical ninja who are far more capable of healing the results of using the gates than normal folk.
Side-note: Gai didn't survive that shit. He was 100% going to die, till Naruto-Turned-God came and said "Nah".

Maybe because it was a recent discovery for this time and only has one true master in Might Gai, and... this is a ninja world where everyone has a gimmik.
If I had to be completely honest, maybe it's because Gai wanted to train more people, but his duties required him elsewhere.
So a nat 25 on the saving throw, with modifiers added leading to divine intervention from the local deity. We've all had that one campaign where it happens.
It's not a recent discovery. It's been around since Madara, who has apparently fought some people who've used the 8th gate (and... somehow didn't get his shit wrecked, being a normal mortal and not a God at the time).
Plus, well, the gates aren't that complicated. Literally any Hyuuga can do it since, as I stated before, that's the entire gimmick of the Hyuuga, manually opening and closing chakra points. It'd just take one Hyuuga see Gai do it, play Eye Spy and notice that a few tenketsu that is normally shut has opened and is really pumping out chakra, and go "huh, I think I should try that" and poke themselves. A lot of medical ninja probably could do it as well, though not as easily. Tsunade 100% could very easily figure out how the technique is done, and easily incorporate it into her fighting style (which is all about manipulating her own body with chakra).
