Sorry, what? I tend not to pay attention to timelines or dates when reading stories, so I hadn't realized any of this. What?????

Can anyone point me to where we get these pieces of info from? It's wild hahaha.
In the third side story, Sunset on New Dawn, Nora's dad mentions she was born on the day of the Susurration, and that New Dawn was founded after Osanyin's death.

Uiara has a Fill-In Issue with her and her grandfather, and the fake Uiara's dialogue during PREVAIL mentions she knew her grandfather well enough to notice when he went through the Rebound. And this is a matter of public knowledge; nobody goes « wait the dates are wrong »

I'm sorry to be a wet blanket but I want Bitterman's comment about how 13Ps are supposed to be rare and special to remain so. I think I want Cain to stay a 7.

Thinking it over since I know the thread is in general agreement to do a Red Huntress build for one of our highest cost options, it feels like we've got 3 main options to build into it now? Double ups for invis with The Outsider and Miss Conception are also solid builds but these feel like they may have a little more spice to them.

Xtreme/Daggermaw/Soldier X/Mr. Hunch to gain Phasewalking and Autobiokinesis mainly. Daggermaw is the only flexible end of it and could maybe be cut for a P12 or swapped with Millions depending on cost and preference.

Tenebrism/Hydrocity/Daggermaw/Mr.Hunch to gain a FFM, where Tenebrism's power description seemed to indicate that the extra enhances on the body would follow through to the clones, which seems incredibly tempting with Red Huntress' scaling. Daggermaw is the only potentially extraneous option given there is another source of enhanced strength, if wishing to swap it for Millions or going for a P12.

Sewer Rat/Daggermaw/Millions/Soldier X/Mr. Hunch to push for a Self-Enhance synergy. Maybe swap in Trail Chaser over Soldier X + Millions, though I'm not fully sure that the distance predator approach is meaningfully an improvement over peak condition regardless.

I already made my Scarlet Maturity Hunter and Best Friend Build for Red Huntress and Im sticking woth that since QM says its suppose to be funny for that purpose :V

Counterpoint, Cain was specifically picked by Bitterman instead of grabbed from random table/REP check during Obsequies. And Cain himself is clearly special— he already had an established career as a fighter/known killer inside Brazil.

Well, considering the Moon River Mission we're going to need as many powerful metas as possible, espically since Black Swan might not be suited for the mission considering her vulnerability to psionics.

The mission will involve attacking Elysium, which means we will be tangling with the Horae Guard. The 4th hour of the Horae Guard will apparently make mince meat of Black Swan, according to SM.

If trying to go for that angle with specifically Red Huntress Cain, I'd probably just do Sewer Rat/Daggermaw/Mr. Hunch/Steadfast honestly? Just to hit the invuln body while aiming for a self enhance synergy on the scaling power. Adamant there is neat but feels a bit extraneous + I think a self enhance build on Red Huntress seems like it has stupidly high potential.

Fair enough, it's just... Well, firstly, people think we're doping hard with Princess already, that won't help. And also, working with constraints is more interesting than shooting for the moon every time.

That's what Song and Soraia are for imo. We're in a spot where we need to balance the high end with sandbagging and cover, but we still need to be able to actually survive the type of things we know are being thrown our way, y'know?

...Also New Dawn alongside Sparksurfer and Jorogumo if they properly join up. Just from the pov of them not getting any form of power doping but still being fielded.

And we have other evidence of time fuckery, with the fake (alternate?) Uiara message, the woman in blue, the apparently-probably-older sister that was erased, etc.

Basically someone is using time like a trampoline, and it's getting weird. And yet in universe no one is noticing. Which means that whatever paradox is going on is throwing up a perception filter that whammies everyone into not ever thinking about how things contradict themselves.

Vote closed. I feel like ya'll is gaming the system, but, yeah, I'll give Yara both.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't know about others but I definitely ain't doing it on purpose. The imagery of the serpent didn't interest me as much as the school of fish for Yara.

Also nice to know Apiary Expansion gives us +2. We ought to recruit Song or Soraia. If we want Soraia as a healer, we'd better burn those Wolong questions on Biokinesis.

I'm sorry but this reminds me so much of undertale
"Mona…. i remember you're genocides…."
lmao
I choose to believe what is causing the timeline anomalies is alternate versions of this thread resetting the timeline anytime their player character dies.

If this is a joke then I apologize for taking it the wrong way. But if it's not, can you have a little more faith in the QM? Mistakes in this quest are resolved in our favor, and I haven't seen a reason to doubt that the broad structure of the quest is planned in advance.
Any writer will tell you that timeline mistakes and the like can happen even to the best of writers. I'm currently running a game where I completely messed up the timeline of a murder mystery because of foreshadowing 6 months prior in real time despite keeping very meticulous notes. I would honestly be surprised if there wasn't a single error of that kind in this quest with so many characters and mechanics and lore details, it's just something that happens. Not a knock against the writer.

Now that the rules for empowering are being changed, and expanding capacity seems to be being made easier, I think we should consider recruiting more candidates, if not this turn, then next time.

Right, it's not the idea that the QM could have made a mistake that irks me. It's the idea that upon the mistake being pointed out, the QM would double down and lie about it, when in every instance I have seen Bitterman correct mistakes as needed and never penalize the players for it.

We do need extra candidates since id take awile for Cain or Soraia to be completely boosted.

Though maybe MG will give candidates from VG girls. Or some other mission opens up new candisates.

My idea with Stalking Panther was not just to have a sneaky guy. With Mr. Hunch, the build has Intangibility, and Cain is a smart sneaky guy, the perfect candidate for a power to gather Intel on the sly, backstab behind enemy lines, rescue hostages/VIPs, etc.

If you want a fuller version:

Stalking Panther, MAX:
Red Huntress (6) + Miss Conception (3) + Mr. Hunch (1) + Multiplex (1) + Millions Minefield (1) + Soldier X (1)

I avoided Daggermaw because I don't want a third Combat Precog/Telekinesis build after Yara and Song. It keeps the sneaky focus, adds some extra Transforms/Fitness/Energy Manip.

Regarding power design, is there any qualitative difference between a base Potency 7 power set and a Potency 10 with 3 reductions power set? Because I've been thinking that if there isn't, then maybe we could.just try giving Cain a Potency 10 power set once he's properly prepared for it. We haven't been rolling too well when it comes.to.side.effects, after all.
