It's LIke XCOM, But With More Sparkles -- Henshin Heroes & Heroines HQ Quest!

[X] Increase Hero Slots by +2

[X] Sector VI

[X] ADMINISTRATIVE AUTOMATION – By streamlining the administrative sector and farming out the more menial tasks to computer systems and analytic programs, you'll be able to free up more time to take a more active role in your Base. (Grants an additional Sector I Action.)
Can I ask you why you are giving a Permanent +1 to the Sector that has only one action that requires a dice roll and is probably the sector that will be very busy patching up our heroes?

two actually. we got a new research option in this battle. Not that you're wrong with your other point.
The action is "RESEARCH".
If I was talking about the number of project, SECTOR VI still is on the bottom on the list (SECTOR V andi III have more research topic).
We can use SECTOR VI for three things: HEAL and THERAPY (who don't require a ROLL) and RESEARCH (who require a roll).
If we do the first two action, we aren't using the bonus.
If we give it to SECTOR V, for exemple, we have TRAIN, DESIGN and RESEARCH, all with Roll. Whenever action we take, we are still using the bonus.
Since is a limited resource, we should use the most out of it.

If Hazard Containment doesn't win, can we please hold off on modifying the Shadow Crystals until Turn 3? While the +1 bonus should help, I'm still worried about the Nightmare Kingdom attacking us through the crystals if the roll fails. I'd prefer to wait until our heroes' INJURIES have healed before trying it.

Also, I want to point out that if a hazard spreads or the base is invaded, then we're likely to lose resources and actions. We'll need to repair the base with actions from Sector II, which isn't so bad with how few actions that sector has, but we might not be able to choose actions for any sectors that have been damaged until they've been repaired. I'd really like to get Hazard Containment to limit the damage.

Mm, the trouble with Administrative Automation is that there are only three Sector 1 actions possible - Interact, Recruit, Support - and we can't use multiple Interact actions in one turn. Thus, it's only useful on turns when we Recruit or try to replenish Morale. Or if we somehow lose our existing Assistant. Given the ferocious papa bear reaction the voting public had to the idea of that, I suspect she'll be with us for some time to come.

Hazard Containment is probably the most sensible option, but... SPACESHIP.

I want an Interact -> Suggestion -> "Do you want to take a ride in the spaceship?" and to do that we need the spaceship.

We can do three action, since Automation don't specify that the Action need to be a separate one.
On the other side, we can 2 Interact and a Boost Sector most of the time, since I don't know if we can do two boost to the Sector in the same turn.

I could swear we can't double-Interact. It's come up before.
The reason we couldn't double Interact is this:
Administrative Aide Maya Tanaka
GI: Female
Source: None
Status: Away
Bio: A UN-selected administrative aide and observer. Maya was dispatched to Hexagon Alpha to both help the Administrator and keep an eye on them. Almost aggressively normal.
Abilities
Administrative Aide: Allows the Administrator to take a second separate Sector I action during the Base Phase.
The +1 is permanent, yes. Also yes, you have to select the sub-action when you use the SUPPORT action. However, please note that Administrative Automation doesn't require it to be a SEPERATE action, unlike Maya's Ability.

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED.

Final Tallies

Upgrade Stat
Hero 12
Ally 1

Sector Bonus
Sector III 1
Sector V 9
Sector VI 3

Enhancement
Automation 6
Hazard 4
Motorpool 3

Post will be up later.
To clarify: yes, the bonus action from Automation allows you to use a single action twice, since it isn't limited to a 'Separate' action like Maya's ability.

Oh well, I tried to the end. I hope we can use this Third Action well.
So we can do +2 to a Sector (or a +1 to two Sector) taking twice the SUPPORT action?

What bugs me about the motorpool option is that I don't know if we'll even be able to use it right now. We don't have the designs for advanced machinery, and I'd be surprised if we get any soon. We also don't know if we'll need the spaceship any time soon. If we don't use it before the next base enhancement vote, then it's a waste that we could have spent on a different base enhancement instead. I'd like to get the motorpool later in the quest when we're more likely to need it.

Since we now have 3 actions for Sector I, I'd like to suggest that we hold off on recruiting Nanoha for a turn or two. It just feels like our team needs more time to gel together and figure out their roles. I still feel bad about Jin calling himself an outsider to the team.

We can do one Recruit, one interaction and one boost this turn.
We need fresh meat in case we roll another 1 or 2 on the Event Dice.

While it would be nice to have another hero in that case, the beginning of the last Incident emphasized for me that just because we've recruited these heroes, it doesn't mean that they'll all get along. The constant adding of new team members probably didn't help, and adding someone new right when everyone is trying to recover from the previous Incident feels like something that might stress our heroes out, though probably not actually STRESS them out.

It might get better once we INTERACT more with our heroes and ask them how they're getting along with their teammates, but I suggest asking Subaru and Naoko about themselves and their families first. We haven't INTERACTed with them yet, and asking about them instead of their relationships with their teammates will hopefully show that we care about them more than just as cogs in the machine we need to keep running.

Oh! Well then I don't feel bad about this result at all. At aaaaallll.

