Hm. Maybe might want to sit on that one for a bit, grind up a level or two.

See you all tommorow for the update!

In this economy, reaching another level shouldn't be too difficult.

Annoying but not too much so considering this thread's habits.

Still want Himari to try to tackle her eye curse shit she need more friends/social interactions man. One of these days we'll take her to the gundam mecha thing.

Gonna put this here so I don't forget about this idea I have:

[ ] (Write In, Minor Action) Get everyone you know- Your little team, Mako, Kirata, maybe other magicals you've befriend, and get a meeting/group call to explain what Purson told you since Will is pretty important to know about and would let Jun and Kirata be able to sit on if they wanted to become Kamen Riders/Magical Heroes themselves.

It's a very rough draft... also if they were to start trying to gather Will... does the powers they manifest have to be geared to combat? We've seen how Rei can have spirits give her utility powers right?

With Jun, the guy in the chair... well if he doesn't want to fight physically... wouldn't him getting enough Will allow him to gain powers to maybe not fight but to further his role?

Does knowing about how what is essentially Free Magic- actually wait that makes so much sense, the one power that doesn't have a Glyph tied to it would be the one that didn't play by the rules and allow for a lot more freedom with magic- allow them to shape what power they would get?

And also, did the Void Contracts shape how our current squad's powers too?

So much to think about!

Annoying but not too much so considering this thread's habits.
I already have an Omake that's waiting to be sent when I'm given the all green, so you are very much right

Edit: Hey can HumaGears get Will- wait is their ability to be people tied to the Will they've gained? Mind is brewing

-Have Himari try and figure out a way to control the Void powers lurking in all three of you.
-If she also wants to become a Kamen Rider afterwards, then that's fine as well.
Thinking about Will Seeds when this came up. Would this be eligible to revealing/obtaining a seed?

Jeebus why does everything in this quest happens as i sleep? Lovely chapter as always kermie, also nice rolls.

Eh, Rei will do that next update. You don't have to worry about that.
Uh oh. That sounds like it'll go very bad or very good.
It's good. Everything 90+ on random events is.

Jun's Place

You are Himari Kuromi. As you get to your seat on Jun's kitchen table, you have to wonder what's the big problem this time. You just got pulled off of your call with your sister a few seconds ago, because of something that happened while you had your headphones on and were on call.

As Rei, Akemi, and Jun burst out of the guest room, Rei being held up by their backs and arms, you get the slightest hunch about what the meeting might be about.

You turn over to look at your computer screen, but Kirata isn't there— she instead appears right next to you, stepping through a hastily constructed portal which shatters as she hops through, cane in hand. "Rei, what happened this time? Himari, do you know anything?"

"Hey, Jun just told me to get off my chair a few minutes ago! I've got no clue either!"

Rei coughs loudly, drawing both of your attention to her. Purrson hops from her shoulder onto the table, and you don't miss how Jun's eyes also follow Purrson's movement. "In all honesty, I'm just surprised about this little guy. Rei, when did the mysterious mentor you and Akemi kept on talking about get this cute?"

Kirata looks at you, confused. "What's up with the cat?"

"Um, I don't know how to tell you this sis, but the cat's always been there."

"Hey, can I get a chance to talk? You know, being the mentor and cat in question."

As Rei and Akemi take a seat at the table, Jun and Kirata's jaws drop, and they both speak at the same time. "It can talk?!"

Rei wipes off some sweat (wait, what?) from her brow, before sighing. "Purrson's a dude. And yes, he has a deep voice and can talk. But enough about that. The thing I need to talk about is really important to both of you. I'm gonna need everybody to sit down for this."

Jun sits down, and so does Kirata, who leans her cane against the wall. Jun gulps. "Um, Rei? How important, exactly, is this?"

"Just a bit."

Rei and Purrson then proceed to tell you about what might possibly be the craziest thing since that time Hina admitted that she was probably willing to sink the entire coastline of Tokyo if she got pissed off one more time. Will? Purrson's a part of the Void? Rei's apartment was paid for by an assassin that loved her like a sister? There are more animals like Purrson? Purrson might be a god or something?! The fuck?!

