Well, besides that, would you mind pointing out a few quirks the characters have? One I'm imagining is that Brian wears basically the same clothes everyday since he can't be bothered to wear something different.
Some personal headcanons:
Brian's a workaholic, habit picked up from his time being the head of the household. He'd be called "boring" by some.
Severin is calm but gets really intense when doing things he cares about like religious sermons and fighting. Boy, he loves being protestant.
De Lisle like writing songs, as you noticed, but he sings terribly, as I'm sure you also noticed. Music nerd. Probably brings parchment and a writing implements with him wherever he goes.
Chamans is kind of paranoid still, but is better. Might also be stressed from having to manage stuff in Therese's absence, but that's par for the course. He might like letting loose every now and then. Stress management issues.

More Headcanons/cannon info from the Prussian Front:
Brunswick has been thoroughly humiliated in most military circles in Prussia for losing to Therese, enough to where he is no longer on the Prussian Chief of Staff. That has made him pissed off to high heaven.
von Kalckreuth : The guy who was with Brunswick, is also disgraced, but not to the level of Brunswick. He, unlike his superior in the battle, is trying to find ways to beat us, instead of stewing in anger for several months and learning nothing but gather hatred against the woman who beat him in pitched battle.
Prince Augustus of Prussia is actually beginning his military career and actually wants to meet the woman general of France because he thinks she is being constantly underestimated, and wants to find out how she gained such a position in the French Army.
The Prussian Chief of Staff are scrambling to find a general and assemble and army for another offensive, since many of Prussia's best and brightest junior officers were routed at Metz, and are still trying to get home.

Here's this, Brian isn't in the best physical health because of his workaholic tendencies, plus his habit of eating as much sweets and drinking as much caffeine as he can to keep him awake have done him any favors.

Well considering he has saved over... (looks at the vendee stats) at least half a million people with his decisive actions... I guarantee that will effect things.
Given that the latest historians'estimate of the death toll in Vendee OTL is less than half of that (not counting Puy du Fou as anything but Royalist Propaganda), thhat's quite a lot. Would Vendee have been that much worse than OTL ITTL? and Why?

Half a million victims is more than OTL losses of the Grande ARmee in Russia. Even more than the actual forces invading Russia in 1812. That's about 70% of the total population of the area which OTL saw Vendean activities. Even doubling the area because of bad dice would mean above one third of the pre-war civilain population died; more than double the OTL percentage.
Or, if we keep the same percentage, it would mean that above 1/3 of France was in support of Vendee insurgency.

I think its just bad statistics, though I do find it odd that the Vendee was so huge ITTL, the one in ours was more successful and lasted for more than a year, this one's lasted about half a year at most and was immediately put down.
A new batch of mail had arrived at the Army of the Rhine's camp at Metz, and a rather hefty envelope found its way to one Captain Denis Martin Severin.
"Oh, mail from home. Looks like father's penmanship. Has he already found an answer to my request? That was rather quick of him. I suppose with the threat of rebellion gone, the mail service can be efficient once more. Now, to see what father has to say."
Mattheo Anselme Severin said:
Denis Martin, my son, I write to you with mixed blessings. Your family is in good health, both your little one and wife, and your nieces and nephew. The Winter and Spring were fairly mild, and the passes were clear early this year. Biffontaine remains a sleepy village, but Bruyeres will have something of a baby boom soon, given all the pregnant mothers I saw around the town. We are watchful of Württemberger encroachment across the Vosges, and I run the militia hard, as usual. I have not yet had time to travel to hear news of the wider world, but for the time being, all is well in the Vosges.
However, we have received word from your elder brother, Louis Marceau. He was among the rebels fighting in the Vendee, leading a short company in the absence of highborn officers. I shall have strong words with him regarding service and loyalty, but for now, know that he is safe, and is being reorganized into La Division de la République. The fool boy did not know he was a puppet dancing to the strings of le Bretagne! Of your younger brother, Jules Leo, we have not received any word beyond his posting at Haiti, fighting le Bretagne. It is good that you have taken the fight to the Prussians, for they are a foe we have faced many times through the generations, and you have sated a grudge that has lain in our blood since the time of my own grandfather.
It took a good deal of searching through our ancestral storehouse, but I have managed to find something that matches your request. Apparently, one of my uncles decided that he should serve aboard a Bretagne merchant ship, of all things, and became its quartermaster. He had heard of an unusual gun meant to fight African pirates in their small, swift ships, and it had been rejected by the Royal Navy. It was some sort of repeating cannon built by a English lawyer by the name of Puckle. Not an organ gun or a turret gun, but a sort of revolving chamber with powder and shot already loaded. We have a presumably working model in the storehouse, and I shall bring it to you at Metz. It is the distance of about a hundred miles, and most can by conveyed by barge down the Meurthe from Saint-Dié, Raon-l'Étape, Baccarat, Luneville, and Nancy, then along the Moselle to Pont-à-Mousson and then Metz.
I look forward to seeing you soon, my son,
Mattheo Anselme Severin
Severin was of mixed feeling on the contents of the letter. It was good to hear that his family was doing well, and he looked forward to seeing his father again, harsh taskmaster and disciplinarian that he was, and it was good to know his father had found something that might aid the fight for France's survival. He knew it was good that his brother had survived the fighting in the Vendee, but the siblings had nearly faced each other on the battlefield, and had Denis Martin not been returning from leave at home, he could have made it to his original posting in time to fight the Vendee rebels.
Shaking his head and slapping his face Severin steeled himself for the trials ahead. "Father would not appreciate me brooding on this possibility. Time to get the men back to drilling and deploying the Chasseurs throughout the countryside for perimeter patrol and scouting. That should free up more of Chamans' riders to search for survivors and stragglers roaming the countryside." That would be a more productive use of his time.

