@LucidProp don't forget that we are rolling with advantage (Bo2).
I completely missed that! Recalculating then, with 2 dice rolled to represent advantage (Parameters are d20, 2 dice, and at least 1 die > X).

  • Minor Success: DC 12. Moderate Success: DC 15. Major Success: DC 18.
  • HIT 40 (Stat Check) vs HIT 32 (JU + Hiver)
    • -4 due to a difference of 8, rolling a d20 with advantage.
      • 43% Chance of Minor Success (Roll at least 16)
      • 19% Chance of a Moderate Success (Roll at least 19)
      • 0% Chance of a Major Success
      • 9.75% Chance of a Natural Crit (Roll 20)
    • ±0 assuming we use all 4 of our omake points, rolling a d20 with advantage.
      • 70% Chance of a Minor Success (Roll at least 12)
      • 51% Chance of a Moderate Success (Roll at least 15)
      • 28% Chance of a Major Success (Roll at least 18)
      • 9.75% Chance of a Natural Crit (Roll 20)
    • +3 assuming we use all 4 of our omake points and get the "You Can Be Better" modifier (Not sure about this one), rolling a d20 with advantage
      • 84% Chance of a Minor Success (Roll at least 9)
      • 70% Chance of a Moderate Success (Roll at least 12)
      • 28% Chance of a Major Success (Roll at least 15)
      • 9.75% Chance of a Natural Crit (Roll 20)

They all sighted with their civilian names, not their hero identities.
Really? Oh dear, there goes our best guess for how Hiver managed to get out of his.

So, stepping away from the current vote for a bit, I have a question regarding power keywords. While I understand that you'll be picking and choosing based on power synergies and the overall idea of whatever hero we're making, will there be any chance for unexpected keywords to pop up based on the resulting power? Like, say we wind up making an elemental hero. If they wound up getting an air-based power, would they have the potential for the Flight keyword to pop up even if it wasn't included in the plan? Or would they have 0% chance of developing flight?

I don't think Hiver could increase the gravity on Maturity's body enough for him to be able to completely paralyzed. He's probably strong enough that he could walk fine.

Rhys could bend his body around the fist to dodge, if it comes to that.

It's truly a testament to Bitterman's writing abilities that despite not having the ability to write in a battle plan, we're still speculating on tactics in the hopes that some of our ideas will weasel into his brainsphere and inform the following escape scene.

It's worth noting that with Leizi having a Shield Generator, we're already down one step. A Moderate Success will be a complete null, a Minor just superficial, and even complete failure will just be two.

Another great update, now the game is afoot! Faust's appearance and powers are about what I expected, he might as well have abandoned all pretenses and named himself Mephistopheles. My mind will now autocorrect his future appearances to a certain skeleton from another game with similar powers :V

Though it'd be really satisfying, I can't say it would be a good idea to grab Faust and cut his throat out immediately. That may get leverage with Four Seasons, but I doubt it would give us any leverage with Scarlet Maturity, who is on payroll with Dominion and is mercenary enough to not need a contract with Faust to bash our skulls in. Also Faust is likely to have insurance policies just like us, such as shield generators.

If we must interact with Faust, take him hostage. At best we will negotiate a tense retreat. Our rep rolls worked well enough for prodding the enemy with our advance knowledge, but I don't trust in them for negotiations from neutral ground. I think that effort is better spent on trying to get the hell out of dodge and taking advantage of the chaos we knew was going to happen to extract Hiver.

Assuming this list isn't just for people who already committed Omake bonuses to Hiver, I also have a point saved.
I forgot to reply to this! Great job, probably darker than where this story will go but that's the joy of omake. Have a +1!
Our existing injury level is quite painful for this check. Even with shield, we must get at least a minor success to not die or get knocked out. So I will spend my bonus here as well. At +5, we roll d20 advantage with net +1.

If we lose the check still, there may be hope yet. The enemy's main goal is to force Lady Leizi to sign the contract, and she can't do that if she's dead. So if Scarlet Maturity pulls his punch slightly we can still have Handyman or Black Swan attempt to medivac Lady Leizi.

Live free or die.

I'm still waiting until the roll is decided, because a Nat 20 or just a naturally high roll means we might not need to pool everything yet. If it's lower but within reach of a checkpoint to raise the success, I will put it in, just waiting and seeing.

Are we allowed to wait until the roll to decide to use the bonus? Seems a bit weird, but if it's allowed sure I'll hold as well.

I had a thought today-it's a very, very farfetched idea, but...

could it be possible that Powers or Dominion or their client who moulded Towarri deliberately inflamed the Leviathan, in the hopes that by avoiding the chaos while everyone else handled it, they could get a near-monopoly going on the superheroing?
