We said that hunting is fun, but Madoka is terrible at it and needs to practice before she is dead again. Bunnycat is trying to get her to go hunting witches fishes, which means he is trying to make Madoka dead again, which makes him a liar and a pink girl stealer and he needs to go away before we eat him.

Just caught back up to the quest, and I realize we've spent over 125 updates in less than three days (In universe). Being Best Cat. (What if we turn (Insert Something Here) into a cat).

Experiment with turning everything into a cat?

This is interesting. In-character, we want Madoka to hunt with us. Out of character, we've assimilated Homura's "Madoka cannot contract no matter what" policy (and I have no idea why we did this, considering we're fine with anyone else contracting). And this conflict is showing in the votes, as some people attempt to find in-character reasons and methods to convince Madoka not to contract, while others say "fuck that" to Amura's established motivations and have her try to convince Madoka directly. Others still completely ignore Amura's established characterization on top of ignoring her motives and deliver blatant, well-spoken threats to Kyubey (which I'm pretty sure was meant to be a gag vote that obtained a following).

Yeah, I don't know what's up with the articulate threats either.

The thing is, Amura does like Madoka, and would probably like her to contact and be a magical girl with her, but she also remembers that the last time Madoka went hunting she was bad enough at it that she died. So Amura wants her to practice by hunting easy stuff like squirrels and hamsters and birds and stuff, before graduating on to the big leagues like the fish that Amura hunted with Mani, who's a good enough hunter that she could almost be a cat. She has no concept whatsoever that Madoka doesn't want to kill cute things; after all, if she wants cute then Best Cat is right there, waiting for scritchies.

On the other hand, here is bunnycat, who previously promised to make Madoka be not-dead, encouraging her to go hunting again, even though it knows that Madoka is bad at hunting. Again, no idea that this is a Kyuubey that has no recollection of prior loop events, so, as far as she knows, this is the same bunnycat that she believes promised to revive Madoka. That makes bunnycat a liar, since it promised to make Madoka not-dead and now it's trying to get her to do something dangerous, like hunting when she's not very good at it.
 
And that would be an example of attempting to come up with an in-character reason for Amura to convince Madoka not to contract.

Well, if Amy stopped to think, she might remember that Kyubey has explicitly stated it has no memories of contracting her.

That makes bunnycat a liar, since it promised to make Madoka not-dead and now it's trying to get her to do something dangerous, like hunting when she's not very good at it.

Well, no. Kyubey promised to grant Amy's wish - which it did. It is under no obligation to not follow its own desires in other matters ... and Amy is likely to believe that Kyubey can make Madoka not-dead again. Besides, if Madoka doesn't practice hunting, she'll never get any better, so why would Amy object to something that would make Madoka better at hunting?
 
And that would be why I described it as "attempting." Of course, being a kitten, Amura is under no obligation to be reasonable. Or to follow basic logic.

Amura is a newly sentient kitten, not a lawyer. She wants Madoka to be not-dead, not to have bunnycat keep on reviving her forever.

You say that, but it doesn't come across in the vote. It's not asking Madoka to hunt small things first, it's saying that if Madoka hunts witches she will die.

Obviously that was because she didn't have Best Cat to teach her how to hunt! Now that Best Cat is here, Madoka won't be bad at hunting.

How does Madoka contracting lead to Madoka being dead in a way that Amy can't change? You can't use Madoka being bad at hunting because Amy can fix that by teaching her how to hunt properly.