By order of the Committee of Public Safety and the Republic of France,
All able-bodied men of fighting age, from the ages eighteen to twenty-five, are hereby conscripted into the Army of the Rhine for immediate training in defense of the people and nation of France until its enemies have been driven from the soil of the Republic.
Training will be centralized around the city of Metz, with oversight provided by local officers. Salary will be equal to that of soldiers on the frontiers, with rations and living needs allocated as necessary.
Failure to follow this call without a judge's consent will be met with severe consequences, including but not limited to imprisonment and execution, under the scrutiny of the Committee of Public Safety.
Signée par Thérèse Auclair, Générale de Brigade, L'Armée du Rhin, 16e division de La République.
"As much as it pains me to put out this order…" You mutter, sealing the envelope to be sent to your various officers and messengers to reproduce throughout the countryside. "… what must be done."
Men and even some women came pouring in following the dissemination of news. Thousands of young men, mostly untouched by the war, arrived alongside your dispatched officers. Unexpectedly, patriots, retired soldiers, nurses fresh from training, and many more outside the scope of conscription came pouring in. Cooks. Merchants. Teachers. Everyone who could make an army function. If they could hold a musket, they were accepted. Those not suited to the front were reassigned to upholding the logistics of maintaining such a large amount of people.
It was great to see, if not for one glaring problem.
They were not trained, and you would need to change that.
Reward: 25,000 Soldiers (Untrained) have arrived at and around your camp, awaiting training.

It was without a word that you found two units of cavalry, lancers, to be specific, from Jourdan's army, that were patrolling the Rhine. They were in your territory without any papers to prove their origins.
After a brief and stern letter correspondence with Jourdan lamenting this logistical and communication mishap, the general proposed an order. Seeing that you lacked cavalry and they were receiving reinforcements in short order either way, Jourdan ordered the men stay with you, on provision that you train the men well and quickly, to be able to send more men in the future to aid in the push into the Low Countries if necessary.
You accepted, of course.
Reward: Gain 1000 lancers (Veteran) in your army.

There were mysteries of politicians you didn't understand. Proper speech, proper stance. How to sing, how to dance.
Well, it made sense to understand how to interact with people in different situations, at the very least since that last time you were caught in that snooty meeting with Napoleon's associates in Paris…
Following advice from Chamans, you began with speech exercises, starting with making your voice louder and clearer. This allowed you to speak with more confidence, and project your authority into a room and across fields.
Then, you followed a little piece of advice that surprisingly, was from Louis. It started with him commenting on how tall you were, and your informing him of how you were trying to be more influential. He said that you should use your height to get attention, making yourself the center of attention by sheer presence alone. You did not really know how to feel about such a form, as you were… well, comfortable with your height, but you never thought to use it in social situations. It felt arrogant at best, and manipulative at its worst. With prompting and support from Louis and Charlotte as well as Chamans, you finally decided to try it.
So you tried, standing up straighter, looking forwards, testing the pose out in private, eventually in public when meeting with soldiers and the townsfolk. Many of the locals were impressed. Not blown away, nor wowed, nor taken aback by you. You were simply seen more, interacted with, and noted. It felt… interesting, to say the least. To be the near center of attention in a social gathering.
It's something you're looking forward to keeping up!
Reward: +1 to Charisma. You feel more comfortable in your own skin. And height.