When Rei's done, there's silence at the table. Akemi's the first one to speak up, arms crossed over her stomach. "Purrson, are you sure that what this… other side of you said is accurate?"

The cat in question puts a paw to his chest. "Even if I don't remember much, I know what he said was without a doubt, 100% accurate. I know it in my heart. I only wish that some more of his knowledge could have bled over to me."

Meanwhile, your sister and Jun are both lost in thought. Kirata speaks up first. "...Purrson. How difficult would it be for me and Jun to gain this "Will" thing? I know a few Kamen Riders from the other Archmages. I think I'd be able to get a transformation of my own, if it'll help me fight off Umbra."

…and protect my sister, but that goes unsaid.

"I mean, yes… but you've got to get a life outside of just seeking revenge and looking at your magic! Actually believing in yourself takes more than just brute force spells!"

"Oh, come on!"

"Well, that reminds me," Jun interrupts, no doubt trying to steer the conversation away from any arguments, "Rei, didn't you get that ultra exclusive invitation to talk with all four active Archmages?"

"Yeah, I did. Kirata, how's the setup going on your end?"

"It's… ok, it's fine. Yuki's on board, but it's taking forever to get my coworkers Akasuki and Kisei on board." Kirata groans. "But if you need the meeting within the week, I can get you there. That way, I can give you everything we've gathered about the Void in a safer place."

"Hey, you don't think my house is safe?"

"It's a bachelor pad! If it wasn't for my sister, this place would look like a dump."

"I'll have you know that every single piece of glass here is bulletproof, and even the vents have security measures, Miss Kirata—"

WHAM!

Rei slams her hand on the table, silencing everyone and making Purrson jump a bit. "Guys. We don't have time for this crap. Like it or not, we need to figure out what Umbra's doing before Awakening Day, and fast. It's been ages since I've seen an Umbra operative, but I just fought a Shade about two days ago. At this rate, they might start multiplying or something."

She holds up a little charm as she says that, one made of blue felt. "My new acquaintance Fuji gave me this charm, and told me that he'd be down in the Shonai Underwater Settlement if I needed to know more. Aside from that, we haven't even started on any of the other leads that we've heard of."

Kirata raises her eyebrows. "Shonai? For all intents and purposes, they're pretty much independent from Japan. I can supply you guys with some minor things to prepare you for the trip, but I can't really come with you on that kind of mission. I'm—" she checks her phone, "already eating into my time as is. If I get fired from being an Archmage, then I'm not getting that title and all the free swag that comes with it back, y'know."

"Well, it's not like we're against you giving your help where you can, sis." And geez, saying that still sounds weird. "We've definitely gotta start locking in, though. March starts tomorrow, and from there on out we're on a race against the clock until the 29th." Hey, you even remembered the exact date of Awakening Day. Go you!

As the table descends into silence once more, Kirata begins to prepare her portal back, and Purrson gets in the center of the table. "Well, there's no more time left to doubt ourselves. Everyone, let's get ourselves and our plans together, and go into next week swinging."

Plan Phase!
Week 5: March 2 - March 8
Current Amount Of Capital: 5
Current Objectives: Discover the secrets of Umbra. Don't get killed. Try not to die.

3 WEEKS UNTIL REVERSAL OF AWAKENING. (29TH OF MARCH)

Missions:

These are confirmed leads that will directly progress the main plot, and are counted as Major Actions. A combat encounter is almost guaranteed if you take a mission unless said otherwise.

You may take missions in any order, but you may take only up to two missions per turn. No more than that. All missions on Arc 1 give Intel on Umbra, so that isn't listed.
-[ ] Mystic Liquid
Out on the Shonai Peninsula, a bit out towards the coast, there is an underwater province of Tokyo, founded by a certain group ten years ago. The young residents of this place breathe and swim easily using water Glyphs, and apparently there's… magical animals there? You don't know. Getting access is really hard.
Jun says that there's been reports of Umbra activity there— apparently, someone's been messing with the geothermal power plants down underneath the ocean. You should look into that. Besides, how hard can swimming be?

