Wonderful! She is such a fan. She says this may be an odd request, but could she shake your hand?

You frown. That is an odd request. But before you can protest, she takes off a glove and takes your hand in hers. She then goes down the row and shakes hands with Gentleman James, Miss Naught, Palisade, and Dreamcatcher. She is very enthusiastic, sometimes even grabbing a forearm or shoulder. She goes for Yara, but she hides behind Belle Sabreuse.

"Pardon us," the masked musketeer says, "We are not with New Dawn and not used to the attention."

The woman says it's alright but goes for the handshake again anyway. Yara acts more frightened and you see Belle Sabreuse's hand drifting to her waist again. You intervene—the whole situation is now deeply concerning—but the woman scowls and disappears.
Just realized on a re-read. This was probably Key/Socialite Butterfly. She must have been trying to copy Yara using touch.

She also has copies of all of New Dawn rn. That's bad, but we have an idea of what we'll encounter on Hero Worship, at least.

As for how she disappeared; maybe another metahuman clone she had waiting in the background? Would explain the instant amnesia Wolong had right afterwards.

I still think Key is not Socialite Butterfly. All we know about the latter is the cloning, Key seems to mess with perception/memory to leave as small of a trace as possible in someone's head.

Blooper Reel II — Kermie
Actor's Interview/Blooper Reels II

By Kermie

Project Prometheus, the hottest new superhero show since those other ones, with the twink and the delusional woman. Featuring not only amazing CGI and visuals, but also an incredibly well-written cast and one of the most dedicated fanbases since Twilight.

I think. Only got into fandom a few years ago.

I'm Kermie Nguyen (not my real name) and I'm here on behalf of SV news, sitting down with some of the actors for Project Prometheus. Everyone, I'd like you to introduce yourself!

Lei: Hello there. I'm Lei Zixuan, and I play Lady Leizi in Project Prometheus.

Nora: I'm Nora Kim! I play both Valiant Silver and the Woman In Blue.

Mona: The name's Mona-Merola Morales. Yes, all my names start with the same letter. I play Black Swan!

Maddie: Madeleine du Marseille, but you can just call me Maddie. I play Menagerie Witch.

Thank you all for the introductions, everybody! I think we all know the plot of Project Prometheus by now, so let's just go ahead and skip to the fun parts. Lei, what was it like to get called in and realizing that you were going to be the new main character?

Lei: I applaud your directness. As for the question, I mean, we filmed Leviathan's Rest about…

Nora: I think it was like five years ago.

Mona: Do you think the director saw that number irl and just multiplied it by two? It wouldn't have been that hard.

Lei: …I wouldn't put it past Director Bitterman, but I have a feeling that it's more than that. Maybe ten is just a convenient number.

But it was definitely surprising. When the old Justice Unlimited crew got back together after so long, I was expecting to first have something easy to practice and get back into character. Like, maybe just a script read of a hero patrol, to get us all back into character. Not "Lei, Leizi is the main character now. Everyone else is here to help with filming and make cameos."

Nora: I remember that like it was yesterday! And that's saying a lot, because I'm unsure if I was on my Adderall at the time. You just read that line, and were like, "me???"

Lei: I wasn't that dramatic. After a bit of surprise, we read out the script for Season 1, and we got to see some of the new costumes.

Mona: Wouldn't that be our new costumes? Because they just ironed and restiched yours. I think my costume is one of the best out of the new ones, even if everyone including me had to google the meaning beforehand.

Nora: It's better than the Castlevania BS that we had Gaspard get into. Remember that, Lei?

Lei: He was in the running on Buzzfeed for "best costumes from the wrong shows". I remember that clearly.

Maddie: Oh, and while we're on that note, I just wanted to say something to Costume Designer Bakaneko— just what are the vials on my costume supposed to be, by the way? Menagerie Witch hasn't used them, like, once.

Mona: They're for aesthetic, I think.

(The girls chuckle. After a while, Kermie nods.)

Well, you can all ask later. Definitely sounds like an interesting conversation— you'll have to keep us over here updated.

Alright, here's the next question. This one's for you, Nora. How do you feel about your newest role?

