The entire reason Dragon asked Al to invade the Birdcage was so that she could show videos to judges etc to show that it's not secure.

So now she has videos of someone else who isn't Apollyon opening portals into it to save a monster who was in the middle of torturing a child.

A monster saved another monster by just yoinking him out at the drop of a fedora.

Things are gonna be fun, especially when Al gives Dragon his bodycam footage and everyone learns that it was two of the Triumvirate involved with that.

Not a monster, his slaves pulled him out. I doubt that anyone would try to do that willing after what happened after Dr Mother pulled out Manton

Ok but why bother with him? They know of the one person who would go after Teacher and is a blind spot, and they should know that it can follow doormaker portals
The important thing to remember is that Path to Victory isn't smart, and Contessa isn't smart, especially not while following a path. If she asks for a path to something stupid and self destructive her power will give her all the steps to flawlessly follow right off the edge of a cliff.

So she may very well have asked for a path to 'preserve the highest number of capes possible that are capable of meaningfully impacting the survival of humanity as a whole'. Which means once the Path notices that Teacher drops out of its forecast and turns up dead on the other side of the blank spot, the Path gains a new step to get Teacher out of there with a Door.

Contessa might not even be aware that the purpose of this step is to save Teacher, just that its necessary for the relevant path.
Alec has a blind spot aura that completely disables anything shard based from seeing inside it, including PtV and Clairvoyant/Doormaker
This is true, but the spot that portal opens wasn't always inside the blank spot, and the Path can model Teacher even inside a blank spot and so if it knows his corpse will be found here with these wounds and he was standing there before he vanished into the blank spot... PtV can easily predict that he'd stumble back away from the unknown attacker into a certain place before dying and give Contessa the step she needs before Alec even gets there. Or some other CSI nonsense version that makes up for Alec's blank spot.

But wouldnt it be against the concept of a blind spot to be able to predict what they can cause? Like killing someone? Wouldnt the path only be aware of the death AFTER it happened?

This is like a game of pool where the cue ball is invisible; you can't tell where it is, or if it's moving, or (if it is moving) which direction it's going, or how fast it's moving... but you can tell when it's going to hit the 8 ball, which direction that ball will be moving afterwards, etc.

Fiscer has a plan and the plan has a plot hole. I will see where it goes before comenting further.

Please, do share. It might be filled by my plan for the next chapter.

This makes absolutely no sense with all the enhancements to his gun, literally none.

And if Alec were using a standard ballistic shot, you'd be right.

But, with the risk of a normal bullet overpenetrating and ripping open a hole in the birdcage? A hole that would expose everyone inside, including the child to hard vacuum? Alec went with a much, much lesser option by imitating the knockout gun from Metal Gear Solid 3.

Caution, in this case, caused failure.

Geez Cauldron doing this again because it worked out so well for them last time seems they are about to get intimate with the consequences of their actions.

I know there's a quote somewhere about Clairvoyant having been completely incapable of communicating before being altered by Teacher.

I'm trying to find it but it's not on Clairvoyant's page, so I might have to put it off until the morning.

What you may be thinking of is the interlude where the teacher thralls Cauldron got for them mean they can communicate with Clairvoyant better and understand Ziz from spying on it better to the point that you actually think it's a Ziz interlude to start tho unfortunately for them something about it made them forget after they broke contact or perhaps fortunately because it showed Ziz taking and reflecting on it's recent steps to set up Taylor going Kephri.

I can't remember, but do we even know WHEN ALEC was transported to Worm from the Main Story? It could be that this happened before the Father Box. …. No, never mind I figured it out. Worm's Creator God is Wildblow, and Alec DOESN'T have Gamers Mind. He's mentally compromised.

It's after because Al used Fatherbox speak which he got from eating one on the protectorate heads during their meeting.

Surprised Al hasn't just said F it and killed doormaker yet... That would irreparably bugger cauldron (I would also suggest contessa but she's semi needed to prevent societal collapse still... She goes later)

Will Alec leave a Teleportation Marker in the Birdcage?

Would it be worth the effort to have a way to return to the Birdcage? Maybe as a bargaining chip with Panacea by letting her periodically visit her father, Marquis.

It could be funny if the Fairy Queen demanded that "the Empty One" (her nickname for Alec) visit her, and a justifiably terrified Alec drops by every week or so. When a super-powerful cape demands a tea party, you better show up to her tea party.

Ok but why bother with him?
Because Cauldron is run by the "Path to most combat while causing the greatest amount of social harm" precog power.

he important thing to remember is that Path to Victory isn't smart, and Contessa isn't smart, especially not while following a path. If she asks for a path to something stupid and self destructive her power will give her all the steps to flawlessly follow right off the edge of a cliff.
And importantly, Path to Victory has it's own agenda which is apparently to be the core of a new Entity. Which means causing maximal social harm, because that is how authority figures work in Worm.

Their first encounter was relatively pleasant (Lustrum aside), and she actually seems to like him somewhat. He was certainly generous in his gift-giving, and she's not a violent person by nature. Her kills were mainly in self-defense, and she's in the Birdcage by choice.

So long as he makes an effort to be polite, regular visits (I imagine this would involve pulling her out of the 'cage to somewhere more pleasant) would be a lot less nerve-wracking than dealing with most people. Of course, this is subject to emergencies (which happen quite often), but due to Al's introversion, he does need more people he can spend non-violent time with.

Then, once the number had reached critical mass, Bennie turned his thralls, all with Thinker and Tinker or even Master powers, to the grisly task of killing politicians and pundits that he disagreed with.

Of course, Benjamin himself was not especially intelligent, despite what he might wish to believe. He'd been captured in short order and then...
That's an interesting way of saying he had the Vice President of America assassinated (which is when people figured out his students were also effectively his slaves), got away with it, and then had the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom assassinated. And claimed that all of that was setup for bigger plans.
In this way, they have to contend with his thralls but, so long as they keep them isolated to a different Earth, that's relatively easy.
No it is not easy. If Teacher has access to enough people and time to work, he can and will build portal devices. Banishing Teacher to a populated Earth is like locking a Tinker in a hardware store.

Worse than that really since given his power Teacher scales stupidly high to the point people joke about him being god as in in Ward he had a system set up where there were groups monitoring every cape group's actions a few minutes in the future while doing things like hacking Victoria's computer to slip a fake diary onto it that basically closely mirrored her thoughts but with more negative Armsy like motives or editing a photo of Weld and a girl he went on a mission with to make it seem like they sat closer together than they did to get Sveta upset. That caused disruptions within hero groups with the overall aim being to dislodge some of them from teams such as making Ratcatcher be independent and make it harder for them to work together.

I thought that teacher was killed when Alex took out Saint

Teacher was safely in the Birdcage when Alec stole Saint's toys and bombed the base. Killing one of his thralls won't remotely injure him.

Surprised Al hasn't just said F it and killed doormaker yet...

Because Doormaker isn't a villain, he's a victim, and Al's not a monsterous sociopath who murders innocents for the fun of it?
