You also receive an unpleasant phone call from Japan Heavy Chemical confirming that the languishing Jet Alone project has finally been axed. The representative from the project sounds like he's going to cry. He hopes you're happy.
It's a shame. I hoped to see Jet Alone KAI in action.

Sure we are.
When we tried to make amends with JSSDF he jumped out complaining about NERV.
Asuka says she's too busy. It's clear she doesn't want to be around Rei right now, so you let her have that lame excuse. Shinji, meanwhile, has plans with his friends this afternoon and says he plans to visit Rei later if he can.
Unfortunately, expected outcome with Asuka.
Fuyutsuki gives you a heads-up that the elder Ikari is currently visiting Ayanami.
Oh, shit. Maybe it is better that Shinji is not here.
He does not wish to replace her, but if things continue, he feels he may have no choice.
I do not like the hidden meanings in this sentence.
We have come here hoping that Rei can hear us, but let's hope she did not hear that
Gendo thinks about this and grunts his assent.
Good enough for now.
Maybe being replaced as pilot of Unit-00 would be good for Rei.
Do not use word "replace" near Rei
You say that you're not going to let anyone replace her on your watch.
Good Misato.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
Crap, I knew you should not talk about replacement.

Who swapped Rei out for Kakyoin? :V

Alternatively: at least she's not choking anybody like manga!Asuka did when she wole up screaming from her coma :V

Only Gendo could be such a massive enough asshole to (indirectly) cause someone to wake from a coma.

Also, I suddenly get the feeling Hikari might be a bit too direct with Toji here... Oh well. If it all goes to shit, well, we're probably in hotter water with her for the whole "putting my crush inside the child-crusher 9000" thing. This is definitely a healthy approach to our problems.

I'd normally inform the medical staff, buuut I am worried that might end up with Gendo or Ritsuko bulling in and us ending up with Rei III. This is still probably a bad idea, though; kid's just woken from a coma and probably needs some sort of actual medical attention. Maybe next week's activity can be "Misato Goes To Medical School"...

I think he just wanted to build a giant walking nuclear robot like Metal Gear. We didn't do much to speed it along other than performing our job adequately, but I feel a little bad about crushing this man's dreams.

I'm picking this because I'm pretty sure the hospital staff should already be on their way. If one of their patients screaming like the damned at the top of their lungs doesn't draw their attention, NERV needs a better hospital.

Hikari frowns. Is everything okay with…everything?
You start to giggle hysterically. Hikari looks concerned. With effort, you regain your composure. No, Hikari. Everything is not okay with everything.

We'd be happy with Jet Alone continuing if it had any real hope of producing a useful product before the end of the world.

After another minute, Gendo says that the Fourth Child has been located and will be notified of their status within the next week.
Oh. That's probably good.

You say that you're not going to let anyone replace her on your watch.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Rei's eyes snap open, and she begins to scream in absolute terror. She's hysterical.
Oh. That's probably bad.

Pretty conclusive vote eh :V
You know that bit in an Ace Attorney case where Phoenix Wright (or whoever you're playing this game) isn't sure whether he can demonstrate his client's innocence—maybe he's even doubting whether his client is actually innocent? He's on the verge of giving up, and you're given a choice that boils down to "Try one last thing" or "Give up". A choice that's obvious, but which forces the player to choose to believe in their client and their ability to defend that client, which emphasizes that resolve more than just watching Wright struggle over whether or not to keep fighting ever could.

This is kinda like that, I think.

Of course. Why do you think I gave everyone the choice to tell Rei they love her?