Also, if you have a spaceship at your command, the question is not if there is a situation that needs it, but if there is a situation that you can make need it.

Welp, I hope they survive the next crysis if we are going to Interact with them: I would hate to see character that have grown on me die because we didn't have the reserve for them.
Two Interaction and one Recruit?

To be frank, deepening our roster isn't to give our heroes new and wonderful friends to interact with - the more Heroes we have, the more able we are to absorb the blow when things go wrong, and the better our action economy when we get down to brass tacks. It is absolutely a cold-blooded calculation: as long as they're fighting fit, more or less able to work as a team and don't want to leave they can hate each other all day.

Although my suspicion is that an older magical girl might be the voice of reason the current team needs. That or she'll be a narcissistic diva who never let go of her glory days and everyone can unite to hate her together. Either way is a win in my book!

With three actions for Sector 1 we can finally spare enough time to Support, so let's Interact Subaru (at long last!), Support a researching sector, and Recruit.

I can accept this. I do have high hopes for these crystals though. If we can modify them so that they feed/remove bad memories/feelings instead of good ones they could possibly be used as a cure for depression, to help deal with mental problems like PTSD and, mechanically, to reduce stress levels of our heroes more quickly. And we could potentially get usable energy in the process!!

I can't help but think about all of the "X will remember this" responses we got in the last update. Our choices have more results than just RESOURCES, STRESS, HEROES, etc., and I can't help but feel like RECRUITing another team member right now will have a negative impact on our current team members. It's a bit risky, but I'd like to wait at least 1 turn for Touma and everyone to sort through their feelings on what happened in the last Incident.

Also, if we SUPPORT a sector, I suggest it be Sector VII for TRAINing Naoko. I really want to get rid of her Untrained trait.

@PurpleProse I was checking Turn 9 Investigation Topic and I see that we still have the Chimera as an option, but we did Investigate that. We can Investigate that again?
Also: the Gentles didn't unlocked any research? Just the cane from the boss and the Investigation topic and the Mind-Controll device?
[ ] RESEARCH (ROLL REQUIRED)
-[ ] Random Topic
-[ ] Magical Girls
-[ ] Shadow Crystal Modification
-[ ] Silhouette Residue
-[ ] Nightmare Kingdom
So, this SECTOR V Research list.
Crystal can wait. If I can be honest, the most interesting is the Silhouette. It's a Minion, but it's not an autopsy. No Idea what a Nightmare Kingdom can lend to. Magical Girls can be interesting for Shineon and the new one when we'll recruit it (but I'm understing that won't happen too soon.)
Btw, if we want to be extra-safe, we can research the Crystal for last: we have a lot on our hand, honestly.

There's one more thing we kinda need. I remember how in the past, after a training action, one of our hero got a trait and a "you can't get any more traits from training in this sector".

A list for which sector has nothing more to offer (other than xp) to which hero would be usefull to min-max the training options.

I think we only got that message once, but i might remember wrong.

We found out from Hikaru's grandmother that the Nightmare Kingdom was one of the smaller FoE groups in her day, and she was surprised that it had attacked Tokyo. She said that either the Nightmare Kingdom has grown a lot stronger to face off with the big-time FoEs there, or someone else took care of them. Hopefully, researching the Nightmare Kingdom tells us the current situation.

Researching the Nightmare Kingdom and Magical Girls are probably the safest options, but Magical Girls isn't really a priority for me. I'm unsure of what we'd learn from doing it, and we have 1 magical girl hero with 1 more on the recruit list. The Silhouette Residue is interesting, and so is the Shadow Crystal Modification once we're past the 2nd turn. As long as we research the Nightmare Kingdom in the first 2 turns to hopefully complete it before the next Incident, then I'm ok with doing the Silhouette Residue first.

The funny thing is that Shineon once got a 11 with Training, unlocked "Shield of Hope" but not a trait from the Sector. I don't know if Purpleprose forget about that or we unlocked a better Passive.

Found it!
Sector V – Train Touma – 5, 6 = 11 (PURE SUCCESS)

With Touma still injured, you decide the best use of his time is to do some learning outside of his comfort zone. Falter Silk initially is puzzled with what to do with Touma (and irritated by his attitude), but soon figures out that Touma responds better to hands-on teaching than book study. Touma ends up picking up a surprising knowledge base for magical items. Of course, Falter also beats strategy into his head by repeatedly trouncing him at chess.

(Touma gains the Trait – Knows (Artifacts). Cannot gain an additional trait from Sector V)

Sector VII – Train (Hikaru) – 6, 5 = 11 (PURE SUCCESS)

Seems that having Odessa throw him around is actually working. Hikaru's starting to improve his hand-to-hand skills, enough that he's actually confident he can use them effectively in battle. His confidence is actually starting to grow now, enough that people seem to feel lighter-hearted around him.

(+1 EXP to Hikaru)
(* HIKARU LEVEL UP! Ability Unlocked: Armor of Optimism *)
(Hikaru gains the Trait: Fighter (Unarmed))
Welp, seems I remebered wrong.
@PurpleProse Still, shouldn't be a disclaimer that says that we won't get any more bonus from training Hikaru in this Sector?
