they'd likely use another approach in defaming us other than that Uiara video. The reason that video worked was because it sorta seems like her last will to the public and also because Wolong was there.

If we were controlling Uiara, of course they're gonna do stuff differently. Perhaps attack us with espionage since we don't have Lady Leizi.

Uiara would likely have a very different line going entirely, given that the video we saw would have had a hard ass time competing against Uiara going "what the fuck!? I never made that!"
Also Prometheus would be semi public with her and with fanatic support form populace

Considerinf we get new candidate every turn. Which isbprobably why imposter syndrome is ginna hit big.

Spies and send candidates yeh.

Would need to make esp heros to make sure we dont get played like Silvio is right now.

Unlike with LL were espnis about hiding Prometheus and invesrigating our enemies.

Hmm... I think going up to New Dawn is the closest a mission has gone to being straightforward. I think it's the only mission that didn't have any unexpected circumstances.

Even when we went to Ibis' lab to get his stuff, there was the unexpected presence of Earthen Owl complicating things, which led to the reveal that he had been empowered (in hindsight, by SM), and that Faust had ordered Powers to not go into the QZ. And, while it was kinda a beach episode, when we went to get Adamant's stash, we needed to find the ship and there were some Behemoths to worry about.

But New Dawn? Our strong espionage meant that the only things we didn't know going into it were that Arc was alive and on life support, and that Wolong was planning Wonderland 2. Then Maddie sort of broke him and we rolled surprisingly high Rep-wise.

God though, I was really hoping for a hope spot but the sheer cavalcade of fuckfests that keep happening while our enemies escape scot-free almost every time continues to depress me. Hopefully we manage to fucking Nail Crusade on the whole "Seraph wasn't actually on administrative leave even though we claimed they were" thing, but I imagine they'll skirt past that thanks to the Philosophers infinite resources and Wolong clones or something.

Again, you've dominated them in basically every encounter you've had including putting a mole in their organization from its genesis.

But you will like this update and this arc. Here is a taste of the first 2.5k of the update:

But that doesn't matter. He has to go.

Now, to beat his ass. And not in the sexy way like those fanfics!

. . . your retribution upon Menagerie Witch for putting those images in your head will be swift and merciless.

"You won't get away with this!" Stockpile snarls, "I'll stop you if it kills me!"

"Then die."

I certainly hope so! Like, intellectually, I know we've got them reacting to us instead of doing what they please, but they don't give the impression of someone who's lost control of the situation, which makes it look like they're stronger than they are.

.... Refresh my memory which members of Crusade are we killing ....
White Hawk .... He just seems dangerous.
Sunlight Knight .... No idea.
Seraph ..... Dangerous but potentially rehabitable.... And usable
Ete... Too much baggage we need to erase.
Joules ... Don't like him but he... Well he is not unforgivable.
Brass Shield.... Potentially usable ... To much unknown
Perspective and Plasticity.... Jus seem to follow orders
Stockpile... An imbecile but not entirely beyond the pale... Caused some damage but not irredeemable.
Ronin.. is already ours.....
Hey does our nat 20 mean we kill Stockpile or we disable his armor?

As for Giant Slayer and Golem combo.... I wonder if we could give that to Cain?

...

We're not actually killing members of Crusade. The only one where I expect that to be on the table if at all would be White Hawk purely off the expy source and how he's positioned himself. They're largely idiots and/or semi malicious but they haven't actually done things to justify killing. Not even with how big of a set of problems Seraph and Silvio's powers are.

Given the way killing reflects on heroes in general I kind of expect this to be akin to Civil War! Levels of conflict-some heroes might get their butt kicked but if anyone dies it's going to be akin to WarMachine'a crash-
Crusade WILL lose too much face if they start killing and cannot do a VERY EXCELLENT job PR spinning that away, because as I see it they're supposed to be in theory respected Heroes, not the pack of not-a-thugs Powers was.
And if they manage to screw up enough to be labeled a pack of thugs it could go badly for them, and for Elysium if not the Philosophers themselves…
Like I can see White Hawk getting away with it MAYBE once every…Let's say 4 Turns or so but that's going to involve him spending more then a few of global AP of his own on controlling the fallout, that depending on who he gets and their own REP score, it might be longer or even outright eat an entire turn or two in which Crusade doesn't get to do ANYTHING else.
Or he gets burnt outright to the point friggen Monarch can bring him in for a Bounty and Nobody will complain about it.

Damn is Noelle cold in a fight and VJ gonna experience why Noelle was able to lead an insurgency against a Metahuman gang.

Yeh I'm not gonna shed tears if any of them die. But I'm also not gonna celebrate or aim for it unless its do or die like with SM.

I'll just be happy if we can deny the Philosophers a win here, any actual bruising we do to their patsies is just icing on the cake.

Well, you're on the right track!

I will Ascend if we manage to reveal Socialite Butterfly's existence and powers to the ones in Crusade who aren't knowing patsies. Because that calls their entire cause to fuck with us into question--with the reveal of a piece of work who can create perfect clones with identical powers as the original person who also through some factor or another is immune to detection and so she can just walk in and sample whoever she wants and there's nothing you can do to even detect her, let alone stop her.

I mean, Stockpile will Still find a way to justify how "No, I am not mistaken, my grudge is pure and objectively correct" no matter what degree of evidence to the contrary materializes, but the beatings will continue until he grows a brain.

I'm not sure revealing SB's existence is on the table just yet. It's not just that we'd need to get our hands on some clones to prove that it's not some weird conspiracy theory, but doing so might turn this cold war into a hot one, and I don't want to know what a hot war looks like against someone who can create clones of metahumans.

Also, SB might preemptively have taken countermeasures to obfuscate the clones' identity. Having access to many metahuman powers means it's not at all out of the question that any New Dawn clones and their corpses don't actually look like New Dawn members.

Come to think of it, what exactly is New Dawn doing right now?

Could we call them u to fight their evil clones? Because that would be a big help on every level and is some pretty strong proof about SB's powers. I don't know how much we told them about her, but I feel like at this point they are clearly involved too.

We did not ask them to come to this mission, so I wouldn't count on them being at all available. They're presumably still busy holding the line against any attacks by Monarch.

Revealing SB's existence would be such a huge shock I'd expect there to be a city-wide manhunt for her, with Scarlet Maturity involved because he's not going to be able to resist the allure of fighting someone who can relive his literal greatest hits (to the face).

We need solid proof that there's a Power Cloner out there but id be fun yeh. Atleast it should force SB underground for a bit instead of making moves.

Assuming you survive this, you'll get a mission that will give you the option of exposing SB, but, uh, good luck with the fallout at this point.

Oh, I assume what you mean there is basically that there'd be a city-wide manhunt for SB in an unproductive and self-destructive way?

A crazy witch hunt leading to chase scenes, outrage, and destruction of the already fragile fabric of the Metahuman community?

"You won't get away with this!" Stockpile snarls, "I'll stop you if it kills me!"
Wouldn't this be "even if it kills me!" ?

Going to another topic, assuming we actually recruit Yara this turn, do you guys think we should prioritize her for Project Prometheus, or do we still go with our original plan of going Song?

Personally , I'd go Song to maintain our cover of not having metahuman projects going on, as well as giving as a frontliner. I've accounted for Belle Sabreuse' position long before I've pitched about Song, and I think I still want him in that position.

With that said, with how much psychic damage we've been receiving, I understand if some might want to boost Yara up right away into becoming our psychic as defense against future psychic encounters as well as additional point of contact with R-Train.

It's that Rep and Luck nat 1, ain't it…..