Jun: Well, if Umbra gets down into the Shonai Settlement, there's a good chance that they'll be able to take some of the rumored "Magical Beasts" down there. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that doing that is the real reason why they're making moves to get their people into Shonai. I'd recommend at least partially pursuing this lead if you don't want to get your face bitten off by sharks.
Also, there's been some rumors of a "siren", who's entrancing the animals with her voice. Like some sort of fucked-up fairy tale princess. We haven't heard any rumors of her entrancing humans… yet. But you can deal with her Rei, I know you can.

-Part 1 out of 3 of the (Seas Of Shonai) questline.
-This counts as one Major Action, thanks to the effects of the One-Time Shonai Teleport Charm. However, it isn't recommended to do alongside Scout The Skies.
-Himari will be coming along.
-Chance of alliance with Magical Girl "Ariel" a hero that's quite good at swimming.
-Fuji lives down here! Cool!
-Eventual encounter with Dark Magical Girl "Siren".
-Gain the action [Explore Shonai] at the end of this Questline!

-[ ] Scout The Skies
Eiganjo. A stupidly expensive project made by the government and some billionaires. It's a bunch of flying islands, held up by a crap-ton of Air Glyphs. It's mostly a tourist destination and rich people haven. Ugh.

However, if Umbra was to disrupt the record-setting Awakening Day parade there, it would cause panic throughout all of Japan. Even if they don't do that, there's still a lot of money that's very easy to take once the community accepts any of their spies. It's recommended that you stop that.

Jun: I've got good news, bad news, and terrible news. Good news, Awakening Day is taking place down in Tokyo, so we don't have to worry about Umbra crashing a floating chunk of land into our houses. Bad news, Awakening Day is taking place in Tokyo, in the chunk near where we are.

Terrible news: I've heard that Umbra's trying to make deals with some of the big corps up here. Them investing in teleportation and cybernetic augments sounds like a terrifying thing for us to deal with, even if both those things are still mostly in beta.

Wait, what do you mean you've got a portal to Kyoto? Rei? Rei, get over here!

-Part 1 out of 3 of the (Sky Palaces Of Eiganjo) questline.
-This counts as TWO Major Actions. As such, it isn't recommended to do alongside Mystic Liquid.
-You may choose between Akemi & Purrson or Himari to come along.
-Chance of alliance with Magical Girl "Nobelle Diamante", someone with a LOT of money.
-Possible sponsorship by Rensoku Consortium or H-Space Corp.
-Eventual encounter with AccelTech and Dark Rider "Lightspeed".
-Gain the action [Explore Elganjo] at the end of this Questline!

-[ ] Fashion Forward
Akemi's always been into fashion, but it seems that her time away from you and the Guild stoked this fire even further. Also, apparently Umbra's doing something in Harajuku, aka Japan's fashion central? Something about fake modeling opportunities?
You dunno. You just wanna spend more time with Akemi.

Jun: Nope. Nuh-uh. The Yakuza are involved. Something about selling "people, drugs, and opportunities?"
I'm not fucking with them. Long story. You and Akemi can go and beat up some people, I'm just gonna be overwatch.

-Part 1 out of 2 of the (Fashion Of Harajuku) questline.
-Akemi & Purrson will be coming along.
-Meet Kamen Rider "Yoshiki", a man with a flair for the beautiful. Chance of new Card Spirit/form.
-Intel on… the Yakuza???
-Counts as a Social Action with Akemi, if that interests you.

-[ ] Magic is Showtime!
After a very lucky break (read: Himari and Jun hacking the website), Akemi got invited to Showtime Studios, a group of Thaumaturges and engineers in charge of the Magitech holographic constructs deployed on each Awakening Day. You'll be her +1! This could be a good opportunity to see what security measures are or aren't there.
Also, apparently you can see one of Kirata's friends there! Cool!

