You can see that the option means which to concentrate in training, not recruiting. So we won't get more of the big metal booms.
I would be happy with them being more accurate. I didn't see how shit Jourdan's situation is though, Christ. Surely we could ask for the Egypt plan to be pushed back a year, at least?

The thing is 'we' (as in Thérèse) don't really have the kind of political capital where we'd be able to weight on such a decision right now, I think. Especially since we don't even know who's running the show currently. Best hope we may have is that the whole thing gets cancelled due to a lack of resources (right now the French army should be in a pretty sorry state; it was one thing to give the okay to such a plan in 1798 where things were mostly secure at home, but in the current context, it might flat out not be feasible).

Question @Plausitivity. Will we have portion our new army into what roles we want them into
Like This:
-[]Infantry 60000
-[]Cavalry 15000
-[]Artillery 25000

Or will the plans be like this:
-[]Rhine
-[]Cannons
The plan is just
[] Plan name
-[] Rhine/Egypt
-[] Boot Camp/Horsemanship/Calibrations

It will be decided mostly by dice roll on how many of each you get, so you won't need to make any detailed formulas.

Alright

[]La Garde au Rhin
-[] Rhine
-[] Calibrations

How's this for a plan. No way in Reason are we going to Egypt not with this economy and with Italy not even being secured that give us a anti-Coalition buffer. And if we're gonna break through the Prussians on the Rhine we're gonna need guns.

I'm thinking splitting Germany into three. A Southern German Confederation, a Northern and Rhine based Protestant French Puppet and Prussia. They can all be part of a German League that would be like a mini EU but for Germany only.

Careful, it could lead to a unified Germany 50 years early if we do something stupid, and they get good.

Ah so recruiting happens regardless of the training choice?
Yep, most, if not all, of those men are gonna be assigned to your army, barring any unfortunate accidents.

I'm thinking two states: Northern Bavaria and Southern Prussia, to make sure people know which place they are in :V

Are these new troops being added to our old group (The Army of the Rhine) or are they separate Army which we are now commanding, whilst someone else commands our old group (The Army of the Rhine)?

[] Plan Elan
-[] Rhine
-[] Horsemanship

Morale gets sorely tested by cavalry charges. If you have much less cavalry than the enemy, they will let loose the finest cavalry in Europe (Austrian). A large enough army will impose casualties enough to win a battle before they break, but only if they can focus those numbers to their advantage. Really huge battles go to the big battalions, but at this scale, massed cavalry can wipe an army out during pursuit.

[] Plan Crossing the Rhine

Gave it some thought. I think the most pragmatic choice is to go across the Rhine and have Jourdan go to Egypt. Assuming France roll as bad as the past turns have been, we either have a disaster in Egypt or a disaster in France. Sorry Jourdan, I'm not willing to bet on you rolling high in France.

For the training, as far as I understand it, training and recruiting are separate. Focusing on cavalry or artillery would not mean getting more of them. It's up in the air on how much we get. What is more concerning is our infantry. We have alike what, our own 45k infantry, with 25 being untrained. And with Jourdan bringing in 95k green and low morale, 3/4 of our army would break against the Germans. They need to be trained now, lest they would start a mass rout from their end in a battle.

Sound like the best plan we have. Get the infantry too at least compitend and maybe there moral too whatever normal is and it might hold in the coming battles

If France's natural borders are the Rhine frontier, is not not also natural to establish a buffer state to protect our border from the aggression of the Habsburg and Hohenzollern? A divided Germany is good, a Germany divided in favor of France is all the better. For an Egyptian expedition, not only would our transport fleet have to evade the Royal Navy, every supply ship and reinforcement convoy would need to as well, not to mention the inevitable evacuation fleet.

I mean, Germany is already divided though right now? Anyway, I'm wary of putting in puppet states subservient to France. That would just justify the fear by other European powers that the new France would stop at nothing until she overthrows every monarchy. I rather not feed more fuel into that.

It's the majority of the men, but Jourdan is still able to reallocate depending on your choices. It's intentionally vague since certain factors are still unclear for Thérèse.

I've used the nifty new Scheduled Voting option in Tally (credits to Xon, may His light shine ever bright) for this vote to see how it works! You should all be able to see exactly when the voting will start at the top of the thread. Let me know if it shows and works!

They have a right to fear you, little dragon! It's time that the continent trembles when they hear of France. The monarchies' injustices will be struck down by your flames and steel!

... or perhaps you'd like a more moderate approach? Diplomacy is always an option, even in times of war. A good friend in the right place at the right time can mean all the difference in the world.

It's really up to you how Thérèse handles things, I'm sure it'll be awesome either way!

Behold, the Five Year Six Step Plan to make peace with Great Britain. :V

Step one: Go to Spain.
Step two: Wait for Napoleon's brother to cock everything up.
Step three: Wait for British assistance to arrive.
Step four: Hang out with anti-guerrilla unit and act dashing, moral, and modern.
Step five: Encounter 95th Rifles, let Richard Sharpe be Richard Sharpe.
Step six: Use new boyfriend to open back channel between Wellington and Napoleon.
Step twelve: Pose for portrait of husband, wife, and six children.

So what you're saying is that we create a new centralized German state under Therese's rule? I'm intrigued.

When Napoleon finally gets around to popping the question the pair will already have been practically king and queen of France for years and he just wants to make it official.
