Magical Girl Home Base Quest

[X] No, you want to improve your base instead.
[X] Trompdoy & Eowyn (4 Gubbins, 12 Spooky, 2 Demonic)
[X] Yes

I kinda want to sell the wand to Mistletoe, but we will never have enough actions to research ten minor artifacts... And because we can apparently sell only one major item per turn, it's not very useful to craft anything this turn. This is a base quest, so lets upgrade our base.
I think you want "building" or "workshop" rather than "base".

It's seems like people forgot that upgrading the building/base benefits the MGs in more ways than just adding rooms. I'm pretty sure that the Medical Center upgrade we passed on might be behind building upgrades too.
It wouldn't be, actually. To unlock special rooms, we need special events to happen.
Well, my question doesn't substantially change - does this mean we can't develop the other one later without special events?
Correct. The special events are basically the same, but this determines whether you can get flags for one or the other. The one you don't pick isn't permanently locked out, but it is pushed behind two or three other special rooms.

Only a 1 vote difference between two of our vote categories. Super tight vote now.

I think that right now we need the workshop improvement more than the building improvement. Both are really useful, but the last one gave us 3x bombs per crafting action, which is such a ridiculous improvement on top of making all our crafted equipment last significantly longer. The building upgrade might just give us another room, but we've already got a vacancy so that's not as important. The other possible upgrades would certainly be nice, but not as nice as getting more automatic equipment crafting or other such improvements. Even if it only gives the bare minimum of increased tool lifespan, that's still crucial. One more workshop level would've boosted this wand from 12 weeks (rolled 2, *2*(2+1)) to 16 weeks (2*2*(2+2))

I have to admit I don't understand the desire to sell to Mistletoe, Elsie has the best offer, but if you want to limit it to residents, then Trompdoy & Eowyn amke sense, as they are already the second best offer behind Elsie. Mistletoe is the worst offer on the table.

While to unlock them we need special events, we already have the notice board unlocked, but not built. It's very probable that we need to upgrade the building to actually make those special rooms.

That is only true if you don't like the research. Which has been shown to be the main way to evolve our crafting, so... Even if we don't want to immediately research it, having something to research is IMPORTANT, and not something to be ignored. That said, I don't mean her offer is the best, but she needs equipment, and her offer is really not bad.

Althought the discussion already moved on, I'd just like to say this, even though I am voting for workshop: the building upgrade IS NOT only more rooms. It includes QoL, it includes having improvements that allow to have more people, not only on the rooms, as we saw before that we needed to upgrade the boiler, for example. Probably there is a list by QM for what gets upgraded each time, so it could be this time it'd be rooms, but that in itself is not bad. We've already seen that the girls here have became friendlier to each other, and having more people will not only make us safer, but probably them aswell.
Yeah, I want the workshop upgrade this turn too, but it is important to remember that upgrading our building does other things than just make rooms livable.
I know that, but last time we worked on the building was upping the capacity of the commissary. It would make sense that working on the building now would be openning more rooms.

Remember Kaguya last turn? She flat out told us that our crap hotel with rooms that smell like bleach and have stacked pallets for beds was still better then the place she was going to be staying, with zero hesitation. You can argue that this place is a shithole, and you'd be right. But it's a shithole with a roof that doesn't leak, hot showers twice a week and hot food everyday. To these girls, that's luxury.

Hopefully we can research those artifacts as a group, but even if we can't, at this point those two just aren't going to win. Mistletoe is the only tenant in the running, and she's damn close to winning.

I'll repeat again: I'm voting for the workshop. I don't think they desperately need something better for the building, but do you really want to keep them in this situation? We are here to save those girls, to unite them and to give them hope. Sooner rather than later, this will mean upping our game, not only in our crafts, but in what else we offer them.