Jun: I didn't actually hack the website. You're giving me too much credit. I stole a ticket from a Skull Face's pocket. Himari just hacked the ticket itself to make it one of the winning ones. But Showtime Studios is a genuinely good place to check out; and it would be nice to see if Umbra's there, trying to muck about.
-Part 1 out of 2 of the (Dance, Sorcerer, Dance!) questline.
-Combat is unlikely.
-Akemi & Purrson will be coming along.
-Get to meet Archmage No. 3. Eventual chance of formal alliance with The Archmages, chance of new Card Spirit/form.
-Meet Shelley Marie untransformed, a Magical Girl with an appreciation for the arts.
-Chance of an encounter with Umbra or Dark Rider ???. Combat is still unlikely, however, as they will also be untransformed and taking notes.
-Gain Intel on Awakening Day and Showtime Studios.

-[ ] Missing Piece
The Archmages of Japan are the five strongest magic users/thaumaturges in the entire nation. And you've gotten to know one of them personally- Kirata Kuromi. She's called you up for a meeting so that they can hear your plea, and help out during Awakening Day. Also, apparently they want to have a friendly spar with you???
Rei: I've heard that some of them are Kamen Riders, apparently. The "friendly spar" against one of them could be a way of them gauging my power as someone similar.
Also, there's only four Archmages currently active in Japan. I'm curious about what happened to the strongest one.

-Meet Archmages #5, 3, and 2.
-Gain intel on the Void. Gain intel on Archmage #1. Gain intel on ?????
-Chance of formal alliance with The Archmages, chance of formal alliance with ???, chance of new Card Spirit/form.
-Only Rei may go on this mission.

-[ ] Tracking The Shadows

It's time to track down one of Umbra's bases, and get some direct answers. Jun can do it, it'll just take some time.
Jun: Some of the Skull Faces I fist fought had some maps on them. I could triangulate the location that we need to find from there. It would take a minute, but I'd be able to do it.
-Go to hell, and come back with the knowledge that you need.
-Fight Kamen Rider Dokuro, someone with a very familiar mask. Also fight a crap ton of Skull Faces. Like, at minimum ten at once.
-Chance of gaining capital, intel on Umbra, alliance with ???, new Card Spirit/form, new Skills for Akemi and Himari, and ???.
-All main characters (Jun, Akemi, Himari, Purrson) will be coming along for the ride.
-Recommended: Take on weeks 6-7, or when Rei is Level 5-6.

-[ ] Wake Up [STORY REQUIREMENTS UNMET]
It's time to take the fight to Umbra. You want to keep your home, and your life, no matter what it takes.
-It's not time yet.
-Becomes available Week 7, must be taken Week 8.

Major Actions
Thanks to the effects of your rest last week, you currently have FOUR of these.
(Buff to Major Actions ends after this week! You may take two more Minor Actions and one more Major, but it's worth noting that Burnout will have its consequences week 6.)
-[ ] Try to look for other local heroes. (DC ???, Mental)
-Does not attempt to look for either Secret Society— that is literally impossible at the moment.
-At the moment, success is not likely in the slightest due to Monstrous Composition, but you might be able to get the DC down.
-If you roll high enough, there's a small chance you might get to meet the local hero of Akihabara…

-[ ] (NEW) Investigate a rumor you heard. (DC 65/80/110, Mental)
-Fuji got this rumor over to you. Apparently, he heard rumors about some Dark Magical Girls. Ignoring the fact that it seems that the only difference between "good" Magical Girls and "dark" Magical Girls is their edginess and fashion sense, it seems that these Magical Girls are somewhat… mindless? They just wreck up shops and then leave. What is happening?
-(Recommendation: Bring either Himari or Akemi with you, or even both of them. Level 6-7 recommended.)
-Fleeting: Will disappear after three weeks.

-[ ] (NEW) Figure out what the hell is happening with Akemi. (DC ???, Magical)

-Kirata is curious, and this time she's bringing her A-game. S-game? Z-game?
-May gain you some info on Void Contracts.
-May trigger a combat encounter on failure.

-[ ] Gather some covert intel on Umbra. (Medium DC, Mental.)
-You know that Mr. Skull Face likely still remembers your face. It's better that you get a drop on them first.
-May trigger a small combat encounter on failure.

-[ ] (NEW) Wander around Tokyo.
-Gives you an encounter with an important character, guaranteed. However, they're likely going to be in civilian form…

-[ ] Have a "talk" with Purson.
-Probably best to warm up and get stronger before trying again.

