Called raises are the normal thing. It lets you look at a roll, say "I can do better than that", and make life more difficult for yourself in order to make the result more awesome if you succeed. Calling two raises increases the difficulty by 10 (a bit less than the increase you'd get from having a couple more kept dice) and gives you two raises worth of additional awesome. You can do this as much as you want, any time you have reason to roll for anything.I suppose that my understanding of the game has let me down. Could you explain the difference?
Free raises are a thing about this *particular* forum game, and this game's version of omake rewards. So far, there are two people who have earned them and not spent them, and they each get to determine where their particular free raise goes. Each can be used once, and each gives the benefit of a raise without the cost.