The children seemed to be taking the victory against the Austrians and the Dutch well, with their fears of being taken replaced by jubilation of remaining safe, both in the army and away from Paris.
Safe for them, at least.
The poor little ones were scared half to death about seeing you hurt. You understood their worries. You were probably the only good thing that had happened to them in a very long time, since before the revolution. A sentiment that resonated strongly in your memory.
"I'm fine, truly I am." You say quietly as they continued to request that you rest. The wincing you made as you walked aided by crutches didn't inspire confidence in that statement.
"We're just…" Charlotte, holding her brother's hand, says. "… worried about you."
You tilt your head up. "Oh, heavens, everyone is on me about this: the doctors, my officers, and now, even you, little ones…" They meet you with a gloomy look, and you're unsure how to process all this towards them.
"Thérèse…" Louis starts, visibly trying to control his emotions. "We don't want the bad men taking you away!" His voice cracks a little, and he plants a face onto his sister's shoulder.
Charlotte pets him on the back, talking to you while looking at the ground. "It was scary seeing you fall down. We though you would never get back up again. It really scared Louis… and me, too."
You wince. This was a different pain than the injury could cause you, but it was hurtful nevertheless. If you had died, then the two would have been under custody of the State… you shudder at the thought of having them be in the hands of people like before, or someone like Saint-Just.
Bowing your head, you breathe deeply before addressing them. "I'm sorry. It was terribly selfish of me. As a commander, it was foolish to go out when I had an injury. More so, as your guardian, it was thoughtless of me to put myself in unnecessary risk, leaving the two of you alone. I don't know what came over me; I don't know if I can make it up to you, but I want you to know that I'm sorry, and I won't leave you like that again."
They come up to you as you try to kneel down, putting up their arms around you to prevent you from exerting yourself. Louis, face muffled in your pant leg, talks with a shaky voice. "I-I… just…
"It's okay, with the two of you by my side, I'll get through any danger. And I promise, of course."
With no words remaining to be said, you pulled together into a warm embrace, enjoying the calm in the storm.
Reward: The children gain affection with you, thankful that you are okay. Try to not hurt yourself again, for their sake.
+1 relation with Louis and Charlotte.

It appears you have an admirer.
You put the letter down. It is one that details the possibility of meeting some time now that the issue in the Vendée is finished with. A breath of fresh air, to be certain, in all this conflict. However, breathing caused you pain recently, and you weren't sure you are ready to respond when you are less capable at the moment. You're still not sure on how your first impressions were last time you met in Paris.
After all, Napoleon himself, like all other Frenchmen, had a duty to the nation in these trying times.
Taking up a quill and penning a response was not difficult. You knew exactly what to say, and it was quite a short note, letting him know that his responsibilities lie in aiding the nation first. It would be a relatively simple matter to meet after all the bloodshed is over, after all. You take care to downplay the extent of your injuries, lest he be worried about that fact. If there was anything to mention, it would be to focus on the task at hand, have one big conflict sorted out before anything more… personal should be engaged in.
You were sure to inquire further on Brian's status, congratulating the two on their efforts in dispelling the rebellion.
A week later, the response arrives, and Napoleon replies with a confirmation, letting you know of his and Brian's agreement to hear your own decision and view on the situation.
Reward: Napoleon's intention to try and meet with you has been addressed. He accepts the offer, and will focus his own efforts on the war first.
+1 relation with Napoleon.