Yes, but now's not the time. The people living here are Medicine Boy, Homer, Trompdoy, Eowyn, and Mistletoe. Calypso is in one of the cleared rooms, not a furnished one. Jocelyn is chained up in another. That's seven people total, one of whom I bet doesn't get to use the hot shower. Things are so bad here that they're the ones living the highlife. Hell, they've going their medical needs covered, that's amazing. We don't need the hotel to be better, we need more rooms for it so other girls and people magically affiliated can have at least that much to look forward to when their working day is over

It's also why I want to sell to Mistletoe so bad and up the workshop. I don't want to give them a few weeks of just the basics a human should have in their lives before kicking them out the door because the money ran out. I know, you're voting for the workshop, but bare with me. The wands, the trinkets, the costumes, those are the tools of their trade. I want them to always have what they need to do their jobs, so we never have the situation of a girl having a bad time and not being able to afford rent when a new girls comes with a fresh load of loot wanting their room. I don't want this place to become a revolving door that sucks it's residents dry then shoves them off for the next sucker. So far that hasn't happened, and I want to keep it that way. They live dangerous lives filled with uncertainty, and I want give them some level of comfort and stability while we can.

While I wanted to sell to Eowyn, that's not likely to succeed so I'll switch to Mistletoe. Keeping our rentees alive is important. Too bad we can't make enough gear for everyone.

I think we have plenty to research what with the Alchemist death curse to figure out. Not to mention that random events will likely cause one to show up.

Look, I understand your reasoning, but your same reasoning is the one we have for upgrading the building. We want more people, we want people to be well, so they can work at full capacity, or so they can heal in peace. I also share the thought that the minimum in equipments come first, but we don't need the strongest or full equips to every girl before we start upgrading the building, and the way it works we will ALWAYS have other people around, just coming for the crafts or, after we get there, for the other things we can offer. Right now we offer bed, food, bath and some odd crafts, but we could offer the notice board with information and partying up, we could offer better medical installations, we could offer peace of mind, a place to call home, or even just companionship, as this place expands.

We do give them equipment, but we are also here to give them hope, which is probably the most important thing to a magical girl, and the main difference between them and adventurers.

Know what? I'll switch my vote from Eowyn&Trompdoy to Mistletoe, since the former doesn't have any chance of winning at this point. I still want to keep the rest of my vote the same aside from that though.

Besides Mistletoe just really really needing some equipment - I want those research artifacts because we need to get our skill up if we want durable and cheap goods for our renters.

According to the GM.
You don't even know if you're going to keep her yet, much less dump the literal two weeks of work you'd need to develop an actual no shit MRI machine that spits data out for you to cobble together into an eight bit display where each pixel is a lightbulb you fogged the glass on top of before you account the time Homer has to reaserch and analyze this shit so you don't strap Joselyn in, push through her PTSD about being strapped to boards by strange dudes, and then run this clunker to go "yep. That's a shrapnel."

Tl;dr- no.
So she's going to need a lot of work first before we try research.

At this point I think we just have different ideas on what is needed most. Let's stop for now.

Reminder we chose that mission HQ option ages ago and haven't done anything to actually set it up. So that might be something we want to do in the near future since I only just remembered we voted on it just now.

We need to meet 20 Magical Girls before we can actually build it.
Develop the Threat Board System?
[] Yes (Unlocks room: Mission Control, requires 20 Magical Girl contacts, ???, and ??? for construction)
[] No (Unlocks room: Medical Center, requires 20 Magical Girl contacts, ???, and ??? for construction)

We've got 12 contacts listed, so we only need 8 more.... and we also need ??? and ???. When will we get ??? No idea! :???:

You also haven't finished meeting pre-reqs for it yet. Twenty magical girls before you can build it, remember?

I mean you already got the first one done when you built the Furnace II that lets you build multi-step magical tools, and the second one you could theoretically unlock next turn depending on how things go next update.

[X] Elise (16x Gubbins, 1x Major Item)
[X] Yes

Inserted tally

Incredibly neck and neck, especially since one of the Mistletoe votes is hiding at the bottom for some reason?

Edit: Ah, spelling. Also, an errant period is splitting the building votes.
