This looks to me like making a mountain out of a molehill..
The issue about the omake points is legitimate, but the GMs already stated that they weren't going to allow it and only included them because they made no difference and that way they could confiscate them.
Robespierre walking? When we voted for the trial (or at least when I did) it was with the expectation that he had even chances of arguing his way free. Well, it happened, against the GM's desires, and much respect to them for not fudging the dice. That is the stuff that makes a Quest interesting.
We will see in the future if Max manages to get any of his influence back, or if any of the many people angry at him pulls a Corday on him.

Perhaps Napoleon is right. Maybe the quality of their enemies shows the quality of the Republic. Rob has seen a near thing. A shot across his bows. It can't humble such a man, but perhaps he will be more...circumspect? It may be to the good of France that Rob survives. That military intervention is against the act of excess rather than judging those that act. A limitation that could well be welcomed should the shoe ever be found on the other foot. Rob now knows what is "too much" and unacceptable. He has been clipped back of his allies and a new alliance might be found in other, more acceptable aims. There is no justice, let alone revenge in this outcome, but it serves some constructive purpose. Brian's efforts weren't for nothing and may well be appreciated by generations to come.

A new impossible task lies ahead of these giants on the stage of France. For Napoleon and Brian, they have Italy to gain and Austria to defeat. For Rob, he must move his political will forward from this full stop. A natural centre for the zealous and self-righteous, he might limit their excesses through experienced cautions about the cost of getting everything your own way. He won't see it as mercy, as he saved himself, of course, but he will see it as an indication of predictable outcome. Next time his grip might be firmer, but would that liberate him or damn him? This first trial was rushed and lacked political weight against him. A new enemy might take the time to ensure a stronger case against him, using the cases as yet unnoticed and evidence yet to be found. This is a more accountable and cautious Robespierre.
And don't forget the loving Arms of a Prussian Army that our favorite surveyor turned general will need to deal with.

If Jourdan dosen't decide to do something stupid instead.

Napoleon must decide if Brian is still useful enough to him militarily to remain on his staff or perhaps this will be their last campaign together?
I will say this.

Brian has already established quite a rapport with Nappy B, even with their disagreements and difference in political leaning (And Napoleon wanting to marry his sister). After all competent subordinates are hard to come by (Just ask most of the French army right now), especially in the chaotic French army right now.

To put things lightly, while Brian most certainly will not gain much in political positions in the future...

He's well on his way (in fact he already has in most senses) to becoming Napoleon's chief of staff.

A very powerful position indeed. And since he's much more of a personality than Berthier, he might not suffer from Napoleon's Abuse.

Jourdan: attac
Therese: Where?
Jourdan: yes

"Very well."

*a day later*

*Italy is on fire, the Vendee is cloged with cannonballs, Paris is falling into itself, there's Prussians pieces spread all over the country, Brian is staring horrified to his sister, who looks annoyed.*

"Therese... What-"

"They didn't specify! Where was I supposed to aim my cannons if I don't have specific orders? They said "yes", Brian. I was just following what my superior said."

"...you may have a slight obssesion with cannons, Therese."

"No I don't." *twich, twich*

The Pigmy and The Giant, the new historical best seller, not to be confused with "The Giantess, and the Pigmy" hit romance/drama novel.

Edited post to expand on the theme...post bloat ahoy! #4,675

I'm glad that Napoleon has room for an ideologue in his ranks. A team of yes-men would serve him poorly in the end. So now Lady Liberty must address her own staff and impossible task: Prussia. I can't wait to extend lines into Germany from a good, if cautious start.

You are a Frenchman during the Reich's occupation. Will you seek to save the soul of France from Fascism or be a shitstain collaborator that will get what's coming to them when the Allies land in '44. Only you can decide!
I think we all know what we choose.

Baguette Machine guns for the win...

Unless they decide to make it a TNO questline... then you need to kill Himmler.

I miss your TNO quest. It would've been extra funni now that the mod's out and would've been enlightened to the Regent's Holy Truth the Germano-Assyrian suppression of the Slavic-Aryan-Palestinian master race the New Marx's Ordosocialist thought the inevitability and necessity of THE GREAT TRIAL.

i was actually going to continue that after the mod came out, but I'm not ready to start the Reboot yet. If only because... well, Alexei came to mind.

Verify your clocks kids.

Not sure why, but I inmediately thought of Therese pulling the equivalent of a Tanya the Evil move.

Revolution Era Therese: "OUT OF THE WAY!"

*Therese shoulder-checks one of the soldiers on the cannons, and starts manning it herself, constantly landing ball after ball, destroying enemy cohesion. She's grinning from ear to ear, and the soldiers close-by swear her eyes had become deep-blue, with withe and red flashes.*

Partissan Therese: "Well, it seems that defending France falls again on the shoulders of the people. ARRETEZ!"

Alright I'm back now and doing a lot better! So since we're going back to Therese what where we doing before this whole mess started? Are we advancing into Germany or something cause I'd be down for that!

Well...

You get to chose between a lot of bad options. Because it's all Jourdain's Fault for wanting to get some battlefield glory.

With an army of freshly trained recruits.

Isn't that Revolutionary France in a nutshell?
Yeah thinking about it that's pretty accurate statement.
We're France's Firefighters. It's basically our job.
Yeah I think I'm beginning to see Therese's job as more or less running around and cleaning up after the other general's when they make a mistake.

And on the Matter of Therese we really need to train up her various stats she's gotten by so far but it's only a matter of time and her cavalry command is awful and her head for strategy is only slightly worse. Thankfully she has her intelligence but she has a lot of catching up to do.

I wonder what a modern France of this quest would look like?

Well if France does keep/Get some of its otl territorial expansions and keeps control over Europe it will be quite bigger and lot Richer, quite possibly build up a fleet to contest British dominion over the sea , paired with the fact that at this time has population second only to Russia and difference isn't to great really ill let you draw the conclusion.