Nora: (clearly grinning) I have no idea what you're talking about.

Y'know, the talk of all the theorists! The mysterious Woman in Blue. We only got a glimpse of her back in Leviathan's Rest, along with the haziest flashbacks of what looked like a younger Black Swan.

Nora: Again, no clue of what you're talking about. Besides, even if I did, that might count as spoilers. And if I told you that, the director might make my head explode!

Maddie: But didn't Valiant Silver's head basically explode during the Movement? For that matter, does Rebound count as a mini-brain explosion?

Nora: Kid, you'll just have to wait for the next flashback episode to come out. Trust me, the Fill-Ins are great.

Mona: But they're just the same scenes that I watched when I was a kid but extended and with older actors and better quality.

Nora: Hey, Leviathan's Rest was peak fiction, don't at me. That's why I said it was great.

It had a cult following of maybe a few hundred thousand, but I imagine that number's gonna go way up with the viral success of Project Prometheus.

These next two questions are fan-submitted, and they're both for our two more junior actors! This one comes from TaurusKiss on Twitter: Mona, how did it feel when you got the call-back for the role? Were you nervous about your first leading performance, or excited?

Mona: Oh! Now that's… hm. Best I can describe it as is a weird mixture of both. As I think most of the fandom knows by now, I was actually an extra on Leviathan's Rest, so being called back as the mysterious Black Swan was like a dream come true. Me and mom spent about forty minutes just screaming together!

Maddie: Do not underestimate the excitement a worked-up Latina mother can produce. Seriously, from what Mona told me, Ms Merola could probably have bounced off the walls.

Mona: If she was five to ten years younger, she could have.

But as for the question, what got me over from "nervous, to excited" to "excited" was reading the script for the first time. It was really exciting, realizing that I'd be essentially playing a different version of—

Nora: Mona, please don't say what I think you're about to say.

Lei: Darling. We still have to worry about copyright.

Mona: Whoops! You heard nothing. But playing Black Swan was very fun for me, once I had an idea of what she was like. As I was going to mention, her learning to control her powers was great, but did you know that some of her traits were suggested by me? Like how both her and I don't curse.

Maddie: I cuss more than you. And Menagerie Witch is 14-ish while I just turned 15 a few weeks ago.

Nora: I honestly keep on forgetting that you're older than you look, Maddie. Like, you could pass for 11!

Maddie: It's called "short queen" (giggles) "supremacy", thank you very much.

Mona: (nods sagely) One of the greatest forces known to mankind.

Well, that provides an easy segway for me, since this next question is for you, Maddie!

Maddie: What is it?

This one was submitted by AmbiguousHinderance on Tumblr. Who's your favorite magical girl?

Maddie: …like, in general? Any of 'em?

Yup!

Maddie: (in deep thought) Hmm…

Nora: (whispering to Lei and Mona) Who do you think it's gonna be?

Lei: In all honesty, I never liked any of that shoujo you and the old crew showed me, so I wouldn't know.

Mona: Probably not Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura, at least.

Maddie: …if you made me have to choose one, it'd be Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She's too iconic, and probably the undisputed best at "magical girl with a gun". Still waiting on Walpurgisnacht Rising!

Nora: I honestly forgot that the whole "edgy magical girl" trend was a thing. I thought that you would have chosen something more modern.

Maddie: Nope. Wonder Egg Priority was good for the first half, and then dropped the ball. Magical Destroyers is trash. Don't watch it.

Lei: (politely nodding along and pretending to understand)

Alright. Thank you all so much for answering these short questions! Before we go, do you all have anything to say?

Maddie: Keep on watching us on all those streaming services, so that we get a Season 2! I want my easy college money so that I don't end up as another disgraced child star.

Lei: Thank you all for watching. Now stop sending me all your cursed fan mail. It's vetted before it gets to me, stop making Chauncer and Eve see all your weird thoughts.

Nora: Keep an eye out for all the things we'll be revealing in the Crusade arc, and make sure to keep on theorizing! All the writers think it's great when you all try and put together the pieces before you see the whole picture.

Oh, and stop asking to bring the original Justice Unlimited back. They aren't coming back, and that's the whole reason for the titular Project!

