…ok. That's… damn. Uh, wow.

Omake fuel to tide us over during break week, I suppose.
Now imagine a Mona that is more suscdptible to Stockpiles claims because of that. Also im pretty sure Ellie would have not joined us if that became the norm. So no Mona and no Ellie, so we would still not have EB.

wow it's almost like people don't like people who do bad things

and doing horrible things in the name of good will eventually lead you to just become another monster in the world, who folded to the easy path which only lead to more suffering

and it's almost like that if we would take an option like that in the future then everyone would probably turn around, look at LL, before punching her in the face and locking her in a padded cell for a month in time out

And then if we kept doing it, everyone would be paranoid since Mona wouldn't do stuff like that, so they'd think she was being mind controlled.

So honestly, let's just keep doing the right thing, okay guys?

THAT MEANS NO CAIN, OKAY GUYS?

TBF Cain is more of a risky Gamble in trying to trun a killer into a hero if not a team player.

That said while we got ambushed here In hoping those rep rolls paves the way for us kanaging to recruit Yara and Belle this turn instead of needing Reality Check.

I don't expect us to be trying to kill anyone, but if this cluster fuck is as bad as it sounds some of them may very well kill each other while we are busy with our primary objectives.

I wonder how different things would look if we had taken the other option…

Of course we wouldn't have Maddie, but how else?

I think we got a 'You can be more' interrupt when Wolong asked if he should keep trying to save Arc or let her die peacefully. So in that timeline she'd probably be dead and we'd have access to her DNA for Prometheus. This may or may not have caused relations with New Dawn to break down when they discovered that we had access to Mendicant.

Oh, it would have been baaaaaaaaaad. Unless you covered your ass VERY well, you would have lost both. And if you did, Mona wouldn't have been okay with it and used it against you when she pulled a NuGen.

There's a difference between having a dark past and trying to grow from it, and then doing bad shit and pretending to still be a hero. Let's let Cain have a little screen time before any arguments start. His YouTube channel is very endearing!
He has a youtube channel?!...
What does he post?

And... yeah fair, but I want to play it safe. Like you said, there is a difference between you two things but the whole of it is that we don't know which Cain is.

And if Cain is the kind of person who wants to be better... I'd want to take an action to try and set things straight for the guy before putting him through Prometheus.

Even then, Cain is a known non-power... anti-hero? Anit-villian? Something like that...
Honestly I'd like to see if we could give him a power like Ellie, a power that is useless on it's own but empowers equipment. With what the people know of Ellie and her armor, perhaps that would be a good way to keep people off our backs...

Maybe.
Also side thought... have we discussed or tested what happens when we don't hit potency max when giving someone Ambrosia?
Cause honestly... I kinda want to test that. If someone has a high tolerance but low Potency dosage, would the power we give them evolve to match the tolerance/potential they had?

Like if we gave a Tol 7 recruit something like Soldier X's 1 potency power, would that power evolve to match the Tolerance of that person?

I think we just get the benefits of less risk of side-effects.

(And I am reminded that those can be nasty between the interview and Mona almost being taken out but for a bat-20 here. Our heaviest hitter vulnerable to psychics, when our enemies have multiple of those… eep).

Honestly For Cain while Im not willing to go for T10 unless we can really get to know him.

I think rather than waffling about it just genuinely give a hand of trust in what he needs as powers and what would be useful for us. Since we need to keep his Identity hidden a strong Transformation or Invisibility power then soenthing else for Combat or operations.

In my Case I prefer Invisibility sonce we have Handyman for Transformation Espionage.

So plan I d go with this:

Hidden Hand
-Ispy
-Mr Hunch
-Millions Minefield
-Miss Conception
-Crimson Soprano

Go for Telekinesis Synergy and then Give him a powerful Invisibility to hide his identity in combat.

Lets him be our Rouge too since Telekinesis is a pretty hard power to detect.

Well, I could see us potentially getting DNA from SB's cloned metahumans. It'd probably be a gamble, but as long as her clones don't dissolve on death or have any sort of self-destruct installed, I think that the possibility coul be on the table. Of course, it could have complications of its own, like how Printemps' DNA has that strange energy still in it. Plus, if Project Prometheus does eventually come out, SB would probably start considering what clones to send against us more heavily, since she could potentially be supplying us with new DNA if she sends clones of dead metahumans against us.

Master Misdirector

Miss Conception (3) + Hunch (1) + Daggermaw (1) + Soldier X (1)

The Uncle Iroh is to give Song defense and an elemental attack in case he needs something other than physical strikes. Swift Shifu is to combo the not!Spidey Sense with speed for fast reactions in physical throwdowns.

Here, we go deceptive. Illusions or Invisibility make him great at reacting to an ambush before it happens.

Doing the right thing is very often the practical thing to do, honestly. Not always safe - after all, LL nearly died at Maddie's hands, several of our heroes got very injured when taking out FVM, and the whole thing with the 4 Seasons could have gone waaaaay nastier if Powers had had more time to get reinforcements in place or we'd had worse rolls - but it is practical more often than you'd think. It's as LL told her sister: cruelty and arrogance are not brilliance. Neither does being reckless and callous make you a better person.

...On an unrelated and more positive note, that Nat 20 to HIT in the rolls really is a shining light in the middle of what has been promised to be a stressful mission. I have this strong mental image of SB dropping a very specific mental manipulator (cloned or otherwise) in our way... and Ellie just jumping high into the air with a "Tou!", performing a triple somersault, and Valiant Kicking said person the fuck out before they get to use their mental attack of Go The Fuck To Sleep or whatever on Mona.

I can also think of one other alternative aside from a dedicated mental manipulator: an Algernon creating a relevant gadget. I don't put it past Stockpile to not have created a temporary mental incapacitator thingy or whatever to catch certain metahumans.