Minor Actions
You currently have THREE of these.
-[ ] Find, fight, and interrogate a group of Skull Faces.
-Will trigger a small combat encounter.
-On success, you might get some more intel about Umbra…

-[ ] Go to your local gym.
-it's free, but it's not as good.
-Will boost Physical for this week only.
-You may also gain a small amount of EXP.

-[ ] Ally Training
--[ ] Who?

-Attempt to scout out someone who either already is a Kamen Rider or Magical Girl or someone who has the potential to become one, and get to know them by learning something from them.
-You might learn something from them! They might learn something from you!
-Counts as both a Social and Physical activity.

-Uses up your Recollection Enhancer to get you multiple choices for a memory.
-Requires no DC.
-Even the QM has no fucking clue what this'll get you.
-[ ] (NEW) Work the cashier at Animate. (DC 55)
-Gives 3-4 Capital.
-Something interesting is going on at the store this week! If you take a few extra shifts, you may meet somebody intriguing.

-[ ] Visit the Gundam Factory with Arata.
-Starts the Building a Gundam! side story.
-You may meet some very intelligent people.
-Himari is interested in coming along, but you'll have to explain to Arata why she's so… like that.

-[ ] (NEW) Try to socialize with Aoi and Hikaru, make sure the bar's ok. (DC 35)
-Might grant access to a new part-time job (which yes, you can balance with the Animate thing.)
-Even if the check fails, you'll still get to socialize with Aoi and Hikaru.

-[ ] Spend some time with someone.
—[ ] (Who?)

Mai
-Might get a promotion! Yay for nepotism(?)
Arata (already covered above)
Kirata
-Might gain more insight into how Glyphs work!
-Himari might like you more for this!

-Obviously, may progress Magic features.

-[ ] (NEW) Augment a Spell

-Graft an extra Glyph or extra Rune onto a spell you already have. (DISCLAIMER: Kirata Kuromi and the Archmages of Japan are responsible for any "explosive" results.)
-You can see which Glyph can go with each Spell in the Magic & Tech tab!
-You may only add one enhancement (extra Glyph/Memory) to a spell at a time.
-[ ] Ask the Mad Scientist for something new to defend yourself with.
-Force refreshes Nakayama's shop, with a bonus chance of getting something rarer or discounted.
-Three items that can be used in daily life or in combat will pop up for purchase, and may remain there if not chosen. (prices may fluctuate)
-You will not know how much something will cost until you see it.

-[ ] "Safely" "Prototype" something with Nakayama. (DC 50/75)
-This one might hurt.
-Advances your progress towards more Tech features, and Nakayama working with you on Rider stuff.
-Himari and Kirata are interested in this action.

-[ ] Surf the web. (DC 45/60/80)
-Now that you're sure that you won't get jumped (digitally) try and look around! Search for something interesting!
-Might find new Major Actions!
-Himari and the Malice Collective are (obviously) interested in this action. Having the Malice Collective lowered the DC for this action.

These actions are extremely easy to do— Rei can finish them on her way home from her job.

You may take as many of these as you please.

-[ ] Work at Animate, but only part time.
-Gains 1 Capital.
-Does not require DC, and always gives this much.
-Prevents Mai from firing you.
-Obviously mutually exclusive with Work the cashier at Animate, since that involves actually putting effort into your job.

-Cost 1 Capital, required in order to access your local dojo.

-[ ] Explore Tokyo
-Why? Why not?

-Chance of random rewards.
-Thanks to the effects of Acceltech Explorer, your first [Explore] action is free. However, if you take another one, that'll count as a Minor Action.

-[ ] Explore Kyoto
-Kirata has a portal, so you may as well use it.
-You may meet some interesting people.
-Chance of random rewards.
-Akemi is quite interested in this action.
-Thanks to the effects of Acceltech Explorer, your first [Explore] action is free. However, if you take another one, that'll count as a Minor Action.

-[ ] Craft A Spell
-Only the first usage of this action is a Free Action.
-This action may be used multiple times in a turn, but the second one and up costs one minor action.
-You'll be able to decide what you want once we get into the week proper.