Mona: …I don't really have anything to say that hadn't already been said. But thank you all so much for watching Project Prometheus! It's been really fun.

And thank you all too, for being a part of such a great show to watch! This is Kermie, signing off. See you next time!

And now for your regularly scheduled bloopers.

Maddie Considers Violence (In Other News, Fork Found In Kitchen)

"Mona, have you seen the crazy-eye thing lately?" Menagerie Witch asks, "Cuz, if so, I've got a jar of embalming fluid I've been needing to fill. . ."

"Madeline, no. Does your power work on dead animals?"

"It doesn't work on dead animals yet, but if I sneak enough spiders into the writers room…"

"Oh my god Madeline, please no."

Improv

"What are you trying to say then?" Lady Leizi says, raising an eyebrow, "Do be direct. I hate beating around the bush."

"Step on me, mommy."

"W-wait, what?"

(The camera pans to Rakeem, Nora, and the camera crew.)

"That's objectively funny! Keep it in!" Nora yells.

"As much as I want to say that you shouldn't say that, Nora's right!" Rakeem adds.

Alice facepalms, before they give a big sigh. "Ok, take two…"

Questionable Accents

<"Apologizes, madam,"> Rhys says, < "I am here with your usual wine, courtesy of the house. And a glass of cognac for the gentleman here.">

Hiver, noticeably, hadn't sent an order ahead. He also hasn't looked at Rhys.

Été takes her wine and scrunches up her nose.<"Ew, disgusting! What is that accent? Do not speak in my presence!">

Rhys smiles, and changes to an accent best described as… Samuel Jackson speaking French? <"Oui oui. Tis my ass-kicking accent, bitch.">

Everyone both on-camera and off-camera breaks down into laughter.

Second Stunt Fail

"Mr. Cruz?" Keith spoke to the bodega owner, still hiding behind the counter.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry."

"It is fine. You did your best. You are stretched very thin these days."

"What? No. I'm not sorry for not being able to stop them. I'm sorry for what I'm about to do."

In a fast moment, Keith turned around and punched with a powerful right hook.

And missed, tripping and flopping onto the floor. "Can we get a stunt double for this scene?"

Somebody shouted from off-camera. "He's out sick today, sorry!

The Weight Of The World On Your Back

For reference, you are currently 46. Others would say that this is not something you should be doing by any means, especially with two children at home. You begin to bend down to aim with your rifle and—

CRACK!

Ok, you should not have been doing this at all. Ouch.

Dr. Ibis Cringe Comp (That's Just His Daily Schedule!)

Chaucer clears his throat and begins. "Justice Unlimited. We are here to discuss the next implementation of—"

"The future of humanity!" Dr. Ibis interrupts, practically vibrating with excitement. "We have enough goldnine for one more dose of Ambrosia! It's going to get chewgy as the children say!"
(Who even uses that word?!)
Chaucer clears his throat and begins. "Justice Unlimited. We are here to discuss the next implementation of—"

(Absolutely not!)

Both Mona and Maddie are trying so hard not to laugh, but are hiding it admirably. They look at each other, and silently accept that's the best it's going to be.

Actor's Author's Note:

The Actor AU! Part 2. Don't think too hard about how meta this one is. It might explode your brain. As for the questions, I just put a lot of your guys' names on a wheel, and spun to DM you. PawnLelouch, you were this close to getting that Maddie question.

This update brought to you by the new free time I have now that I don't have to suffer from writing my other quest that I was seriously losing motivation for. Seriously, don't try and QM two Quests at once. Not a good idea. I have two hands but not two sets of 12 hours that I can use.

So, idly:

Mona's statline as the 10 Potency was 1 Hit, 2 Rep, 2 Esp, 1 Ops.

We know that of Yara, Noelle, and Drug Boy, one's an 8, one's a 9, and one's another 10 with drawbacks.

We've already assumed, sort of, that Drug Boy's drawback is helping him with Lethal Anodyne addiction.

We know that lower Potency means higher stats. Mona's adds up to 6 for 10 potency.

Rhys's, as a 6 potency, was HIT 3, ESPIONAGE 5, REPUTATION 2, OPERATIONS 2. That adds up to 10.

