Well we can't be too harsh though. Remember stage theory.
stage theory was disproven smh

but I dont think that were really in a position to go all in on socialism anyway, nor would it be in character

lets pass some reforms, appease the workers, and go on with our day

does our new senate have property restrictions for voting/running? We could get rid of those maybe

Guys, I was mostly kidding. Obviously, nothing even remotely resembling Socialism, much less Communism, would ever happen in this Quest.

I just wanted to make a Jab at former Slave Owners (who REALLY want their Slaves back) and Industrialists out to exploit the Workers.

The workers are actually wishing for some nobles who are trying to butt into manufacturing to shove it considering the… ramifications that may have for the middle class who are becoming the upper class.

Also: Dear god that roll on the disaster roll is a thing of beauty.

Turns out my fuck ups benifited you guys greatly.

I think I made that clear as well.

The closest thing we can come to socialism in France is going to be pensions and state sponsored healthcare and education.

And maybe infrastructure programs.

That's it.

Urge to go Billy Yank, rises.

Then, if you are fine with it, we leave things as they are now and remember that personal actions benefit from the Empress of France trait (and that some personal action may benefit from the Pregnant trait, if that trait is still relevant).

Also, time to list traits, spirits and their numerical bonuses:

Traits (Thérèse)
La Petite Arpenteuse
Anywhere from +0 to +30 to all rolls, depending on how well the scouting went, +10 if an ally has scouted.

Nous Ne Tombons Pas
+20 to rolls when defending, -10 to rolls when going on the offensive.

Liberator of Mayence
+30 to diplomacy rolls after a battle where the enemy took more casualties and Thérèse did not take enemy soldiers as prisoners or slaughtered them, -20 to diplomacy rolls after a battle where any captive soldier is not released after a rout, -80 if enemies are being slaughtered after being routed.

Excommunicated (if still relevant as a trait)
-20 to all rolls when interacting with non-French Catholics or Catholics that aren't part of the French Army.

The Stormrunner!
Nullify any penalties from weather effects during combat (both when commanding and fighting).

The Amphibious Frogs
+10 to all rolls when conducting an amphibious invasion, raises to +40 if enemy forces are unaware of the invasion.

Shot (In the Chest) (if still relevant as a trait)
-30 to combat rolls, -10 to military rolls.

Empress of France
+10 to all personal actions when in France or a country allied with France in some shape or form.

Pregnant (if still relevant as a trait)
-20 to combat rolls, +5 to personal actions in some cases.

National Spirits (France)
Land For Heroes
DC reduction for some actions (likely military-related most of the times), +10 to the disaster roll.

Overburdened Bureaucracy
+20 DC and +5 Cost to some actions.

The Expectations of the State
In case the disaster roll rolls below 25 (not specified if before or after any bonuses that apply for the disaster roll), France enters a situation that, until resolved, inflicts a stacking -5 on the disaster roll, for every turn that the crisis is ongoing.

Thank you @ThatGuyWithIdeas

As for the national spirits of France we shall be getting an updated thing shortly.

By that I mean tonight after the update.

Yeah Frances wealth went down a point but everything else went up a lot.

We'll see soon.

If I had to hazard a guess, the Wrath of the Workers is not aimed at us, Napoleon or our Government but, conveniently, at the Industrialists and former Slave Owners at court who want to see us removed.
Yes and no.

Slave owners defiantly. But not for the reason you think.

You see slavery while outlawed still has an underground that is operating with many slaves (mostly enslaved Africans but also impressed debtors) basically working in the factories and undercutting wages that workers are trying to make, and threaten their job security.

So it's less a political movement and more a "we're going to start burning banks, freeing any illegal African slaves and bring these basterds to heel. By force if nessecery"
We need a map of influence. Also, hype for update.
Um in court? In France? In Europe? In the world? You have to be more specific?

Eh, I could still get behind that.

Though it would be better if we managed to free them without an uprising.

Um in court? In France? In Europe? In the world? You have to be more specific?
He means France's current influence in Europe, I think.

Interlude: The Mobility Lost, Returned by Miracle of Science
Interlude: The Mobility Lost, Returned by Miracle of Science

You saw the Sargent walking towards you under his own power, and realized that this was a miracle. "Empress." He said with a salute. "Or General?" He asked as he saluted.

Pirre's sleeve was rolled up and it revealed a very intimidating metal arm, with metal plating covering… something. The components "How" you asked, completely shocked at the piece of machinery.

"My brother is a genius, and he saw some of the smaller moving parts that were created in your machinery, and a surgeon of mine agreed to do the surgery, even when my life was at risk." the Sargent replied as he moved the arm, before flexing the fingers, and making a fist. "It's quite amazing, that he found a way to attach this… miracle to my bones and find it to work."

"That's incredible." You said with a smile, as he moved and walked over to his brother and stood next to him. "But why are you showing this to me?"

"Because your prize was five million Francs." He replied. "Is it possible that I can ask for something else as well?"

"Of course?" You replied.

"I want to patent this technology, and do my best to help these soldiers as best they can." He replied.

"That can certainly be arranged."

The man then said. "And I want to give it to any soldier for free."

That made you pause. "That's… why would you do that?"

"Because you have proved to me that you cared for the soldiers of France even more than the Emperor. The people of court may forget, but we never will." He stated.

Who was this man. "And who does the world owe?" You asked.

"Edward. Edward Ducos. Though my brother calls me Metalhead. Not the best name, but I enjoy another name... Fullmetal."
---------------------------------------------

Reward:

The Prosthetics created are fully metal and heavy, but are fully functional, connecting to the bone and nerves of soldiers' limbs, and bolted onto their arms and legs in a very invasive, and dangerous surgery.