-[ ] Buy something from Nakayama.
--[ ] (What?)

Nakayama's Offerings:
Weaponsmithing Kit (4 Cost)
Grade 3

Condition: Great (d90)

I mean, it's pretty easy; just search up some stuff on YouTube, you'll be able to fix up your own stuff easily.
-Enables access to the [Fix Up] action, with extra effectiveness on Weapons. (The gun, Akemi's sword, and anything else in that jurisdiction count as weapons,)

Magboots (3 Cost)
Grade 2

Condition: O.K. (d75)
These things can latch onto walls! You can even walk on ceilings with these bad boys! Just uh, don't use them for more than three minutes at a time.
-Allows for new write-ins.

Anti-Bug Bangles (0.5 Cost)
Grade 1

Condition: Brand New
Whenever a pesky mosquito gets close, this little bracelet around your legs gives them a tiny zap! Ain't that cool?
-Gives a +5 to any rolls made against [Animal] and [Insectoid] enemies. Can only be equipped to one character at a time. Can be broken by Blunt attacks.

-[ ] Buy something from Kirata.
--[ ] (What?)

Kirata's Collection Of Junk:

1x Earth Glyph (1 Capital)
1x Water Glyph (1 Capital)

This spell allows you to uh… jump really good for the rest of combat. Like, jump over skyscrapers in one bound easily.

When cast, gives you a free action afterwards, and advantage on any rolls made against airborne or flying enemies for the rest of combat. It also gives you advantage and a +30 bonus on any Finishing Moves. Oh, and of course this one allows for write in utility!
(Intended for use in a RIDERRR KICKK—)
(The other spell here was too expensive for Kirata to justify giving it to you. Sorry!)

-[ ] Buy something from Jun.
--[ ] (What?)

Jun's Black Market Dealings:
Underworld Heat: (0/100)

Illicit Items:
Convenient Bug (2 Cost)

-Opens up a few write-ins.
-A bit morally reprehensible, but since you already chose to be [A Monster Seeking Kindness], Rei will not have any hang-ups about this.

Hammerspace (Illegally Modified) 4 Cost)
Grade 2

This bag is a bit like the one that I got for your motorcycle, just a bit different. It's got a hidden extra hammerspace attached onto it for… illicit items.
-Allows Rei to carry around an unlimited amount of items ignoring weight, provided she could stuff them into the equivalent of two suitcases.
-Also has a hidden compartment, so she can hide any number of [Illegal] or [Illicit] items. Or even people.

Pay for Intel about…
Umbra (3)
Guild (1)
Archmages (2)
Current Missions (2) Unnecessary.
??? (Write In, please @QM)

Companion Actions:
Each Companion (other main character) has TWO actions of their own each week. You may decide what they do with these actions.

-[ ] Train your technopathy powers.
-Have Himari attempt to push her skills in the [Technopathy] skill tree.
-May increase her Mental and Physical stats.

-[ ] Train your coding skills. (DC 60, Technical)
-Have Himari attempt to push her skills in the [Codes] skill tree.
-May increase her Technical stat.

-[ ] Get some sunglasses. (Mental Check, DC 40/70)
-Have Himari attempt to nullify or dull the effects of [Cursed Eyes] by… not showing her eyes. Yes, really.
-Gives Himari and Jun some good bonding time.

-[ ] Make a read on the criminal underworld.
—[ ] Who?

-Counts as an action to Pay For Intel. However, this one's free.
-Himari will add her roll to Jun's to refine the info and leads that you'll get.

-[ ] Figure out the secret of the Archfiend's Armor. (Progress: 50/100, Mental)

Somewhere, far far away from our intrepid protagonists…

February 29, 2080, 9:02 PM
Tokyo, A Desolate Rooftop

The streets are quiet. Well, as quiet as they ever are in Tokyo. The children watch the newest episodes of whatever new anime's out in the comfort of their families' homes, and the high schoolers are starting to get back home in time for bed. Or in time for some extra gaming before the electricity cuts out.

But all the way at the top of the skyline, one man stands, overlooking the city. His brown trench coat billows out in the wind, and he runs a hand through his delicate, graying hair. There have been no reports of Shades tonight thanks to the efforts of the four newest kids in the city, nor any reports of violent crimes. It's a good day, then.