Henry, 4 potency, has HIT 1, ESPIONAGE 4, REPUTATION 5, OPERATIONS 6. That's 16.

I don't think there's a precise scale, but broadly, we can expect that Noelle and Yara will have slightly higher stats than Mona did pre-Ambrosia. Where do you think they'll be distributed, in that case?

I think Noelle, as someone who's clearly been dealing with some fights, might have an above-1 Hit. She's also fairly smart? Maybe some OPS?

Yara I think is at 1 Hit, and she doesn't seem as people person-y as her older sister, though just Being A Rich Girl And Uiara's Sister might also contribute a bit to that. She also has to deal with rich people stuff so I expect at least a little Ops.

Hi Keith! Sorry you had to suffer at the hands of Kermie. Looking forward to your cameos when we do more OID missions!

I hope that someone remembers my memory. All the things we tried to do as the Defiance Unit… hopefully someone got the right impression.

Sorry guys. I'm coming home now.
If we ever meet a fan of defiance who gets it.... I would give them a combination of Memoria, Gaspard and Camdyn... Just we could see what happens with Teleporter, Emotions and Space Time

Long updates are good updates!

Short updates are also good updates, because all updates are good updates.

(I'm not saying it was the key but I do think it would be funny if "Oh, right, Keith is operating in this area" and "I need to use the potion vials" were the twin breakthroughs to fix the update's issues.)

I got plans for Keith, but they're not here unfortunately. The issue was more that there was no emotional throughline for Lady Leizi in this update---and thus this arc---and it made making all of the various things going on hard to make cohesive.

Now I can just imagine Keith hearing like twenty different explosions in the background, and just trying to ignore it as hard as possible.

Keith: …you know what? Maybe I'll be a hero tommorow.

I feel that deeply on Wonder Egg Priority. I watched that show while it was coming out and it helped me through a really tough time. I don't know what the production team was thinking.

I have a feeling Maddie (our Maddie not the actress) would really love Princess Kraehe/Rue from Princess Tutu if she ever watched it.
Both have that similar feeling of feeling like an unloved monster, and they can both summon crows to act as combatants on their behalf.

Kermie’s Candidates pt. 3
Candidate Lambda
Name: Addie Nguyen
Age: 24
Stats: HIT 1, ESPIONAGE 2, REPUTATION 5, OPERATIONS 1
Tolerance: 7
Chaucer's Notes: The "Songstress's Daughter", Addie Nguyen. After the death of her mother, Linh Nguyen, also known as Solferina, Addie has spent her time making sure that everybody in the Uni District has had enough to be safe and comfortable from the comfort of their dorms. She's become an extremely well-known creative figure in her own right, despite her young age, though she focuses on painting instead of her mother's singing. She is very interested in working for us as a hero, or at the very least spreading the word that Justice Unlimited is well and truly back.
Lady Leizi: I have nothing here to say that Chauncer hasn't already. Really, the hardest thing about working with Addie would be making sure she doesn't get recognized as a hero. We might want to have her receive Ambrosia after Project Prometheus goes public.

Candidate Zeta
Name:
Leah Nguyen
Age: 22
Stats: HIT -1, ESPIONAGE 4, REPUTATION 5, OPERATIONS 6.
Tolerance:
5
Chaucer's Notes: Leah is a very promising candidate. Even though she's Solferina's younger daughter and Addie's younger sister, she's also made a name for herself as one of the most promising students in the Uni District. Despite the disability in her legs that prevents her from getting out of her wheelchair for more than a few minutes each day, (which I believe is one of the reasons her mother had to gather so much money to send her to university), she graduated as valedictorian at her high school and has an incredible personality.
Lady Leizi: …I have a feeling that Leah would want to get a power that would allow her to stand, or at the very least move freely. But one of her biggest motivations for joining this project is to protect her sister, who's the only family she has left. Doing that is possibly her biggest priority in life right now, actually.

Author's Note:
Both of Solferina's kids. Addie has the stats to inherit and min-max her mom's powers, while Leah has stats to compliment her sister. This is probably the last Solferina related thing I'll do for a while, btw.
