[X] IT'S TO BE EXPECTED – Yeah, sending her to fight the head honcho probably wasn't the best idea. But, she did capture the ship, and that's no mean feat. She may not work super well on the front lines, but she's still valuable.
Yeah, the fact that we're sending Subaru into direct combat is down to how thin our roster is right now. Having her sneaking around stealing spaceships seems like much more her style, so let's see what we can do about having her do more of that sort of thing.
[X] ORDERS ARE ORDERS – Sometimes, you have to do something unpleasant if it's for the greater good. If you make the call, then he has to trust your judgment and follow through. It may not be fun, but it has to be done.
Hongo is the sort of person who won't order unnecessary killing, even of xeno kidnapper probably-slaver scum (apparently, grumble). That being said, it's another thing to order some necessary ruthlessness in the heat of battle. If there really is a war on, it's important to see our orders followed - and we should work on our rapport with Shineon to make sure that trust is ironclad. Rule 1 of XCOM is that missions fail sometimes, and you have to know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em, and sometimes you have to shoot the Dark VIP.
[X] YOU DID FINE – He seems like the can handle himself in a fight, and sometimes a bit of recklessness is useful in the heat of combat. Let him be a manly man. Hot blood and guts, etc.
Enthusiasm for the mission is the exact opposite of hesitancy, however! We should encourage being gung-ho about fighting for Earth. ...rule 2 of XCOM is that there's always a sacrificial lamb.