He looks around for a bit, making sure nobody catches him or wonders why he's brooding, before pulling out a phone and holding it up to his ear. Any earpieces that he could use could be hacked, after all.

"Psyche… everything good on your side? Any new girls that you might need me or your brother to show the ropes?"

He waits for a response, reddish-black eyes somewhere between a fly's and a human's instinctively shifting to the side at the sight of what could be— oh. Never mind, it seems that it was just a rat. He turns his attention back to the call.

"Mmm? That Rei you told me about? I had her put on the "watch carefully" list. So?"

He sits down, clearing his throat out a bit. The lights of Tokyo have already grown brighter, some walls painted with neon graffiti to replicate spells and glyphs. Even from the top of the city, the creativity of the youth below still shine brightly enough to be seen. Awakening Day may have been the origin of many of his problems, but it's been his favorite holiday for years now.

It's a shame that he'll have to spend it away from the grand parade, considering how many threats there could be. Even the tiniest bomb threat is something worth trying to fight off- all for the good of the city he loves so much.

"You got that info from your brother? Alright, alright, I'll try and track her down, we need everyone we can get for Awakening Day. Don't worry, I'm not gonna throw hands with her just because she accidentally vaporized a few Skull Faces. Both of us have done worse."

He takes a deep breath, and scans the city, the stingers underneath his skin quiet for now. In his spare hand, he grabs something from his pocket, and holds up a small crystal to the light of the moon. It's about the size of his palm, teardrop shaped, rippling with dots like the compound eyes of a dragonfly- and it glows with a beautiful ruby-red sheen.

"If she was that powerful in her first fight all those weeks back, I can't wait to see how much she might have grown. Maybe she even found a few friends. Heck, I hope she found a few friends like us, actually. Definitely would help her out with this whole life we live… heck, she might be the first person in the new generation to get a Will Seed like mine. You think that could happen?"

The Will Seed in his hand shines brightly as something interesting begins to happen. The Seed seems to dissipate, almost as if dissolving into thin air. As it does, starting from his right hand, a green carapace of armor begins to creep around his body, fortifying his muscles and activating his latent mutations. He smiles, as a green helmet with ruby-red compound eyes closes around his head. He stretches his calves, while still listening to his friend on the other side of the phone.

"Probably going to get one within the year? Man, I hope you're right, Psyche. We need all the help we can get, with Umbra around. I don't normally do this, but I'll take your request, and I'll check out this "Rei Maruki" myself. Who knows? Might even invite her to the organization if she isn't opposed to it. Just save me a drink once I get back to your safehouse, alright?"

He nods, as the call cuts off with a beep. Yet another thing on his list, another person to protect, another one to teach.

But for the oldest and most experienced Kamen Rider in Tokyo, it's just another day on the job. Money is unnecessary- the reward of making sure that the world he loves so much is safe is plenty enough.

And on that note, the night is still young. It's time for some patrols, just to make sure. He crouches down into a sprinter's stance, and takes a deep breath.

And he jumps, leaping off into the night, jumping from roof to roof…

…as nimble as a grasshopper.

[??????? ?????????? will be showing up on a random Mission you choose this week! He's pretty damn cool.]

Author's Note:
Hm, I wonder who that was… ah well, I'm sure he won't drop into Rei's life and make anything stranger! Yup, and I'm sure that the Will Seed he was holding doesn't mean anything!

Hideki Taijima said:
"Almost all the riders have a tear line below their eyes. This represents the sadness of the Kamen Rider destined to fight his family (the evil organization who modified him into a remodeled human)."

"This is a symbolic element that still remains today."

Happy voting, heroes. Voting opens up early next morning!

Just got out of class and what do I see? A Kermie Update! Lets see....
....Well things are about to get interesting... need to see the missions in more detail, but I assume the Archmage Mission is the one you said we should probably have a level or two before tackling?

And know I see what you meant by that 98...
Bruh... Kermie you have no idea how tempted I am into writing for more EXP.

No, it was this one that you should wait up a bit on.
