It Belongs to a Museum

Damn it. With a vote this close I think I'm going to have to make a decision instead of approval voting, so I went back to the options to scrutinize the descriptions for deciding factors.

In the end it came down to the primary Affinities: both Sith Rionnasc and the Vampire Coast have History, we've already seen a lot of Magic in DL but imo we've also already seen a lot of Religion through Mathilde's investigations into the Gods and talking with Cython, so that a wash, but I prefer Age and looking a really old shit over Trophy and things that Luther Harkon specifically did.

[X] Sith Rionnasc

Yar-har! Let's see the Tomb Kings try to raze an island!
I mean, it wouldn't be the first time Settra conquered Sartosa.
I don't know if anybody actually keeps track of things like this, but I'd put good money on this being the highest turnout for a first vote in a quest ever.
I'm pretty sure this is the highest turnout for a vote in any quest on SV period, outside of Divided Loyalties.

(Which did have a modest first vote, don't think it was more than a couple dozen at most)

I am going to remind people that if your favorite is one of the trailing options, there's no reason not to vote for it: even if you have strong opinions about the top 2 that is currently a tight race, if your ideal Magical Sigmartag Land outcome is Altdorf/Sartosa/Tilea, vote for it at the same time! As long as the votes are in the same post, they're still both counted, and that way your favorite option gets a "true" measure of its support. This has two desirable qualities:
  1. Comebacks become more possible: if there are a bunch of people who prefer option 3 over both option 1 and 2, but are mixed in whether they prefer option 1 or 2, then all of them approval-voting option 3 means that option 3 can more easily rise into second place, at which point people who prefer it to the thing in first place can drop their approval votes.
  2. Even if your favorite option doesn't stage a comeback, having a truer measure of its support lets the QM calibrate and go "hrm, option X sure was popular even though it didn't win, I should keep that in mind for the future."

As someone with clear preference for one of leading options, this is nerve wracking.
Speaking from experience with tense votes from DL: take a break. Acknowledge the notification you get for new posts in the thread, but then just don't check again until you see a threadmark from the QM. You will feel a lot better.

It's not like this is a war turns strategy vote where every option needs to be analyzed in depth and effortposts can make a huge difference, where the argument can sorta be made that you should keep reading and posting if you're highly invested. It's literally the first vote of the quest! It's character creation. You can't argue someone out of "Well this is what I want to read," nor should you try. So there's no gain, even theoretical, to be had from following the vote if it's stressing you out. Just go do something else and come back when there's a new threadmark. You'll be much happier, even if the vote goes against you.

[x] Altdorf
[x] Tilea

Honestly, I'm not too worried about what ends up winning. IMO, skilled authors can turn any subject they find interesting into something worth reading. Boney has proved that with DL as a quest and their many deep dives into the minutia of Warhammer and real world language and history

I've gotta ask, why do you keep posting the same vote?
Honestly I'm trying to get people to consider tyrazen the infinite in Warhammer fantasy after all this quest is about running a museum in the old world who else could really be the best choice other than the kleptomaniac necron of 40k I don't personally mind where we start at I vote for altdorf because it's the most manic of the options to me but I really like the idea of bringing tyrazen into the old world because I don't think there's a current tyrazen analog in canon fantasy so I'm trying to inspire a consideration of what the fantasy version of tyrazen would be like and encourage people to vote for a tyrazen expi so that we can explore the concept and the QM can bring the concept to life in this story

A Trazyn expy would be a Tomb King, not a Vampire. There's no obvious mirror for the Vampire Coast in 40k.