It's a few days after your birthday, which went by quite well. You had a fun time with the children, taking them to tour Metz, with a party in the evening alongside cheerful soldiers and locals.
But, back to business as usual now.
The supplies you ordered was successfully disseminated through the city of Metz, thanks to local suppliers cooperating with you in everything from raw materials to food. Some blacksmiths turned their production towards muskets and cannons, with public housing converted into barracks in short notice. It all seemed well enough for everything to go swimmingly.
In the previous correspondence with Napoleon, he introduced a man by the man of Joachim Murat, who was supposedly a great cavalry commander, and a friend of the general's, who was looking to join you. When asked about why the Corsican didn't want the cavalry commander in his own ranks, he did not give many details. Only a mention of how he already had a second-in-command, and a promise of the skills Murat has.
Well, he now stands before you.
The colonel stands at attention as you inspect him. He certainly is… different from what you expected. When you heard that an experienced veteran of the Vendée rebellion was arriving—a friend of Napoleon and Brian, no less—you had expected someone… well, not this.
He dresses finely… even, dare you say, like royalty. With bright colors, campaign ribbons, and medals of gallantry. His boots were polished to shine, his hat had feathers in it, and his horse a fine stallion. He was light on his feet, as if he was dancing wherever he wanted. "State your name, and former company." You're almost tempted to ask if his hair is naturally curled or not.
He bows elaborately. "Enchanté. Joachim Murat, formerly of the 12th Chasseurs, now under the command of the 10th Dragoons of the Army of the Rhine." He states. "General Bonaparte, our mutual friend, sent me, to assist in the continued defense of the Rhine, and prepare any potential offensive, assisting you in any way that I can." He gets up from his bow.
"Yes." You frown. "Did General Bonaparte send any notice that he deemed important?" You ask.
"Yes, Générale." Murat states as he removes a letter from his coat. The seal of the National Guard and the Bonaparte family crest, which you recall seeing when visiting Paris.
"Very well, Colonel Murat." It seems he wanted this matter to remain private, if it had his own seal. You look at him up and down one more time, restraining your hands from reaching for your own hair. "You'll be assigned a quarter shortly this evening. Denis Severin will help you with that here. Any other inquiries?"
He smirks, saluting in a very… casual manner. "No Générale."
He looked like he was going to say something else, but decided against it. You address him one more time before shifting your crutches. "Well then, Colonel, dismissed. Welcome to the Rhine."
Reward: Supplies are no issue for the next two quarters around Metz.
Joachim Murat, friend of Napoleon and Colonel in the Army, has joined your officer's staff.
Joachim's trait: Look at My Horse – In addition to looking extremely good and dressing like he is constantly on parade, this man knows his way around horses, and can strategize around their usage with scary efficiency. This is nothing to say that he isn't valiant, with a fire in his eyes that you swear would make any man run away if he charged on top a horse.
+15 to all cavalry-related rolls.
(You have gained one of the greatest cavalrymen/cavalry commanders on the face of the earth, try not to lose him!)
On your birthday, you've decided to invest time to make more time for people around you. Our time on this world is precious and short, after all.
Choose two (2) people to focus on hanging out with!
[] Louis and Charlotte: The two royal children under your care. They are calmer following your promise with them, but more time spent with them could help.
[] Chamans: The head of your officer staff. He has a lot on his plate, coordinating efforts with Metz to facilitate the logistics of supporting the influx of soldiers.
[] Severin: Your religious Swedish officer. He looks eager to find some action, with the Battle of Amiens not involving his expertise as much as he would like.
[] De Lisle: Songwriter and learned officer he is, he's been helping with coordinating the logistics recently. He's been looking for musical inspiration recently, and maybe you could help?
[] Murat: The newcomer. He seems to know his way around horses and could be a great asset indeed. However, you may wish to know more about him as a person, as he is a friend of Napoleon, too?
[] Renée Dubois : A woman in the Army as well, you hadn't found the time to find and converse with her in recent times. Perhaps getting to know a woman with a military background would be good?
The soldiers and the influx of men mean a lot of coordination, but that is thankfully being taken care of with minimal input from you. You're in charge of the general guidelines the officers below you need to follow to get these men up to speed and in fighting shape before the Prussian ceasefire invariably ends, or the Austrians decide to flank around the Rhine again.
Choose one training stance for the new conscripts:
[] Harsh: There is no time to waste. Enemies of the Republic lurk across the rivers and beyond the mountains. They are in the woods and attempting to influence countrymen in our homes. Though it pains you, you may need to give these patriots a crash course in serving in the military. +Fast training. +15 bonus to training speed roll. -Likely to have deserters or casualties and lowered morale among conscripts. -10 to training quality roll.
-Additional roll for deserters.
[] Gentle: These are soldiers of the Republic, yes, but we must be realistic and allow them to settle into the lifestyle of a soldier when they are plucked from their homes. Provide sufficient rations to boost morale and minimize the amount of training in exchange for more teamwork building and more Élan. +Happier troops. Increased morale in battles for next deployment. +No (0) desertion rolls. -Slower training. -10 to training speed roll.
[] Balanced: There is no need to give up speed and efficiency for happier soldiers. The middle ground, one always used, should be taken. Standard rations and training, as the soldiers in your army already have is enough. =No bonuses nor penalties to rolls for speed or desertion. -One (1) desertion roll.

Moratorium for 20 hours!
A/N: Thanks to the lovely @Magoose and @Cyberphilosipher for the update and Murat's character sheet, to be posted soon! It's a nice reprieve for now, with enemies still on the border but being held back. The Vendee is definitely less bloody than OTL, since the rebel leaders were supported by the British, and were too reliant. With the withdrawal of the Brits, the rebels lost much morale and supplies to continue onwards. The push into Netherlands will continue as Dumouriez and Jourdan planned, with Adalene's contingent following them. Kellermann is in the Alps, fending off a push from the Austrians. Napoleon and Brian are reporting back to Paris to be reassigned. Wonder where they will go?

