Tally:
6 infantry
2 Cavalry
7 Artillery

I'll agree that we can let cavalry fall behind a bit. Not quite as important if we play def, and even attacking isn't always that useful considering the time period and the whole, infantry have scary guns nowadays, business.

[X] ...the infantry held the flanks as the artillery moved up Valmy Hill...

Infantry is the backbone of any army, def or offen. Plus, you know, infantry and generals being out of position was what lost old Nappy B Waterloo, so...

And how about this? We say she's between ~5'8 and ~6'3, and I'll roll a d8 like, say, three or four times, and we all get together and "vote" for which we want?

Edot:

[] 5'8
[] 5'10
[] 6'0
[] 6'3

I'll go with...
[] 5'10
...myself, as I don't want to be too tall. Especially cause then lots of people try to shoot you.

Also, dunno if we can use an actual vote or not, but still.

Way ahead of you, pardner.
We already rolled.

Tell ya what, you roll a d8, and we'll average the height, kapiche?

Shrug. I rolled 6 times and got a 8, 5, 8, 1, 1, 3.

Then I just posted the 1, 3, 5, and 8. (d8 + 5'7 to find her height).

Well we got
[QUOTE="Cyberphilosipher]
Alright I rolled

Hold on 1D8 => 2

So 5'9,
So 5'9.5! Congrats, you're taller than Napoleon!

I'll add that to the char sheet later.

The average height for men in France at the time was roughly 5'5, roughly 5'1 for women

Therese, at 5'9.5 would be considered very, very tall

The real question then is: how tall is Brian?

Also, currently (not counting this vote) Brian is better (talking about battle command stuff specifically) at overall Command, Infantry Command, and Cavalry Command. Therese is already better at commanding Artillery, however, and their Grand Strategy's and Combat are effectively the same. Also, Therese is now only behind him by 3 points when it comes to Military (14 vs 11). We've already come so far!

What have you been feeding us Bro?! I thought we were commoners?

Therese eating most of the budget when they were younger, literally.

Well, when you're a genius who doesn't need to pay for school when it's very, very expensive... You can afford massive food budgets to become giants!

Really, we all know the real reason the revolution happened. The French were tired of everyone and their mothers calling them short! :V

Imagine if we had rolled an 8, 6'3 (which is about my height funnily enough) would actually be the realm of giants

As it is Therese already probably needs her clothes, particularly uniforms, custom tailored
She'll be a very recognizable war hero, might even receive a moniker based on her stature

[X] ...the artillery leveled the enemy advance...

Moar dakka!!!
We have the ability to take a position before our enemy due to surveyor, so we can set up on hills or across fields of mud and make it harder for the enemy to get to us. As long as our infantry is decent, we'll be fine!

Wait, is this Huge Quest now?

Giant Woman Quest.

Haven't figured out Brian's height yet.
But yeah, he really loves you, you've only got each other after Father died, and he was hurt by the death of Mother too. Basically, he dotes on you and feeds you more than you need sometimes.

That's partly why he was quiet through the tribunal. He felt like it was his fault for getting you into it. Being a smart is hard.

Awwww, what a nice brother. We should put him in charge of our infantry to thank him.

Speaking of which, if we hypothetically managed to get all +10 from this vote into artillery, we could have level 20 already. That's Alexander The Great levels of Greatness, and we could definitely get senpai to do a lot more than notice our existence with that. Could probably become one of his top generals after a few crushing victories.

Edit:
We can put Brian in charge of the infantry in order to compensate for our specialization, and maybe find some other lieutenant to control the cavalry.

But then we'd mess up hard should any battle need us to be involved with the infantry or the cavalry, even more so if we are attacking. I don't think min-maxing is the way to go here.

"What?! Why would I have him lead the men who stand really close and take turns shooting each other?!"

not likely, looking at the votes, but this mainly for representing your specialty this quest. Progress might be slower later, unless you crit or something.

Heresy! Minmaxing is always the answer! :mob:

Because the alternative is to put him on one of those giant furry things that like to kick us.

... Okay, maybe we could stand to put a little into infantry.

On the other hand, we can always train for infantry later. Our specialization could be really useful if we get it high enough.

[X] ...the infantry held the flanks as the artillery moved up Valmy Hill...

Infantry is versatile and we can't defend anything without people to hold down positions and take whatever remains post bombardment. Artillery is great and very reasonable as our specialty, but I just want to make sure we don't over-specialize. As others have said we're going to have to be on the offensive on occasion.