But if they survive the surgery and the recovery period, they gain metal limbs that are 95% as effective as their human limbs. In addition to making the limbs bullet and explosion-proof, it also allows them to join the workforce.

All Casualty rolls from battles regardless of the outcome will be cut by 1/2, unless you are routed from the field.

If you lose a limb (Example Arm).

Fullmetal Arm: You have a full metal prosthetic, an arm created by Edward Ducos to give soldiers a second chance at life. (Regain full usage of your lost limb. Gain a +5 to combat rolls, no longer suffer a malus to personal rolls due to your crippling injury.)

AN: Enjoy.

Why do I get the feeling that they'll try to punch through Walls to see how strong they are?

Also could this work with fingers? I think Kellermann could use them.

The Rumor mill (Europe Only)
The Rumor mill (Europe Only)

Disaster Roll: 93+50=143

The Workers of France have… risen up in massive waves across the country, and attacked numerous factories… and locked them down.

What they discovered was nothing short of heinous. Hundreds, if not thousands of enslaved Africans, and tens of thousands of debtors who were all but slaves to their debts… including the soldiers who had lost everything fighting for their country.

The fury was palpable, when they dragged the owners in chains, to be tried for… well

Let's see, slavery, indentured servitude, illegal utilization of state funds… so much. With the workers electing their own factory leaders, for the time being, you see a great deal of new blood coming to court, now that the bloodsuckers who wished to see you discredited...

You could sleep easy tonight.

Reward: Court has been made much safer for you,and new businessmen and women are ready to meet you.

Certain actions now cost 0.

France is very much ready to state getting back to work.

Homefront investments now only cost 1.

Napoleon: 73
The Marshals: 96+80=

Kellerman smiled at the growing number of the Marshals that have arrived. "Gentlemen. Thank you for coming. Our plan here is simple. To plan the invasion of Germany, Austria, and Prussia. You will each be divided into three different groups, one focusing on the operational needs of three different theaters of war. We shall be going through a great deal of struggle and planning for every eventuality. For our force deployment, to supply, to movement, to commanders and how they would react."

Kellerman then set papers down. "You know your teams, and do be quite clear the Inspectors will be reviewing the plans, and the Emperor himself will be joining this planning session soon."

"Good luck, and do not think that if your plan fails to attract the attention of the Emperor or Empress does not mean they will not be noted, and improved upon. This entire escapade is for a bare plan, to be improved upon, and to promote unity among the Marshals and the higher commanders."

"Dismissed, to your teams. We have much work to be done."

The Emperor Smiled. "MArshal Kellerman… keep me informed."

Reward: The French General Staff has been formed by Marshal Kellerman.

All the Marshals currently in France are war planning a future war in Germany, a Defense of France in case of invasion, and the allocation of resources to numerous fields, including the medical, scientific, and strategic resources needed to commit war.

These plans are to be graded on their merit at a later date by the Emperor, or if he is busy… the Inspector General. You.

The Marshals gain a +30 to all planning rolls while the Staff is gathered.

New Actions are available.

Due to High Command being taken as a Marshalship requirement, You can commit multiple, preplanned, organized offensives with multiple independent commands… and if the General thinks they have a way to make it better, they will act upon it immediately.

Napoleon gains a +50 to all planning rolls when staff is gathered and is willing to listen to them on a regular basis.

Brian: 29

Biran has arrived in America, but he has been taken ill.

Reward: Brian is sick with the Flu.

Suchet:86
The Army of Spain:70

Suchet has seen many armies. In his career.

This was the shittiest one he had ever had the displeasure to command.

But it was his shit. And he needed to clean it. At least the Brits were now off the peninsula.

Sans Gibraltar.

Reward: Suchet has taken command and is recognizing the Army

Prussia: 97+76=173

"Gentlemen, it is time to discuss the matter that we all wish to see."

"The first reports have come in. We have a great deal to do.."

"Good, see to it done."

Reward:

Kriegspiel has been modified. The reforms begin. In 5 years' time, there will be a modern Prussian Army.

Austria:84

Austria has rebounded, partially, after Emperor Francis has granted a few autonomous regions for some of the many subjects of his empire.

But his relinquishment has made a great deal of power to him, as he began to look at his armies.

And realize that he is horribly beaten.

Reward: Austria has stabilized and has taken a long look into the mirror.

They need to change, adapt or die.

But they don't know-how.

GB:28
Irish Rebellion: 86

Let them know we shall all fight, and die for a free Ireland.

That was the proclamation of the Irish Republic in Dublin, twenty minutes before an entire regiment of British Regulars stormed the makeshift parliament building and captured or killed all twenty men.

And their people realized that they died for something.

A Free Ireland.

Reward: The Irish Rise, for God and Ireland.

Please note that the British Government is now on Suicide Watch and is going to do everything they can to keep the Irish down.

New Action Available.

Russia:93

Tsar Alexander's great diplomatic game has given him a great deal of influence across Europe.

And he wishes to use it in his games.

Reward: Alexander begins a great game. A Very Great Game in Europe.

Spain:47+10=57
Factions:2
https://rolz.org/embed?jgyx2ov3nq:kuyh7tem

The GReat Spanish Civil War has now become a slugging match, between two factions, after a winter of intense, nonstop fighting.

The Spanish Republic, and the Spanish Kingdom.

Reward:

Spain has finally stabilized into a front… now it is time to pick a side.
