Perhaps. You should go to Middenheim and you can figure such things out.

I'd say that if we go to Middenheim that we should try to time it to when we're trying to learn Battle Magic level Ghur spells, so we can make use of our proximity to the Flame of Ulric for bonuses to our studies.

Preferably when we also have a job offer on the line given that it means paying lodgings again since we won't be staying at the Bull's Keep while there.

I still think the Fire Spire is at least as good a bet for additional magic and would vastly prefer to head to Praag.

Either way if we aren't heading out to a city with an elven quarter then I'd prefer to stay in Erengrad for awhile so we can recruit some more elves first. Plus Erengrad has the one elven mage that actually seems like they might be willing to teach us something in the local priestess of Isha, so I'd want to try to get some lessons from her first before we leave the city.

I'm fine with staying in Erengrad for a while, I'd just really prefer Praag over Middenheim if we're heading to some place with a significant wizardly presence.

In terms of our chance to learn new magic I'd say Middenheim seems likely to somewhat edge out the Fire Spire, both because the Middenheim College is an older and nore established institution and because Middenheim has a very powerful Ghur magic site, which means bonuses to learning Ghur spells, but I don't imagine the difference is so big we'd have to head out to Middenheim, unless we're specifically intending to learn Ghur battle magic at the time, in which case heading to Middenheim would be pretty prudent due to bonuses to learning Ghur from proximity to the Flame of Ulric.

Middenheim may be more established, but the Fire Spire is explicitly an inter-tradition institution attempting to attract a lot of people of different magical traditions. There's gonna be a significantly smaller subset of available options for the kind of things we can learn in Middenheim, I'm pretty sure.

If nothing else, the Fire Spire is certainly building on a substantially more magic-friendly population than the Middenheim guild. Whatever Ice or Hag Witches they could attract have old traditions of their own as well.

Honestly it's too bad that Bretonnians don't hire mercenaries. For the time being at least they probably have what are the best human Ghyran, Azyr and Ghur wizards in the Old World.

But I am in fact voting for four spells, the highest existing number being voted for.

Laughs in my own 5 spell vote.

Sure, so long as you've got couple months of spare time and students willing to acknowledge the existence of Dhar, willing to acknowledge that its bad, and willing to acknowledge that they have something to learn from you about it.

Well for showing dhar being bad for you we just need to kidnap the dude whose body and soul are visibly shriveling into ruin! Surely there is nothing wrong with this brilliant idea!

I am not against investing in foundations, but maybe a foundation more compatible with our school of magic, not elementalists?

Our magic is completely compatible with the elementalists' school of magic. Not our problem they can't handle the high-grade fuel that is the Winds even though their spells can.

They have the best tyromancers too.

What is a tyromancer?

If just a couple of people change their votes, it will be decided.

Many people voting multiple plans at the same time has made things pretty messy this time.

The Swift Spears

Nareshna Swiftspear was daughter of Toriel Swiftspear, Head of Minor Noble House of Swiftspear, one of Noble House of Sith Rionnasc, whose members give their due to the city by serving amongst City Guard.

Obviously, this didn't meant that she was except from the levy, so when it was time for her to fullfill her duty to Ulthuan, she left the city on a ship, along with other conscripts.
If she is a noble, she is except from the levy. Nobles are under heavy social expectation to volunteer to fight as Silver Helms, but they are not subject to the levy. They might volunteer join the levy if they can't afford a horse and armour, but even then that's not them being subject to the levy.

She knew that technically she could just demand whatever forces she wanted, but this was her father, not some random Prince.
No, she cannot. The authority of the Handmaidens comes from the Everqueen, a retired Handmaiden has no authority at all.

Also, if they're minor nobility then saying "random Prince" is really weird because Princes are their feudal superiors. It's like a baron in the Empire saying "some random Elector-Count".

@Blackout what would Fanriel's reaction be to tyromancy? How would she react if it worked?
"What a stupid medium to channel Azyr through."

That's Marienburg right?
Yes, Sith Rionnasc is the colony the ruins of which Marienburg was built on, and in modern day refers to the Elven Quarter of the city.
