I would assume the point is here more to tell your own personal stories. We have several of ourselves fighting against chaos and beastmen, which will likely net us more respect from these people than rambling on about ancient legends.

I mean, they call upon us to tell our stories because we are a Lore-Keeper, so i don't see how ancient lore would be badly received.

Ind war campaigns might also be well regarded, they might liken the beast-men to their own troubles in the norscan raiders.

Hm, maybe we should tell the tale of Aenarion the Defender, First of the Phoenix Kings, and the Curse of the Widowmaker. Might get some fun character moments out of it given that Fanriel is of his bloodline and has arguably fallen afoul of the Swords curse.

And the Kislevites would probably find hearing about the fight against the first great chaos incursion interesting - though they might think the elves arrogant for claiming to have saved the world from Chaos.
Mmm, the Tale of Aenarion is rather heavy stuff to tell a bunch of strangers you've never met before. I'm not going to forbid it, but just as a fair warning it's going to be a lot more intense and personal for Fanriel than the options I've presented.

Is that even something they advertise, the Widowmaker and the Curse of Khaine?
The Asur won't talk about where the Widowmaker is today or how the Vortex works, but telling a sanitized retelling of the Great Incursion is not forbidden or anything.

In general you're just supposed to avoid anything that's deeply shameful to the Asur, or that could inspire people to mess with things that should not be messed with.

[] [TELLING] Of the Wailing Fen, and her triumph over the Daemons

[] [TELLING] Of the defence of the human city of Marienburg against a greenskin siege

These I think make us sound understandable and capable and highlight our ability to fight alongside humans.
Some of the others are a little to impressive.

[] [HEARING] Of the power of Kislev's great gods.

[] [HEARING] Of the heroes of Kislev, who guide her people in dark times.

If there is crossover between our gods and there's we should probably figure that out quick. Also priests love speaking about their gods.

Same things with major allies.

[] [HEARING] Of the dangerous beasts that roam the land.

[] [HEARING] Of the strange magics of the witches.

Beasts to hunt, magic to look into and study and maybe even get ideas from.

[] [TELLING] Of the grim beauty of Yvresse.
Feel like this'd appeal to the audience

[] [TELLING] Of the Wailing Fen, and her triumph over the Daemons.
Fighting Daemons is always a good story

[] [TELLING] Of her first battle, fighting against marauding norsemen on the great ocean.
And Norsemen as well

[] [HEARING] Of the power of Kislev's great gods.
Topical

[] [HEARING] Of the heroes of Kislev, who guide her people in dark times.
Interesting

I'm liking the Everqueen and one of our campaigns as an option. We are here to sell ourselves and Wailing Fen is a very nice feather in our cap while the Everqueen is just nice culture fluff I want the GM to write.

[X] [TELLING] Of the splendour of Ulthuan's cities.
We're an elf, we should look the part and brag about how great our lands are, to impress the barbarians.

[X] [TELLING] Of the White Tower and the wonders of magic.
Fanriel is a big nerd and loves magic, so I'd really like to see her express it.

[X] [TELLING] Of the Wailing Fen, and her triumph over the Daemons.
Kislevites hate Choas, so telling them how we beat them will make them like us more. It's the only one I find truly necessary.

[X] [TELLING] Of the defence of the human city of Marienburg against a greenskin siege.
With that one, we show that the Asur are valiant defenders of the innocent humans who can't defend themselves, and it's another way to make Ulthuan look better.

[X] [HEARING] Of the strange magics of the witches.
I'm curious to see what an Asur mage will think of a magic school that doesn't follow the elvish paradigm.

[X] [HEARING] Of the enduring will of the Kislevite people.
I want to get some good vibes from the Kislevites, and it could show our elves that elves don't have a monopoly on bravery.

Feeling these answers for the time being...

I think one thing about Ulthuan, about its wonders and beauty, is a good idea. The Kislevites will expect it out of a high elf, to an extent. They'll want to hear about this wondrous place they'll never see. I'd say the Everqueen is a good approachable aspect there.

Then we can do one personal accomplishment, to show we're approachable. Norsemen, beastmen or greenskins. My preference is beastmen but it's pretty arbitrary.

That took longer than I would have liked, mostly because I've been addicted to Deep Rock Galactic and also sick as a dog for much of the week.

Getting addicted to Deeprock Galactic is as good a reason as any for releasing a chapter late. The game's great. Same with the chapter, I enjoyed it alot!

[X] [TELLING] Of the grim beauty of Yvresse.

I feel the Kislevites would be able to connect with Yvresse since they're both rather dreary places that deal with frequent raids, and also see themselves as the bulwark for many others. Bragging about Ulthuan's beauty in general would be expected, and I don't think it'd be necessarily poorly received, but this seems like the better option.

[X] [TELLING] Of the Wailing Fen, and her triumph over the Daemons.

Who doesn't love a story that ends with daemons getting krumped? I bet the kislevites do. Not to mention, it makes us look pretty good, too.

Edit:

[X] [TELLING] Of the time she fought alongside the noble Dragons of Caledor, ancient allies of elvenkind.

Can't believe I forgot dragons.

[X] [HEARING] Of the terrifying spirits of Kislev.

[X] [HEARING] Of the strange magics of the witches

Being a Loremaster and having dark curiosity, I just felt like Fanriel would want information on stuff like this. Though I will admit, most of the other options also seem like stuff Fanriel would want to know. I doubt any would be much more concrete/grounded than the other.

I don't think we should double down on personal accomplishments (and of those, I think this is probably the best story), but talking about our homeland's beauty is a better call and more likely to resonate than trying to talk up our cities.

I wanna know about local magic stuff!

Still two more hours before voting is open.

I feel like this will be well received by the Kislevites. Besides, everyone understands the love one holds for home. Poor Fanriel for having to think about how she'll probably never see it again though... but, well, this seems like a healthier environment than most for beginning to tackle that.

[] [TELLING] Of the Wailing Fen, and her triumph over the Daemons.
As someone above said, any story that has daemons getting krumped is a good story. Also, after the unhappy compromise earlier, telling tales of our ability and commitment as a warrior against the Ruinous Powers can't hurt for having warmer relations with the trackers and priests for the rest of our journey.

[] [HEARING] Of the power of Kislev's great gods.
Everyone in the squad having vague familiarity with a core tenet of Kislevite society is a good idea. Plus, given that there are cool tapestries of the gods on the walls of the great hall, I think the people of this settlement will likely have a bunch of good religious stories.

[] [HEARING] Of the heroes of Kislev, who guide her people in dark times.
One of the core necessities to navigating a new culture is understanding their unique spin/emphases on values. Hearing stories of those they aspire to be like is a good way to start.

Awesome update.

Agreed, I can see the similarities between Yvresse and Kislev and it would be nice to draw parallels as also being from a place known for a grim, determined people that stand as a bulwark against Chaos

Fair point, but one thing to keep in mind is our audience and what they know and their perspective on what we ask them. These guys are likely going to tell us second-hand superstitious nonsense that they heard from their Babas, Shamans and Priests if we ask about supernatural stuff, meanwhile Gods and Heroes are something they would be more knowledgeable about.