I'd like for your suggestion on the omake I'm gonna write next, I'm thinking of Murat and Davout meeting, since I've written that he's currently an officer around here and immediately dislike each other, considering how much there personalities contrast, only their fierce republicanism being the thing they have in common.
Another is Laurens getting sent instead, he's still a very good cavalry officer in all, but probably not to Murat's level, I would think of him being introduced on the way that Therese notices him talk about logistics since he's really good at it, and she subtly feels like he's flirting with her.

Murat and Davout gets my vote! Sounds like an interesting clash of personalities, always fun to see!
I've updated Therese's stats and added Murat to the Contacts page; hopefully it encapsulates his personality! Written courtesy of Cyber and Magoose!

We need them to love us and because of how quiet this theatre is (because of us, I might add) I think we've earned the right to take things carefully.
Metz and this army is our power base, bleeding it unnecessarily and alienating the people in it is just a bad idea.
As for the people to hang out with, the kids are no brainer and Renee is someone I'm partial to. (That's the cavalrywoman right?)
Murat and Davout gets my vote! Sounds like an interesting clash of personalities, always fun to see!
I've updated Therese's stats and added Murat to the Contacts page; hopefully it encapsulates his personality! Written courtesy of Cyber and Magoose!
Name: Joachim-Napoléon Murat
Titles: Marshal of France
Age: 25
Beliefs: Fashion(™), Republicanism, Napoleon
Republican Sentiments: 10 (You see it not as an idea...but a sort of experiment to indulge in.)
Monarchist Sentiments: 5 ("Citizen Capet...to put it in the bluntest way, fucked up out nation...now better men must fix it)
Allies: Thérèse Auclair, Napoleon Bonaparte
Enemies:
Commands:
Public Reputation: 4/10 You are a noted Colonel of rank and quite flamboyant and dashing man.

Honor's and Decorations: Colonel of France
Stats:
Military: 19 (Live a military man, die a military man... I'd make sure to look good when my time comes, though.)
Charisma: 17 (Despite my many... eccentricities, men follow me; hell, I could wear a DRESS and they would follow me to war!)
Decorum: 25 (The Dandy Man is a title worn with distinction and class, from ballroom dances to barnyard parties to tavern brawls... I will act with courtesy and respect, and dress to impress.)
Stewardship: 15 (I understand economics and running things quite well!)
Intelligence: 17 (I could have been a scholar or a priest, but that would be too drab, too monotonous, too unappealing.)
Education: 16 (Well read, charming and intelligent. I'm the full package of a man, ladies.)
Subterfuge: 17 (What? I couldn't hear you over the sound of me plunging my dagger into your back! Not that I would...)

Calvary Command: 24 (I know I am the greatest cavalry commander in the world. Just.. need a good stage to show it.)
Infantry Command: 17 (The children of France! Infantry are the lifeblood of our armies!)
Artillery Command: 12 (I am no Napoleon - he is Michelangelo; I am but an amateur)
Grand Strategy: 17 (Small question: how does one win a war with under 50,000 casualties? Answer: Hills... ah, I'll explain later.)
Engineering: 15 (I am great at making defenses and ditches! Well, designing them, anyways...)
Logistic: 16 (Only a fool would discount his baggage train and provisions!)
Manual Labor: 13 (I am not a soft man nor a hard one. I work when I need to, and if I am asked.)
Law: 13 (Laws are many things. Practicality is what I want - at least, in legal systems. Just... let a man wear what he wants, okay?)
Administration: 16 (I can manage the military and civilians! I'm a man of many talents, you've surely heard?)
Contacts & People of Interest – Les Personnes Intéressantes Allies People who don’t wanna stab you. Big Brother Relationship: Brother Opinion: MAX "You're my precious sister." Appearance: More muted colors than Therese, but still a small Tricolor pinned to his Brest. A tailcoat and decent...
If I could offer a piece, I would put Murat's Republican Sentiments a lot higher, before the Marshal of France and King of Naples thing, dude was a very committed republican, he freaking changed his name to Murat to be closer to Jean-Paul Marat, though it could be said he also did that to avoid being seen as monarchist. Also, maybe the subterfuge could be higher? He once captured a bridge along with Lannes with nothing but bluffs and lies.
Great update as always guys. I'm also leaning to the gentle training, as we're not in need to rush anything. I'm kind of ambivalent towards who to hang out with.
