Stands are probably not magic though. They're most likely manifestations of psychic powers or their user's fighting spirit. Those and magic are quite possibly totally different things.

Therefore, whether he believes in magic or not won't make a difference in their ability to affect Tsukune. Maybe.

Unless it's a Stand that can do crazy magic tricks to people who say they believe in magic, of course. Or a Stand that can only do crazy magic tricks to people who say they don't believe in magic. Or a Stand that can do crazy magic tricks to you no matter what you believe.

My "official" stance on the matter, as far as it counts for R+J, is that Stands are a "mental" force in nature, separate from the "spiritual" force generated by the majority of monster species (including Witches).

As has been already demonstrated on more than one occasion, it is not impossible for an individual to have both "mental" and "spiritual" types of powers at the same time.
